This is just the logical conclusion of collectivist identity politics. Identitarians have this collectivist worldview whereby they expect all members of a group to share the same ideology. Feminism is therefore not just an ideology shared by some women, but a female ideology (in the view of identitarians). This is why women who criticise feminism are cast as gender traitors, or why black people who criticise BLM are called "coon" or "house nigger". Anyone who is part of the demographic, but does not endorse the ideology bound to that demographic, must be cast as not truly belonging to that demographic (i.e. identity erasure).

Now, the converse side of casting feminism as the female ideology or BLM as the black ideology is casting white supremacy as the white ideology.

So the propositional calculus follows:

Proposition 1: People who disagree with the prescribed ideologies of their demographic aren't real members of that demographic, but instead part of the other, bad demographic.

Proposition 2: People must subscribe to the ideology of their demographic.

Proposition 3: The ideology of non-female non-black people is white supremacism/misogyny/assorted bigotry.

From P1, P2 and P3 follows the conclusion: people who disagree with feminism/social justice/etc. must be white supremacists, or some other type of bigot.

Here's the thing, I agree that this post mischaracterizes the subreddit by equating all of its members with the extremists that definitely exist within the community at large. I have said as much in OP's thread. But as a subreddit we should be careful not to do the very same things and make the very same assertions about other groups. We should strive to make this a place where open debate is championed and where blanket hate and dismissal of other groups and their member's opinions are each weighed on their own.

There are alot of things that could change for the better within this community and, while I don't believe that radical racism is one of them, we should use this as an opportunity to grow as a community and to show those who have recently been exposed to our views that we are open to others opinions. We should strive to keep the group think and generalizing of other groups out of this community.

P. S I think a good step towards these goals would be a "devils advocate day" where we openly invite debate and other viewpoints from within and without our community.

They are going to dig their own grave by not trying to come to a consensus or establish a dialogue with those with opposing viewpoints. I'll be frank, there are some pretty radical views on here that I actively disagree with. Mostly these are anti-female comments that basically hate on women (e.g. by suggesting they shouldn't be able to work or take paid maternity leave). Such comments are mean-spirited and have nothing to do with men. If anything, they show a lack of understanding with regard to happily married men, who want a fair go for their wives and daughters (REAL men stand up for mothers, sisters, wives and daughters!!!)

This is one of the better subreddits on the issue of mens rights because I genuinely think that many people are here to highlight areas where men are struggling and discuss positive ways forward (e.g. with mental health, suicide, bullying and incarceration rates). How can we reverse these stats?

When speaking about mens rights, I think men need to focus on REAL issues (not hatred towards women) and think of positive ways forward that don't involve sledging other groups. Also, I think we need to be sensitive/compassionate towards the needs of other groups.

Oh and it's not a frigging political thing! I'm starting to hear more and more guys on here saying 'white men and their right-wing views are being neglected'. Improving the health and welbeing of men who have it tough isn't about promoting a right-wing (or left-wing) agenda. IMO confusing it with politics can get pretty nasty and it distracts from the greater cause... men who die too young due to legitimate social/health issues.

This is crazy to me. I'm a proud advocate of men's rights. I also despise everything the white supremacists stand for, and I think it's despicable that Donald Trump refuses to make a full-throated condemnation of the white supremacists. I didn't vote for Donald Trump in 2016 and I will vote for whoever runs against him in 2020. Trump appeals to the worst of us.

One of the reasons I'm such an advocate of men's rights is that I agree with those who say police shootings and police brutality are out of control in this country. Black men are targeted the most of all, but regardless of skin color, men are far more likely to be killed by police officers than women. That's seen as a "liberal" issue but it's really just an issue of equality. And my strong belief in equality is why I strongly believe in men's rights.

I lurk a lot here when posts reach all but I've never joined because I am put of by what seems to me, a lot of hateful posts aimed at women, liberals, and social activists that disagree. I agree that men often get the raw deal in the modern western world. I agree that women get a lot of special treatment and modern feminism is often unrealistic, uninformed, and has a toxic culture. But, I can't fully commit to this group, because the toxicity is all too often reflected back instead of overcome.

It can be difficult to find men's rights groups that don't immediately go right. Why? Probably because all radicalized fems are ultra-left and the left has no men's rights friendly political platforms.

Not that the right does either, but they are willing to lie and say that they will or make minimum gestures.

So get out there and let your liberal politicians know that you want to be part of their platform so that the next generation of men don't all flock to the right because they think that they are the only ones who give a shit about them.

Perhaps a change in your subs rules to reflect an effort to shift from that kind of hateful rhetoric or even a post condemning the actions r/the_donald similar subs advocate for would go a long way in putting you in the good graces of this website. Anyone actually watching the videos of the attack (you may have to browse /pol/ for all of them, media only shares clips supporting their narrative) can clearly see protesters hit his car from behind with baseball bats, causing him to panic and accelerate forward.

The reason he backs over them is the bat wielding mob had pursued him as he fled.

The ones hit in front are unfortunate. But ultimately not the driver's fault. The anti-UTR crowd harmed itself by getting violent.

I am not at all offended by a comparison to this driver. Like MRAs he was afraid of a real threat, and is being demonized for doing what he had to to survive.
