Befriend them, meet their hot friends. Don't shit where you eat.

A cool bar, relatively close to your place. It should have dim lighting. You should be able to speak and hear each other easily. It should have some interesting beers/drinks (don't bring her to an overly expensive place unless you plan to pay for the whole thing). Sit at the bar. If you can't sit at the bar, sit at a table so the two of you are at a right angle to one another - never sit across from her as it prohibits touching. That's it. Don't over think it.

You're going to have to rely a lot more on cold approaches, as your social circle becomes less dependable (but remember, also slightly less important) to introduce you to new women. Logistics are also a bit more important, as you're not pulling girls directly back to your dorm from from the party in your common room. You now actually have to take girls on dates. Don't fret - take them to a cool, cheap bar and have a beer. Do not do dinner dates. It wasn't until around about a year after college …

I completely disagree. The three day rule is completely antiquated and you will miss out on numerous opportunities by following it. The idea that you are so busy over the course of three days that you can't text sporadically is a crock of shit in today's world and she will clearly take it as you playing games. You should be sending a text message immediately after getting her number, and ideally, getting her number shouldn't be the end of the set. Even keeping things going a few minutes after yo…

Cut ties, move on. Don't invest energy in someone who doesn't reciprocate. Guarantee you that if you just GENUINELY ignore (like, don't just stop talking to her - forget about her and go pursue someone else) her she'll come back to you.

Figured as much. I see his Reddit account is still very active, but the last e-mail I have from him was noting how he was moving to Tokyo, and were changing over e-mail and Twitter accounts, but never received any communication from either.

It's your body, and your life. "Wrong" is hardly a concept that applies in determining what you're comfortable doing. If you're uncomfortable, or want to wait for any other reason, then wait. It's unreasonable to think that you should be forced into something (anything - regardless if it's sex) because you're supposed to be a 'man' about it. Don't let someone tell you "it's not a big deal" if you feel it is.

His general look is that of a disheveled bad-boy. He's exceptionally good-looking (and high-status) so he can pull it off.

Chances are extremely high that if you try to pull off a Colin Farrell/bad-boy look you'll fail miserably because it will not be congruent with who you are. Your most important priority is to find clothes that fit: a well fitted, simple shirt is much more attractive than a button down half-opened with leather pants. Once you understand fit, then start experimenting.

Ah, valid - I'm not much of a club guy, but I do get what you're saying. Perhaps switching up your venues a bit? I have found cooler girls at pubs and dives anyway.

Some thoughts: 'Energetic' may sometimes come off as nervous, or on drugs, or something else. Perhaps focusing on speaking more slowly will benefit you. It's very hard to escalate in groups, or hold their attention long. Focus on isolation. 'Getting in and out' is great advice for a group. Get in, make them laugh, leave a hook for later, and get out. Later on, you can start talking to one of them again and it'll be much easier since she already 'knows' you and then you can go from there.

This is a pitifully bad article and the type of ideas that should not be condoned in this subreddit. This also ruined any notion I had of women being kind. This man has unhealthy problems with women. Perhaps the 'Hollywood' concept of romance is a farce and not at all practical given what we know. However, genuine romance (alternatively, love) is real and can be cultivated in a healthy relationship between two well-adjusted, equal partners.

I think you really need to refocus all this energy you're exerting it on women, and channel it towards focusing on yourself, and developing more male relationships in your life. I blame myself completely for everything that happens, I over think, I analyze, I see where I went wrong and what I can do to fix it. I wake up sometimes and it's the first thing on my mind. I get stressed when things go badly with me and girls. This resonated with me, because I went through this phase. It occurs because…

Get better friends that aren't jealous that you're talking to a girl. Stop talking about boring shit. Talk about the shit you care about. Stop going to events that you don't enjoy.

It never goes a way... you just begin to realize that the end result, regardless of what it is (including being rejected), is better than succumbing to it.

A few things to consider: Is this girl worth hours of sitting on a train? If you hit things off, where and how are you going to escalate? How would you feel if a girl you just met was going out of her way to travel this far to see you? I'd be a little creeped.

