The thing about school (not university) is that up to a certain age (Alberta has it at 16), you are legally obligated to attend. At least you don't have to go to university.

In grade six, one of the kids pulled one of the cables from the computers in the classroom, which led network downtime. They assumed that it must have been a boy, so they disabled the computer accounts for all the boys in the classroom, until they could figure out who it was. Rumour was that it was actually a girl who tripped over it, but I could never confirm it. While it wasn't something serious, it felt pretty bad to be treated like you did something wrong just because of your gender.

Sort of unrelated, but I really hate all this real man bullshit. Somehow, doing or not doing a certain thing makes me a "fake" man? And basically, this solidifies gender roles, which feminists claim to be against.

It is quite close though. Later in the report, it says that 99% of the perpetrators for female victims were sole men, while 79% of the perpetrators for male were sole women.

Something similar, albeit less extreme happened to me in Grade 6. So someone pulled out a cable from a computer which ended up messing up the school network. The court ruled that the state's interest in ensuring that a minor receives child support outweighed its interest in potentially deterring crimes against minors. Why should it be more important that the minor receive money, rather than crimes be deterred? That's seriously fucked up.

This is pure speculation, but it might be because how many people are qualified to do the job, i.e. it is easier to find a qualified employee for a childcare position, than it is to find for a engineering position. Basically, a engineer is scarcer (more scarce?) than a childcare worker, thus driving up wages for the engineer.

There's a different punishment for rape and sexual assault in the USA? AFAIK, in Canada, there's no crime called rape. It's all considered sexual assault, which isn't gender biased. From wikipedia: Sexual assault is defined as sexual contact with another person without that other person's consent. You make some valid points about the support issues though. It is quite sad that the rape definition is still biased against me.

By the way, that 1 in 2 stat is from a 1993 report. http://www.canadianwomen.org/facts-about-violence#9 See source 9. They say they used this source because the Canada Gov. didn't conduct another study. That's a shitty excuse in my opinion.

Both partners had a role in the conception; it’s only fair that they should both take responsibility for its economic consequences. It's also "only fair" that both receive equal rights. Only when men are able to "opt out", so to speak, of fatherhood (with no more responsibilities, but also no more contact) , should we continue placing more financial responsibilities on them. Even if that theory is correct, and Hillary Clinton knew about it, her quote doesn't really stand, because the dead soldiers also have fathers which are hurt, sons who hurt, and some cases, even boyfriends/husbands (if they're gay). So, men are also hurt by war in the way Clinton describes.
