Okay, so you wanted to present yourself as boyfriend material, perhaps. That's cool. So you saw her as potential girlfriend material? Maybe that's overstating it. But you wanted to establish some sort of connection more meaningful than a one-night stand. This is all to the good! I would suggest: don't worry about showing a girl your noble intentions. Just effectively act on them. Just do what'll get the job done to build a real closeness. I.e. being together, in the flesh. I'd suggest that text …

Date more chicks. Bang them or not, that's up to you. I say there's nothing wrong with deciding not to have casual sex. But I don't know why you call this 'playing the nice guy'. Is denying someone sex supposed to be an act of kindness?

Sex is essentially, largely just another entertainment activity. But it's important too, because of the personal qualities it demands that a man develop. These largely overlap with attributes of a fully-formed, functional human male. What really matters: the qualities that men demand from men, in an entirely nonsexual context. That's the difference between masturbation and sex. So I'm putting some effort into dating. I'm paying more attention to my career and I'll keep playing videogames until I…

If I understand the premise right--real vulnerability is risk of material loss, not hurt feelings--I agree with it. Women's time investment into an exclusive relationship, especially in her peak SMV years, could be considered her primary point of vulnerability. This has become increasingly compensated for, as Rollo says. But money won't buy back those years. That's a sort of material loss too. As long as they can measure economic inequality between the sexes, women can always say they deserve mo…

rape is unwanted intercourse No, rape is non-consensual sex. You would want it but not give content. Or you could consent to sex you don't want.

This thesis was explained here: http://archive.is/90chO 'Why Pretty Girls Hate Being Asked Out on Dates by Nerds' I don't know if this sort of cerebral explanation is needed. Isn't it just instinct?

Some woman can be the one to make up rules for women. Women can and do choose their own sources of authority. Some of them write lists of rules; there are plenty in the world of dating advice for women. But they tend to prefer less structured ways to communicate principles.

It may indeed boost her ego. Why shouldn't he let her feel some satisfaction? It might cause her to feel less resentful about the breakup, and less likely to do something spiteful to hurt OP. The amount of relative 'value' between him and her doesn't matter at all. They're not going to be in contact.

Also you telling her She's like fire, is like giving her power over you. Its like you're saying she's too much for little you too handle. Absolutely. But why is this bad? He wisely doesn't want anything to do with her. She knows this. He's been honest about this. He hasn't revealed some secret vulnerability that she can use against him. If she thinks he has, what's she going to do about it? They're not in contact.

A sexually-frustrated incel isn't happy. A sexually-satisfied alpha might be happy. Or he might not. For a man going through a process of building SMV, successfully increasing ability to perceive, develop and enjoy sexual opportunities will be a source of happiness. But when he gets to the top of that mountain, he'll need to move on to another one. Nietzsche: What is happiness? The feeling that power increases — that a resistance is overcome

Understand that for men the completion of a sex act with a random slut typically ends with a feeling of mild disgust that you did it. Once you orgasm you realize who you are with and want her out immediately. Sounds like a good reason to avoid random sluts, and maintain higher standards. It narrows a man's options, sure, but so does heterosexuality.

I'd rather protect myself by avoiding the need for recording devices. Having sex on a first ever tinder meeting? That doesn't seem safe. Better for both of us to meet then have some time apart to ponder each other before deciding whether to move forwards. There's no need to rush. I don't have a terminal illness. Being horny for another week (which isn't how it really works, but whatever) won't kill me.

Good I got some matches on Bumble and will meet one next week. Got a raise. Bad I masturbated a lot. I skipped exercises. Nearly zero videogame playing. Raise was small. Next week goals: Write write write.

By all means, go ahead with that if you so choose. Make sure to write field reports! Is that how you really want to behave, but you're holding back because of your idea of 'respect'? You think it'd get you the results you want?

If I discovered I was terminally ill, and had a 'girlfriend' I'd known for a month, I wouldn't tell her. I'd dump her. Why waste her time? Why get closer to her and cause her more pain later? Better to hurt her a little bit, earlier.

How long between the first date/meeting and you deciding to be a couple? 4 weeks isn't enough time for that! You need at least twice that. Like, 8 dates. Did she ask? And you said yes?

How do people on here come to peace with how toxic and vile some of these ideologies are? I am not at peace. The war rages on eternally. I wouldn't have it any other way. The war within and without... I do battle through writing. But nobody fights 24/7. You're allowed to take a break. You need to relax and recover. You need to be able to relax at home so: stop discussing it with your sister, man!

