Definitely, which is why it's a characteristic of abuse victims. A lot of women stay glued to the toxic ideals they are raised with

If chad worship really wasn't allowed you would have nuked this entire sub ages ago

I don't think you want the right men if that's the case

You say this very cleanly but irl having a divorce pending for six years is highly abnormal, and I can't think of a situation where it wouldn't speak to something unresolved about the situation itself, rather than mere logistical disagreements. So you end up in situations like the recent ex of someone my friend apparently knows, where they broke up because he was still living with his ex fiancée. If he was really my ideal match, he would put the work in to set the table properly for our relation…

/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/22 08:29 PM

I'm not sure why you're talking about any of this, but we will continue to admire the bodies of those we find attractive. edit: BUT to be clear, we should be mindful that we talk enough about our appreciation of people overall, as a general best practice. Nevertheless we should allow ourselves to appreciate legs or abs or hair piecemeal, because sometimes it's that kind of occasion. Hope the nuance helps.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/22 07:00 PM

Neither are men, and yet here we find ourselves
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/22 06:45 PM

No, dad bod is general healthy male weight without obvious bodybuilding. Ben Affleck here as an example Steve Carell, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert also good examples I don't know how you think anyone would find a shapeless overweight body more attractive than the alternatives...

Generally among who? I've never heard that before in my life. I also really don't understand why that would be. Corey Stoll is the hottest bald man I can think of, and he is pretty pale.

Your OP's if-then = If men with their shit together were scare, then they would be treated as a scarcity In other words, women would be fighting to go out with each and every one of these men with their shit together, just like they fight to get on the reservation list for the trendiest restaurants. ^ Which you take as license to conclude that men like you are looked over because you are, in fact, in abundance as single men who have their shit together. After all, why would you be treated like a…

For the last time, women would rather be alone than get with someone they're not very fond of. If you find yourself sidelined, it's either by choice, or because none of the women you meet are picking up what you're putting down, steady career or no. Easy to understand but harder to arrive to the conclusion if you swallow dumbass redpill bullshit

He seems like an idiot. I wouldn't break up with him if I otherwise like him, but the disconnect between his actual skillset and what he believes it to be, is highly unattractive Very different if he loses a regular old street fight

Ie would the men that have been gross/nasty/otherwise horrible to you be in with a chance if they never had been gross/nasty/horrible? Don't know how you're supposed to determine that without a neutral sample to pull from, but yeah. Anything that increases the stock of dateable men increases your chances of finding a partner
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/22 03:08 AM

1) Sure. As much as the generalisation can be meaningful 2) No, but it's not an impossible outcome 3) Firm no. However, it may be the case that the world acts as if this is true 4) In a worrying few ways, yes

Frameworks of this kind fail often enough that the necessity is called into question
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/22 07:48 AM
1

Yeah the last thing is a question likely more philosophical than I'm equipped for. Some of the strongest couples come from pairs that didn't think themselves romantically inclined. And some of them think they should bridge that gap, but are mistaken. Figuring out the mechanics of why love happens is going to make someone very wealthy someday. As much as I also want to know why, all I can do is be grateful when it happens. And I wouldn't. The logic follows, but regardless of it not being a marker…

An easy example would be, say, religion. It's not high standards to only want to date a Muslim, but you will not find a match if you live in rural KY. Even if you are an upstanding person with a good career etc. I don't really ascribe a marketplace framework on people in this regard so I wouldn't say this person is ""low value"" - though that would be the case in the scenario you've presented Especially if it's people you like and wish liked you This doesn't indicate compatibility, at least to m…

/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/22 11:36 PM

It might be my luck, but I can't remember the last time I had a downright negative first impression of somebody. People either turn very quickly positive (those I cherish most) or remain some flavor of neutral, trending to positive. Most people I meet fall into the second group, and I've never been able to convert those into love.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/22 06:55 PM

You sound like you're fun, but you can be too much. I think that's something you can glean within the hour if you're paying attention, and the people that you became friends with decided, consciously or otherwise, that the fun was the most important part of you.

