I’m a senior in college majoring in biochemistry and I’ve studied psychology quite extensively on my own. These “happy hormones” are called dopamine and oxytocin. Oxytocin is a bonding hormone that helps people feel love,(which is particularly damaging when there technically is no one to love when it’s pictures) while dopamine just makes you feel good. The only reason why they are emotional now is because of where society has gone. Studies have shown that men of this generation have lower testosterone. It has been steadily decreasing.