Sounds like you're due to raise your standards and become much less tolerant of bad attitudes. Which means... taking on the challenge of finding higher quality girls. I suggest: trying professional events, perhaps meetup.com writing or speaking groups.

Saw your other thread, so first of all, well done. How do I maintain dominance while not knowing what the fuck I am doing I just want to say I love this question. And also, there's a sense in which you actually do know what you're doing, in any situation, no matter how unfamiliar it is. You know that you're learning, experimenting, exploring. You've know that you're working toward a goal. (Orgasms for both of you, at least, I suppose?) I dunno if that helps a guy 'maintain dominance', lol, but h…

The hazard of problem porn usage should be recognised but not exaggerated. Personally, I know I've used it way too much, so I'm better off avoiding it, until I'm beyond sexual frustration. Doesn't mean I need to pretend it's deadly poison, and feel like a total depressed failure if I've used it recently. That's another shitty mindset trap.

I hope you weren't about to try to convince her to change her political views over text messages. The redpill cynic(?) in me says, tentatively: that'd just happen automatically if she got really into you, and you were a confident rightwinger or whatever. Therefore if you meet a rightwing woman, don't get overexcited as if you've found a rare specimen. It only means her previous boyfriend wasn't a shitlib.

It seems as if she's nervous, or possibly doesn't want to hang out with me as she's about 2 years older. There are no grounds for this speculation about her reasons. She's not interested in you now, that's all we know. I see nothing 'odd' about this! You might as well be strangers to each other by now. If you wanted to contact her, no reason to involve the grandparents. Used Facebook? Doing it directly is best.

You can't prevent your future self from craving something appetising. So be realistic about the temptation that you'll need to contend with. Forget about trying to control your feelings, accept that you're going to feel what you'll feel, prepare yourself to respond properly, regardless of how you feel. Write down two lists: good things that you can make happen if you stay away from her. And shitty things that'll happen if you get back together.
/r/askTRP11/06/17 06:03 PM

Cool. She had a good first impression of you. Other girls will give you a chance. You're not going to have anything to do with her again, so her opinion of you objectively doesn't matter. There's no use in letting her or anyone know how bad she made you feel. You've dwelled on it yourself enough, I bet.

Great stuff. The mindset-first perspective is a trap. Seems it can be reinforced by the self-help industry, as you mention. It's easier to sit and try to mimic successful thinking, rather than go out there and imitate successful action. It appeals to our weaker sides: laziness, fear of risk, self-absorption.

The only way to know if it's a shit test is to pass it. But this doesn't sound like it. Maybe she just got bored of your texting. You could have made the error of sating her curiosity about you. Ask her out again. (Unless you already did and she didn't respond.)

If she has something to tell you, or ask you, she can write it down and deliver it to you email/SMS. She's history, so who cares about her intentions? If she wants to communicate with you, you can do it on your terms. As above I recommend text, to keep emotions out of it, to minimise irrational kneejerk reactions. She won't like this, I expect. After she has some time to cool down, meet her in public so she can verbally get it out of her system. Then she'll leave you alone? Maybe? I hope. No gua…

Here's a way for nerd types to build confidence: write and publish online. Blog on the technical subjects you know about. First, write technical stuff that's relevant for those in your field. Then connect it with topics that normies care about. Build authority, get comfortable speaking in person about it. Get competent and knowledgeable enough and perhaps get into public speaking. Good for your career too.

Most online dating systems are geared towards new users. I sign up, use it for two to three weeks, delete, and cycle to a new one or simply find women through other means. The longer you use any given system the worse that system is. Hm. Good to know. Some people use a bunch of apps/sites at the same time, but that seems... desperate, time consuming, and life-complicating. I used to use 2-3. There are many more. The problem with porn is: it's too easy. I can easily find what satisfies me. At no cost. But then it won't satisfy me so much any more. Hence, escalation. I became more picky. That's not a bad thing in itself, but it meant more energy being spent on finding good stuff. And then, paying money for it. The cure for escalation is: restraint. Temporary nofap. But I've chosen the porn-free option. No half-measures for me. I've seen enough porn in my years anyway. With limited success so far, I've beg…

Aversion = you keep away from it, you avoid it. It might be from fear. I don't know the motives. But it's good to be able to be alone, without much pain. Being alone is better than being with someone who would treat you badly. And you don't need to be 100% alone. Connect with old friends or new people.