Aw man, I'm so sorry. I have felt like this a lot, but I also have experience with connection and belonging, so there's always that understanding to ground myself on. Maybe it's a little bit like art. I don't really enjoy visiting galleries, most pieces get about a glance and a hmm from me, but a few months ago I saw a few that were actually really great and awe-inspiring, at least for me. Maybe that's the goal? Also, try to dance a little
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/22 06:20 PM

I think that the concept of growing on someone, or vice versa, is a myth. Everything you need to know about someone, especially in regards to compatibility, you find out in the first hour, if that.

And you only start to feel some kind of way because of what you saw on social media? Not realistic, or at least incredibly immature. Basically how you are using diplomacy. Like I was listening to a marriage podcast, and they didn't say it in as many words, but once the conversation was essentially "This modern trend of 'communicating' is just code for whining incessantly, and it's not going to help your marriage survive." Of course your intimate partnership is somewhere you'll find refuge from the harshness of the world, and of course you do need healthy channels of communication open, but no, you don't need a 2hr postmortem …

When he went to the bathroom once I grabbed his phone because I had a feeling. Sure enough, in his photo album circa 2018, there was a video of him chatting with another woman!! Where he'd ask her about herself, and pay attention to the answer. Where he'd follow up and wait his turn, and talk about things that mutually interested them. It was a real shock to the system, so I threw up everywhere and left.

I believe adult men are generally able to think and act on their own behalf (as are women, wrt handwringing around consent) but still, sheesh... I can only imagine the kind of stories bouncers swap around.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/21 01:43 AM
4

No lol. Take this example: it has no effect on me whether an elderly person I don't know lives or dies. But if you hear about someone fending off a would-be elderly mugging, you can understand that as an instance of morally acceptable violence, despite the fact that it had no effect on your own life.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/21 01:27 AM

Agnostic. Overall, generally, personality changes are the DLC of who we are as people. You're not ever going to be playing an entirely different game
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/21 01:22 AM

I mean, it does, though. Because morally acceptable violence exists, as well as morally unacceptable violence. Men commit the vast majority of both, but women only approve the vast majority of one kind.

Not really possible to say unequivocally in terms of men as a group. Only thing that's unequivocally demonstrable in terms of being a contributing factor is age. There's never been a better time to find a male partner willing to do his share of work around the house.

The part where I said "as you have described them" is literally defining the term lol, but yours works too. I don't understand why you're pussyfooting around fringe cases like you yourself don't have an intimate understanding of what abuse is. You do. So why are you talking about 'kids these days' as if that has any bearing? Why not consider those who, to use your own example, are beaten into a coma by their significant others? The vast majority are regular people, as you have agreed, so why are…

No, I didn't state that. Having no empathy for ≠ wishing harm. We disagree. I'll ask around. I appreciate you sharing, and I can only imagine what suffering it caused your friend to go through. But the vast majority of women that have experiences with abusive relationships don't bring it upon themselves, or have backstories like your friend's ex where it's easier to paint them a villain. Hold on, I wasn't saying you have to physically harm someone to be red pill. The first paragraph isn't true at all, and is far less true, I'd imagine, at your age. It all depends on her individual attitude towards social media. The extremely beautiful women I'm friends with don't update their Instagram accounts at all as it happens. I'm trying to think which of the older women in my family haven't had to spend time mothering some other woman's child. And not in the wholesome reconstituted family way 😬 Very likely he's still very deep in grief. I don't imagine I would react this way but grief is the most scarring/psychologically impactful emotion you can have. It might even make you do something as crazy as abandon your own kid. I don't know

You made this point very well, and very profoundly. Said as someone who initially came away with the opposite conclusion

Concern first, and sympathy. There's never much worth saying but I'd hold him if I'm in a position to or showing negative emotions That's a little bit more broad. I don't tend to react to any of them but sorrow. This has happened before so it's not like it's theoretical or anything, it just doesn't turn me off of a man I already like

Insecure ≠ low value imo but the tactics are designed to provoke unhealthy responses from people. If it works, you lack self esteem, but so many women lack self esteem. You'll always find success, I just think it's cruel to exploit another person's vulnerabilities.

