It's anyone's guess, but I believe otherwise. To me it's akin to criminal law. It doesn't exist to actually stop people from committing crimes, it exists so that the punishment of people who committed crime serve as an example to others, so that they don't. After seeing a few die on the street or their house being left to burn down, people would consider opting out more carefully. But yeah, this all is highly hypothetical, as it's not happening in my lifetime.

So, fellow software engineer, what about decentralized bittorrent-like content distribution (markup, compressed), provided through very small (open) native reader app. No content ever deleted, just moderated (marked), with users able to pick which moderator's actions they want to see (or not, when said mod banned someone).
