Oh I agree that the the interpretation it is spot on. I meant it’s been overlooked a bit in the discussion that has ensued about the show itself. But you’re right, it’s not preachy or message-y, in fact, the subtlety really drives home the point at how pervasive abuse is in how it slowly creeps up to the surface.

This show was incredibly triggering but absolutely necessary for me to watch. The dynamics between her and her parents are overlooked a bit , imo. Alex didn’t just pick a bad guy to end up with just because he was charming and had a scruffy beard… it’s her parents that set her up to end up there, in various ways. That’s not to say I’m blaming her mother outright for setting that example, but her neuroticism and the role reversal that had to occur (Alex mothering her own mother) set her up to see…

In jiu jitsu size and strength aren’t first or second determinants in whether you can subjugate an opponent or not. This is why it’s widely regarded as the martial art for women to use as a self defense skill. It’s about immobilizing the other person into tapping out because you’ve got them in a hold that will put them to sleep and/or in an immense amount of pain that is the result of being able to break their arms or legs.

I do believe that there will be times when men will realize that what they have is too precious to lose and is worth changing for. But it will only come when we decide that we are worthy of the world and much more, and well, if he doesn’t agree, then good riddance! And if he does agree, and does make an effort, that still doesn’t mean I have to stick around because what I want has changed. It’s so liberating!

Girl... I’m in the same exact boat. I pretty much told him exactly how I felt and it seems he’s making an effort but separation is now on the table and he’s fully aware of it. I’m done putting in 150% while he scrapes by. It’s all about me now.

She has her own skin care line and sells a titanium dioxide powder that is invisible and can be applied over make up! I’ve never seen another product like it so it’s worth a look. She always does reels and posts of her applying it. https://azimdskincare.com/collections/sun-protection/products/uv-clear-powder

Follow Dr. Azi on Instagram! She gives great advice. SPF 15 covers about 94% of UV rays while SPF30 blocks 97%, which is adequate for most people. If you plan on staying outdoors all day then it is recommended to go for the high SPF sunscreens but they tend to be very thick and greasy. I bring this up because there are a lot of really nice, non-greasy, lightweight AND inexpensive SPF 15 moisturizers for your face. I use Olay’s sensitive moisturizer with SPF 15 and apply it religiously every 2 hr…

As soon as I read that post I knew I was gonna see it on here! I can’t speak to the veracity of it. But if true, and I were her, I’d be happy! She needs to start leveling up herself so they become a power couple instead of being insecure of him leaving. And if he does, thank you, next!

Yep and he was there with her. If you read the story, the way it goes is that she handed it to him, meaning that he was there the entire time that she was being deceived by the snake. If Adam had been a HVM he would have stopped her.

That’s right, judgement and shame have a place in society. It’s so people start acting right and stop behaving in ways that are detrimental to the well being of individuals, communities etc

Only NV/LV people with no self awareness get triggered by a sub that’s dedicated to the empowerment of women. And this sub serves two purposes. First and foremost, to teach and encourage one another as women. And two, to shame LV/NVM so that maybe they start looking at themselves and their garbage behavior. If you can’t get with it, too bad!

Congrats! I hope to be in your shoes in the near future. I’ve been reading tons on codependent relationships, childhood trauma, etc. But I’m at the point where I know I need therapy so my first appointment is next month. Putting in the work, works!

I’ve never liked her music tbh. The lyrics and tone always made her sound like she was dragging herself in front of a man for his attention. Gross. edit: Seeing this also makes me reminisce and cringe at when I behaved the same way for men who did not care how much I served myself on a platter for them. LVM do not care for emotional intimacy, whether engineered or authentic.