An IMAX theater will have better picture and audio quality than whatever you have at home. In a nightclub it will be better speakers and a person that's taking the time to queue up music that hits, in a way that flows well. Plus, it's really enjoyable as a communal experience
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/21 09:19 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/21 07:46 PM

You'd probably have to ask a guy. It's a tricky balancing act though! You can't approach someone like they're just the gas station attendant because the goal is to build intimacy there. But you can't also lean too hard into the fact that you want them to make a decision on you, because the pressure there is what will make them feel self conscious.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/21 06:56 PM

Hey man thanks, that's a great example. All you've done is tell the story of a man with a healthy self esteem. Healthy boundaries, healthy maturity, whatever. Anyone who chooses an option other than 3 lacks the above - and perhaps more importantly, they lack appropriate esteem for their partner too. If "blue pill" even exists, it's just a reaction to red pill, which makes it really easy to strawman. Nobody ever said you had to be a doormat.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/21 04:22 AM

I'm going to go ahead and believe you. I've not experienced anything like that but I am often bad at recognizing subtlety

No dude, that's literally when dating is fucking really, really easy. The block button exists.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/21 03:13 AM

I'm not saying that you are complaining. I'm saying that when you say your friends' experiences show you that a certain opinion has worth, you aren't made to pay attention to what's at play when things go right (ie the opposing opinion.) So you won't be weighing their worth in your own mind with any parity. In other words: "Millions of citizens make it home from work healthy and intact" will never make headlines. "Fatal crash on hwy 1" inevitably does.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/21 03:11 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/21 11:49 PM

If you mean why do I think most men get this wrong, I speculate it's not most men. But it's common enough for it to be worth saying this aloud. If you mean why do I think many men get this wrong, my most charitable bet is exposure. Not being raised around women, or not noticing them in your life except when they are (often distant) objects of desire. Many men also just have a preference for misogyny, which might be an easier option for them.

Your main point is correct, but not so much the conclusion. Just try harder is ultimately the only response when somebody is after something they either need or want really badly. Although the more compassionate rephrasing is "try these different things, but it may take a long while, if it comes at all. You will feel frustrated that it seems to come more readily for others, and for that, I am sorry." Because the alternative is to tell them to quit, and that's no alternative at all. It's a lot li…

You also know nothing about me or my view of sex, but have unsurprisingly misrepresented it, too. And you learn nothing. Figures!
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/21 12:57 AM

What a joke. Up is not down. Me having to tell you about the way the world is is a function of you not understanding it. Carrying on a conversation despite the fact is still something that can happen! Feel free to try your best, but making out like this was me not responding to you is really foolish
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/21 12:10 AM

It's not just Dave Chappelle. I want to say every polemic cultural conversation will have leftist takes that are like, not only is this person CANCELLED, but what they said is STUPID and WRONG. Here's why 🧵 And then will talk around what they don't like about it, without actually getting to the heart of what's being said. Reminds me of a few people here, ha-ha
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/21 11:30 PM

I usually agree. Insecurity should by no means be seen as an achilles heel for a conversation, but you have to acknowledge that some of them lead to disproportionate responses from some. Sharks are frightening and it's perfectly reasonable to fear them, but maybe it's also a shame if you never go to the beach because of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/21 10:16 PM

You aren't actually responding to what I'm saying, you're just using me as a bounce-off to soapbox about whatever the fuck it was you felt like saying. At least try to look like you're engaging conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/21 10:13 PM

That is only if you consider a sexual partner as someone that is reducible ? It's not a matter of opinion. You are reduced to different things as a matter of course when you live life as an adult in society. We shouldn't reduce our partners because interpersonal relationships are one of the only places we can (and should) be taken as a whole.

