I’m Slipping: Getting Myself into TherapyYou’re doing better than me, and probably most guys out there in similar situations. Recognizing you have issues to work through, and taking steps to actively manage the pain is already something you’re doing. Therapy is helpful to process the feelings and emotions, it’s not a failure, it’s just another step in the right direction. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/02/26 03:46 AM
Managing not to cryNo shade taken. Sometimes a long hard honest look in the mirror is something that’s needed. I stopped smoking and plan to keep on this path. My therapist has suggested trying other medication, and I’m open to it, but feel like I’m struggling with just wanting to be with my kids and much as possible and then dealing with myself in 2 weeks. Thanks for being honest. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/02/26 03:10 AM
Managing not to cryYou’re right, I’ve stopped smoking, and I’m determined to stay on this path if that’s what my kids need and I need. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/02/26 03:07 AM
Managing not to cryThank you for the thoughtful response. It proves I’m on the right path here. I intend to follow the orders to a T. I found a little house to rent that has 2 bedrooms so I’m just going to move forward with that. I’m scared for my kids, they are not prepared, but I will try to be their rock when needed. I need to take care of myself and it’s hard when everything is so one sided. I have a therapist, we’ve reached a point where she usually just listens and reminds me I can’t control others, I can on… | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/02/26 03:04 AM
Managing not to cryThe house is empty and I could find a temporary living solution if I knew I was going to purchase. They refuse to do a private sale and even refuse to tell me a general purchase price so I could make a decision about buying it. I have an alternative house to rent and will sign the lease this weekend. It’s a great transition close to where the kids will be with 2 beds and comparative/cheaper to 2 bed apartment options in the area. It’s just a year long which just ties up capital if the place I wa… | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/02/26 12:03 AM
Managing not to cryIm in individual therapy, I was in a legal state with a medical card and weed helped me to check out for a few hours every night. Im not against medication, I just find myself loosing it when im holding my kids or playing with them because I know im loosing that precious time with them in 2 weeks. Guess im an addict though, so much that my own mother was trying to do an intervention…lol | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/02/26 11:55 PM
Managing not to cryIt’s hard to let go of 16 years, I know everyone’s right with this advice, it’s very abrupt to go from her asking to come have sex in the shower two months ago, and now going through a divorce and being called a narcissist daily | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/02/26 11:51 PM
Managing not to cryIt’s provisional, I was court ordered to leave March 1. I was trying to buy my grandmothers vacant house down the street but my entire family seems against me, I found a house to rent but need to sign a 1 year lease which would restrict me if this house does finally go up for sale. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/02/26 11:40 PM