Somehow it makes me feel like she isn't interested anymore but she talk's about saving up together for a house which gives me hope you know? That shouldn't give you hope. Your own instincts are telling you she's not interested in you. But she's interested in your money. After she dumped you, giving her another chance was a mistake. Both of you have a strong aversion to being single, it seems. This behaviour is probably rational on her part, but, I'd proffer, not yours.

Get a clearer idea of exactly what you want. Like, how long should it last for? And what specific qualities should the woman have? What will you do together? Live together? Share serious responsibilities, or only share joyful experiences? How MUCH money do you want to spend on her? Or let the gods of randomness decide for you. But then, there's no point asking for advice now.

No disagreement from me here. Intra-social-group competition isn't such a hard game. But there's inter-group competition, and all indications are there'll be increasingly more of it. The sudden challenge from the random alpha dude from the other side of the world will get more and more real with technology-enabled globalisation. Dating is an area of life that's less vulnerable, more locally-bounded, I'll grant. But what about when virtual reality socialising really takes off?

For it to be cuckoldry means the women involved would be 'mine'. Do you think the thousands of girls using Tinder really 'belong' to the men working on Tinder? I expect to profit from my work on building the future of social networks. I might achieve some degree of improved dating success through the system, like any other user. Men aren't created equal. So if one man's ex-girlfriend goes on to date a superior man, then that first guy could celebrate his role in contributing to this humankind-advancing relationship. In some manner. The two dudes aren't going to be friends, obviously, but moping and stewing in resentment won't do the first guy any good. So I agree with this.

The story about the Red Pill documentary says it all. Without claiming that the film is totally reliable (never seen it) you offered him an opportunity to learn, he's deliberately chosen to maintain a state of ignorance, because he thinks that'll help him keep valuable things he has. You can't shove truth down someone's throat. Even if they'd benefit from accepting it. All that's left to do is... love him. Don't lie to him. Give him truthful advice when he asks for it.

Sensible policy. Fit in and be productive. Some will call this cowardice, I call it smart. Free speech isn't free, you need to fight for it. That could mean: build up a good enough reputation, then you can say what you like, profitably. Or speak bluntly and openly and take the consequences. Depending on what you feel you need to say, it'll take some amount of sacrifice. It's cheap to go along with the herd. Edit: I split the above into two paragraphs. They might seem in conflict but... Seems sensible to not have sex if one thinks she'll probably regret it later. So I don't do one night stands. That's my approach to being careful out there. I want to get to know a woman first. (Q. How's that working out for you? A. I'm a virgin, single, with no legal or reputational troubles...)

A redpilled beta could find a new purpose in helping alphas. E.g. developing the next hot new dating app that helps the top 10% of men have even more sex, more efficiently. Living the player lifestyle vicariously or being the ultimate cyber-wingman. If they could get over their resentment, imagine the possibilities! That's what I thought this would be about. Beta doesn't mean bluepill. Awareness alone doesn't elevate a guy to the status of the natural elite.

This is one of my research interests. Edit: Here's where I discuss the feminist argument against sexbots. It comes down to the anti-porn arguments, other than the ones about mistreatment of pornstars. Sexbots makers are guilty of promoting sexual objectification, which will, it's argued, cause mistreatment of real women. So they'll try to ban them. Before that, they'll try to use shame to keep them unpopular. And it's certainly not only the feminists who'll be taking the piss out of this obvious…

Sure, proposing after just 8 weeks is a bad move. He should have kept the relationship non-exclusive, but he liked her too much. He wanted to keep her. Is this spinelessness? I suppose... But he ain't married her yet. To tell her she'll 'forever be his one and only' is... well it IS a legal contract. But a breakable one. He must know he still has the option of dumping her. And he must know that he could still get dumped himself!

There's nothing wrong with marrying someone and adopting their children. But dating has nothing to do with accepting the other person's children. Children have nothing to do with their single parent's love life. The kids might not even like the new guy.

Sound analysis. Going back to real-life-based meeting doesn't need to be some sort of revolt against technology. It's just, very possibly, a better solution for the individual guy. Dating apps have indeed changed the game. I think it's going to get 'worse' as the technology evolves. Adapt or die. Now in the west, in the young adult age group, IRL approaching sets a man apart from the crowd: so it IS adaptive. Without shouldering any burden of 'fixing the system'. A humble, realistic approach.