That's no problem, thanks Hold on though because you're establishing a circular argument. I think you want to say I don't have a real sense of sex scarcity because I always had access to potential sex, and if I didn't pursue it it was because my need was already satisfied. But sex can't be a need only because I didn't pursue more sex than I did, if the claim is that sex isn't a need in the first place. I didn't say that women don't weight looks. Looks are one factor out of a myriad, and different women weigh different factors differently. but in cases where you're actually not first You have no way of knowing, except for what she tells you. You can however choose to believe you aren't in fact first. That option is easy and readily available at all times, but it won't get you any sort of happiness.

I see that. For sure fuckboy is one of those words that is only used once a woman has had the experience to know as much. So it's less a coping mechanism, and more just the nature of finding out about someone. Husband material is the same way. Using both when you don't really know a person is insincere.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/10/21 06:37 PM
3

I mean, not really. Or at least not entirely. If you pick any NHL team I'd bet decent money the majority are married or have serious significant others. A more pedestrian example would be army wives. A lot of women do have real adversity vis a vis "aggressive" occupations, but for many others it's a secondary consideration, if it is even one at all. In Ngannou's case he's a soft spoken guy with a trad background and a well paying job. And obviously he looks like that. Total husband material, alm…

Oh. On an individual level, it's probably the same, because being shunned or disparaged hurts whoever is doing it, and for whatever reason. On a wider scale, we've denied people their rights, livelihoods, and actual lives because of racism, and that abuse gets inherited too. So it's caused far more suffering and evil.

It's something you discovered concretely, like she said as much to a friend? That is definitely a different situation, and I think most people do understand that an explicit "I am only with you because person X is unavailable" is a huge red flag you should stay far away from. But we also can't let ourselves be victim to the general idea of other men/women, because they are unconquerable boogeymen, and will start running your life if you let them.

How? It affects humanity. A small relative portion, but even at 1-2% of humanity being affected, that is an enormous amount of people. If the local chemical plant started illegally dumping, but it was only harming the health of 1-2% of people in town, that's nobody else's concern?

I sincerely am, because it's actually been raised multiple times and I'm willing to bet it's recency bias from concerned young men. You gave modeling and fitness/bodybuilding communities as your examples... They have always been on steroids. I think the internet has made it more visible, but they're carrying out the same conversations their predecessors were having decades before them, but via text on a message board instead of in closed conversations. If you're in a monogamous marriage, it absolutely is. Both people need to be explicitly aware they are not in a monogamous marriage, if that is the case. Even then, it's morally gray if you start in a monogamous marriage and then "mutually" decide to open it.

No, I mean the present day ivory tower types that get paid to think about these things. The Stanford Encyclopedia usually has good thorough summaries for these topics, and basic exploration of the ideas. Just checked now and they do indeed. They mention a number of people, so you're good with just finding the one(s) that speak most to you and forming your own ideas around them.

I think it's worth you reading around the philosophy of love, in order to clarify your own views about it. When these conversations stay strictly in layman's terms they are very rarely worth it, just because terms get interchanged, people talk past each other, and struggle to identify even basic commonalities.

I don't think it's necessarily petty. He may have been more sensitive to loudness than most people. To me, when you're in the dating stage, you're seeing the broadest strokes of a person that are the fundamental aspects of their personality. Is it more reasonable to ask someone to change a fundamental aspect of their personality, or to leave them to find someone that can appreciate it? Open question, but I sincerely believe in the latter.

No automod? That happens, and it makes sense intuitively. The concept of asking somebody out is based on finding a stranger or distant acquaintance that you want to develop a connection with. You aren't going to know much about their attitude unless they are a notoriously vile POS, which is thankfully an extreme minority of people. Thankfully, it's also an extreme minority of cases where people are actually brazen enough to use this as an excuse.

