This might be true for some straight men, but definitely not all straight men. I have plenty of female friends I would never sleep with. Many of my male friends would agree.

Do you see this as a double standard?

Haha I would say I’m average attractiveness? I’m terms of receiving, I’ve definitely felt some women be much more open and nice to someone better looking than me. And when I think about it, I’ve definitely been a little extra nice to some women just because I found them attractive, probably unconsciously. I’m in general a pretty nice guy to everyone though

This! Some women and some men treat unattractive people poorly and don’t respect them. I’ve seen and certainly felt it on both the receiving and giving end.

I applaud you for trying to help OP so much despite the attitude. @OP I obviously don’t know you or how you approach women, but via text you come across as self-defeating and having a negative energy. I can imagine the lack of progress being frustrating, but try reflecting if it’s this negative energy your projecting. Maybe a change of mindset will help.

I also highly recommend checking out The Art of Manliness podcast. He talks about a range of fascinating topics, but he did one on small talk recently that really reframed what small talk means and how important it can be.

Thanks man! I’ve realized that I actual am a physical person (as in Im expressive with my body and like using physical contact to show affection), but often hold myself back as to not offend someone who doesn’t appreciate it. Love the suggestion of using leading questions. Will definitely try something like that next time. Thanks for the advice! I texted her later that night, and she had plans with friends already since she was also visiting from another state. In retrospect, I probably could ha…

The only way to know if she likes you is to ask her out. Shoot your shot and ask her out for a drink. If she says no, move on.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
