Knowing the answer to the question I ask is what makes it funny not offensive, gives the opener a bit of endearment. However, the reason I like it is because asking "Hey, question" is just a super easy way to get a ladies full attention. I mean who's not going to stop to to answer a friendly persons inquiry.

You know I have the opposite problem; I'm more comfortable in new environments. The way I see it the newer the environment the less likely hood you'll ever see those people again. So you can go ahead and do all the silly shit you want friend until you're nice and warmed up.