Yes there is, but causal relationships are in fact more complex than a > b, or a+b > c. Not sure what you mean by "already rare without statistical support" here. I meant to qualify that with "given perfect knowledge." Given perfect knowledge, you cannot meaningfully attribute some illnesses to controllable human behaviour. Often, our actions are. Often, they are not. It's inconsistent to not account for the people in the latter group, because they are as deserving of care as any injured person.…

I feel this, though I haven't quite put the time in that you have. I figure I've probably had more than my fair share of luck, what's a bit of an unlucky love life ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

The list deviates from actual feminine virtues, to what men commonly perceive as such. Valid difference but important to note

Certainly. How does that differ to when you fall in love, or men generally speaking?

The in-between: to wait for a nice boy who I am attracted to and feel comfortable around.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/21 11:23 AM

Not really, we all know what they say for both sides. I just doubt it helps with anything besides beating yourself up needlessly, and being angry at the world.

/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/21 04:32 PM

It's not an idea that's mutually exclusive to grey areas. I don't think the disproportionate attraction we feel is usually explained away easily by some feature a person doesn't realise they're fixating over. It isn't present in most people's lives, but everybody wants it to be, that's what I'm saying. That's why the obsession with physical attraction. That, and obviously wanting to bone. I may be projecting here to be fair, but my best speculation really is the allure of an authentic romantic p…

Probably spirituality and religiosity. Most of us are attracted to/infatuated with people in a way that defies logic and meaning to some degree. So when that happens we feel like we're dealing with the occult, or something that connects us to a higher meaning. Like when a couple is "meant to be." Everyone wants that for themselves. If the initial spark wasn't actually there, that means there was no divine intervention (however conceived) and so by extension you/the pairing aren't special.

/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/21 03:40 AM

Not really. Read the sub and you'll see a lot of commentary that isn't blowing smoke up women's asses, that also isn't misogyny. I'm also not entirely certain why I'm getting pushback on this when posters here are actively proud of their misogyny.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/21 05:21 AM

Have you ever heard of The Taming of the Shrew? It's not just "look hot" it's "be more agreeable to men's nature" however that presents itself, such as in behaviour. Plus, go on AskWomen on any given day and sooner or later you're bound to hear the 'work on yourself to find a bf!!!!' spiel. Perfectly echoed in AskMen, too.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/21 05:07 AM

Personally I get most of my dates from OLD, so anything past the second date is because there's clear mutual attraction. I feel a lot more at ease currently with the men I'm seeing than I have for a while, precisely because I'm taking things at my own pace rather than worrying about what I should or shouldn't do when. I feel positively about the people and the situations.

/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/21 04:42 AM

See - you're speaking to why it's wasted on other men. You think it's women's social justice trope indulgence, but it's more like when kids won't eat the egg yolk because it's "icky." With men being the kids, and yolk being any body without particularly prominent muscles.

I think like with anything, friendships are circumstantial. Whatever "wavelength" you're on is dictated by who you're raised around, and you'll spend your life searching for people who fit that pattern. If I were to speculate (since I've never heard of a woman literally having no female friends,) I'd say there was a moment in adolescence where she decided she didn't fit in with the girls around her, and held onto that narrative throughout her life. But again, really don't know how prevalent this…

Ah. I'll try to explain: I adapted the original quote to show how the same dynamic applies to a situation that is far, far more serious. Similarly to how people that have never entered a physical altercation wrongly give themselves a false idea of how they'd respond, no one that hasn't been threatened with rape by armed SS would confidently be able to say what they would or wouldn't do. So the quote is originally about fistfighting, but it can also be made applicable to war crimes, as is the cas…

Of fit/athletic men. I don't understand how you don't understand It's as subjective as "most women are physically attracted to unnatural bodies." Women's preferences will converge onto a point, which as I suspected is a lot further towards the first pic than I think you realise. That landscape is saturated with hobbyist bodybuilders in a way that reflects their preferences rather than women's at large.

