I mean ... I'm not seeing people trying to cancel FDS? I'm seeing people express that they were unhappy with the content, unhappy with the choice of guest to present that content and that they'd withdraw their financial support if this is the direction it's going in. Which is fine. Why wouldn't it be? I think you're overreacting to the 'overreactors' to be honest. As much as you wouldn't believe it sometimes, people in this community are allowed to disagree with the decisions the heads of FDS ma…

I was just talking to my SO, as his brother has just moved in with his girlfriend of less than a year. The brother doesn't do laundry or cook much, he used to bring his laundry to his mom once every month and have her batch cook dinners for him. He lives off burgers and nuggets. I asked my SO how they were doing, he said that she doesn't seem to mind doing all his laundry and cooking for him so they're getting on well, and she's secretly determined to get him to eat better. Oh, she also wants to…

I received an auto ban with no explanation from the main feminism sub. It might have been because of my activity here or it might have been because I follow some other subs that are the wrong kind of feminism. Because you're only allowed to participate in feminist discussion if you centre men and support third wave ideas.

I remember this article coming out. I'm pretty sure the scrote and his ex did interview tours and he was writing a book. I hate him. Even in 'getting it' he doesn't fucking get it. You should do your fair share of emotional labour to prove you care about her? No dipshit, you should do your fair share of emotional labour because you're a functional adult with children and a family and you should respect yourself to do it, let alone respect your wife and children. He sounds so resentful, even whil…

Awful lot of men describe themselves as 'single dads' when what they really mean is 'i look after my child all by myself one weekend a month'
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/09/21 01:03 PM

This is absolutely true. So many men I filtered out because when I asked them about kids they'd reply 'none yet' and when I said 'none for me ever' they'd quickly change their tune to 'oh, me either'. They'll say whatever they need to and do a brilliant job hedging their bets. The only time I believe a man is childfree is when I see proof of a vasectomy.

My name is very boring so I always thought I might change it if I found a partner with a more interesting name. My current partner has a name just about as boring as mine. In addition to that, I've now established a career under my current name and have watched by sibling go through the pain of changing her name and then changing it back. So no, I wouldn't change my name.

I think it depends on a huge amount of factors. Is he earning enough to sustain his own lifestyle and participate in the lifestyle that I want? Then it's fine by me. Is he in a career where there's real potential to earn more as time goes on? Then it's fine by me. Other than a few k difference in earnings are you on the same page in terms of home ownership, plans for the future, life stage? Then it's fine by me. I earn more than my partner but I'm also 5 years older and have been working 9 years…

Yeah fair enough. For me it's less about their living situation and more the imposition into mine. I own my house alone and that tends to make men who live with their parents or roomies think they can abuse my hospitality. I've got a really low social quota as is and the energy I do have I want to spend outside on dates not tidying my house so they can come over for the sixth weekend in a row.

I simply hold them to the same standard I hold myself to. I, like you, moved out of a toxic parental home early and haven't been back since. In the early years i dated a couple of guys who lived with their parents and found that they did their level best to a) treat coming to my house like it was a substitute for a date b) treat coming to my house like a weekend in a hotel and c) try to move in super early. Since then I've refused to date anyone who lives in a situation with no privacy. It doesn…

Do they really think that he got to that point without his high school mates sitting him down and having a word, his parents (who he murdered) asking him to get help and some misguided women trying to explain to him what's wrong? Childfree means I don't want children of my own in my life. I will not birth them, I will not adopt them, I will not stepmother them. Literally the only situation in which I'd date a man with children is if I am single again in 20+ years and he has adult children who are completely financially independent. As you say, people who use 'childfree' simply to mean 'not yet' are not childfree and contribute to doctors and society not believing us. Between 10 - 20 % of women reach menopause never havin…

No man would be worth this sacrifice, let alone a cop. Why is he telling her all the disparaging remarks instead of keeping them to himself? Why is he telling everyone their financial business? Because he agrees with the comments and is trying to manipulate her into not protecting herself. He is not worth this.

One of the forms of communication which I have worked on in the last few years is to tell, not to ask. Not 'X is on and I'd really love to do that, shall we go?' But 'I'm going to X, are you interested or shall I call my friends?' It's too easy to slide into not doing something because your partner isn't on board, which with my LVM ex resulted in my not doing a load of things I wanted to do, and regretting it. I guess the ultimate form of communication is letting your actions show that you don't…

The issue I have with every professional women's group I've looked into joining is that they basically end up encouraging competition to be the one that can work hardest, do the longest hours, juggle the most household and child management and bemoaning that women have to work twice as hard as men for the same recognition while doing nothing but reinforce that position. I'd love to see one that's a feminist support network that actually supports women instead of fostering competition but I don't…

Should we stop raping black children? No, it's the white women who are wrong. What the fuck. Edit: I'm usually the first to say that mainstream liberal feminism is too white and middle class. That's why they support sex work. Women campaigning for Oxfam to stop raping and trafficking black children is literally the opposite of this. Fuck Oxfam.