I would never want to date a girl who cheated with me on her boyfriend, but hey that's just me.

Yes - perfect! A few months ago, I was visiting home, and ran into a girl I crushed hard on in like 9th grade. We talked, said our goodbyes, and then I added her on FB. Just yesterday(!) she sent me a FB message as she saw that I attended a concert of her favorite bands, and she's going to be moving in from the suburbs into my current city and wants to meet up. Numbers exchanged, and I'll be seeing her next week - all on ZERO effort from my part.

This is one bit of advice Tofu that I have to disagree on. My girlfriends always lament on how they get creeped out when guys add them on FB too quickly, regardless the level of interaction they had. I could see this advice being used for girls you KNOW are long-shots and will most likely never see again so it's a fine roll of the dice since you lose nothing, but if it's girl you could see again I'm very much against the FB friend request.

Easy with the "disrespect" there. A girl can be disinterested in you and that has nothing to do with whether or not she respects you or not.

I disagree completely with the idea that you can't get "good" at working out. It's a different skill set, sure, but there is a tremendous amount of skill involved (and required for heavier weights).

Amplifying it - agreeing with them and taking it several notches up - is the best way generally to deflect shit tests. The real trick is recognizing what she's saying as a shit test and then just making a joke of it, and showing it doesn't faze you.

Yeah, good point. I'm a 20-something in the US, so it would be incredibly weird for me to not have one. Every girl I have met on OkC has requested to friend me on FB before we went out, and I think it's a completely reasonable request.

No, don't do this. Normal people, even high value people, have Facebook profiles. Not having one is an instant red flag, which will scare a girl off[1][2] 1: Personal experience 2: BFF girl who told me so.

Your issue is that you don't think of women as sexual beings, and thus feel 'dirty', as if you're tricking them into doing something that they don't want to do. Go look at r/sex, r/gonewild, r/ladyboners or the numerous sexual fantasy threads on r/askreddit and then really ask yourself if women don't enjoy sex. Stop feeling wrong about it, man.

That does seem like a lot, but I did it for a bit and it sort made me realize that people generally LIKE talking to one another. This was very important for me, because a huge part of my AA (it never goes away) is related to the thought, "Oh - she doesn't want to be bothered". Another GREAT way to get over AA in a club/bar setting is to sort of hover behind a girl at the bar, approach from the side (as you would on a regular approach), and just ask her to get you a glass of order when she goes t…

Shut up and listen. Women, for the most part, like to talk, especially about themselves. So let them talk. Take in what she's saying about herself, and come to udnerstand who she is. Do not try to interrupt her, belittle, or attempt to out do her with a story of her own. However, do not supplicate - direct the conversation to what you want to talk about. Further, listening is not sitting there and asking a hundred questions in rapid fire. Ask a question, wait for her response, then probe deeper …

This is, BY FAR, the best video I have seen on pick-up. Experience is king. Forget about all the shit you read, opinions you form - it means NOTHING in the face of direct, field experience. Stop with the damn mental masturbation, clean your shit up, and get out and fail, fail, fail, until you gain enough experience to figure out what the fuck you're talking about.

There's an episode that isn't up there that I saw today, with a super nerdy guy (who probably posts on reddit) that was just awful. Though, in that episode the girl gets rejected - the guy was just like, uhhh no and walked away. Still, interesting observation.

It definitely works. It removes the mindset in which you reward yourself for failure (by whacking it, sexual pleasure). I'm a hornball so when I don't have that ability to just release my sexual desire on my own it makes me work harder on developing my self so I can go out and meet new people which might lead to sexy time. Plus, it makes sex better.

Picking up girls at the workplace is still something I avoid, namely because it can get them into trouble and put them in an uncomfortable position. They may want to talk to you, but their looming manager may prevent them from doing so. Alternatively, they may have no interest, but their manager forces them to make small chat with customers. Depending on the workplace, the presence of coworkers can have an either larger impact on how receptive they are than friends would if they were out (rightf…