I know a few married couples who play D&D as a group, twice a week, two different campaigns. They're mostly high school sweethearts with kids and middle class jobs; however they're all also co-dependent and socially disfunctional with no remaining other friends, and who never do anything else except play D&D.

The YoUrE jUsT jEaLoUs defence is infantile and people should grow out of it in primary school. It's the exact same reflex as they 'theyre just haters' response. My ex was really insidious about battering my self esteem around hair and clothes. It wasn't that hair cuts were unnatural, it was that they were expensive and time consuming and why would I want to go to the hairdresser when we could be together at home instead and anyway he hates short hair but of course he'd never tell me what to do. A child was born in my family with a recessive disability that was previously not known to run in the family. As a result of this, I underwent genetic testing and found I am a carrier of the recessive gene. There is a one in 25ish chance that anyone in the population carries this gene. If my partner carried the gene there is a one in 4 chance our child would have the illness. There is, therefore, a 1 in 100 chance any child of mine would have the illness. I've found that women often can be very unhappy in a relationship but don't feel like they 'have an excuse' to leave, because society has taught us that it's not good enough to just be unhappy, that must be because we're doing something wrong, the man must have done something big. So it takes evidence of cheating or financial abuse or physical abuse for it to be okay for a woman to leave, and even then for many people it's not enough to stop them trying to get you to go back to him. So women are…

For me, I don't believe in engagement without the intent to actually start planning the wedding. Wedding planning can take time and most couples I know get married up to two years after announcing the engagement but have actively planned to marry the whole time. Whether ten months is too soon to get engaged is entirely up to you but I would caution against intending on a 'long engagement'. A lot of men propose to 'prove' they're serious with no intention of actually getting married.

I think 16 is a fine age for peers to be having sex. Teenagers gonna be teenagers. I even think there should be some leeway around turning a blind eye legally speaking if, say, the teenagers are 15 and 16 in the same school year. I absolutely think that some provision in law needs to be made to keep teens safe from predators though and it's wrong that a man in his 40s can legally have sex with a 16 year old. Maybe limit the age of consent to plus or minus two years until the age of 19 or somethi…

It's funny now they know 'its fine' is a terrible answer when it comes to ending an argument or making a bad 'compromise'. My headcannon is that the men had their first wives, who got sick of their shit and divorced them. These women are now the 65+ single group living their best lives and refusing to settle into a carer role ever again. Oh I don't think that's fair at all. Plenty of women on FDS will tell you how they had to fight to separate from their crappy upbringing and make it for themselves. Bad parents I can deal with (it would be hypocritical of me not to) the important thing is how they deal with their parents - are appropriate boundaries in place? Do they acknowledge any issues? Drama, no I will not have that. But bad parents don't equal drama in a well adjusted person.

Never suggested an alternative date. Every single time I've seen him since he's asked why we never worked out. Met though OLD, and old friend from my teenage years. Asked if he fancied getting a drink, he said no he was busy. Never suggested an alternative date. Met th…

How does he react if you are unavailable for an evening because you're out with your girls or some other reason? I find a pretty good tell between a guy who is keen or a guy who is lovebombing for control is whether they understand that time apart is healthy and don't badger you for updates when you're apart.

Find something that can double as a weapon and a tool or ornament and keep it in your bedroom. The UK police aren't fans of people keeping actual weapons around but you can lamp an intruder with a handy item and not get prosecuted. The difference is in how you answer the question 'why do you have a hockey stick next to your bed?' the answer is not 'self defence' the answer is 'i keep it for sentimental reasons but have nowhere better to store it'. If you can't add locks to your doors you can add…

You reckon? Struck me as the POV of a man those women wouldn't look at twice because they want a career or educational peer. They claim to be a fellow PhD woman but I don't believe it

Absolutely! The men who i appear to intimidate are ones who fail the base level of requirement before vetting even starts! They live with their parents in their 30s or have kids from women they never married or have no job / base job with no career trajectory or they don't drive. I'm delighted to intimidate these men before they waste my time.

FDS clearly describes the men we don't want. If these guys apply that to #allmen, then that shows the quality of them, their friends and their family. Funny how quickly they forget their idiotic cry of #notallnen when it comes to actually being expected to hold themselves to some standards.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