Most men's muscles don't look like roid muscles at all - since the majority of fit/athletic men are not on steroids. The most attractive male physique is perfectly attainable working out consistently (which is a bare minimum,) especially as many women's ideal is far closer to this than what I imagine you're envisioning.

Life of the party is a straw man. There's a reason why people with severely disabled relatives often end up placing them in care homes - there comes a point where the stress, fear, and uncertainty are too much for a caretaker to withstand. Men and women both reach that threshold. Sarah Palin's daughter iirc was severely beaten by her husband, but because he suffers from PTSD.

If you're within those circles, they appear to be 70% of women. If you're not, it seems like 30%. It'll be frustrating for the men that are inside, because renouncing your social context is kind of easier said than done. And yeah, men outside find women outside, and they love and coexist peacefully without the psychoses people inside these spaces evidently develop.

Do you mean awful how? The physical sensation is unpleasant. Initiation has literally zero to do with how good or bad a kiss is. What woman wouldn't be turned off by me asking if I can kiss her? To reiterate, this has happened to me at least three times. Twice with men I liked, whose company I enjoyed. Once with a man I did not want to kiss. Them asking had no bearing on any of this. IMO dating is inherently awkward, and I've had awkward first kisses with experienced/confident guys. I liked them though, and they were wonderful kisses. I've also had middling to downright awful kisses with confident men (to be fair, no way of telling experience because I didn't ask, just assuming based on age, but that might be saying something.) But even the awful ones didn't make me think they'd never done it before. They made me think they were awful. I'd have trouble with being on the spot…

There's a high chance it doesn't come up organically. Past experiences really shouldn't be coming up on the first few dates anyway because it's not really proper to speak about. I think if you want to be serious about having and keeping a strong relationship, you have to step out of the romantic framing a little bit and treat it as a serious mutual obligation. The work of it is the least glamorous, most important part. It's easy to swoon over pretty boys/girls.

The way you've described it is men consider it righteousness, while women consider it righteousness AND other quite basic qualities (mutual attraction, steady employment etc.) That's not a huge difference if one already encompasses the other. Well put. It's the same brain dead story every time. Women only like X, but as soon as you see a woman liking Y, it's because she's a gold-digger. Or if she's not, then it's anecdotal, one exception that you happened to have found among the sea of reality that is superficial or gold digging women. It's a worldview that depends on wilfully ignoring half of the female population, not the "reality" it is constantly peddled as. Their wanting it to be so does not make it so, but it sure seems like it…

Western countries too. If you know any married couples with children you can point to what they're wearing and it was likely bought by their mother. They tend to furnish according to their tastes, maintain household inventory etc

Yeah. Men are often more abundance oriented so they don't really appreciate this perspective, and usually make it about their wounded pride over """chad""" or whatever. It's not particularly that, since high value men aren't all too rare. It's about finding the right fit. And as amazing as potato chips are, they don't pair well with gummi bears, which are just as great.

If it's not just physical, then people should still be able to be attractive without being physically attractive Not really. It's one ingredient but it's still a necessary ingredient. There is nothing inherently sinister or disingenuous about acting in a way that you think will make people like you. Everyone wants to be well liked, and everyone tries to put their best foot forward when meeting people, because why wouldn't you? Likewise you are your actions, and people that act in a way that gets…

/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/21 11:21 PM

Yeah likely because the physical inferiority is immutable. Young girls tend not to want to grow too tall because it's seen as unfeminine.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/21 11:05 PM
1

That's exactly what a lot of fit men accept though... The point about dad bod hype though is to draw attention to the fact that the barrier to entry isn't as high as the media might at times have you believe. Women are attracted to dad bods. They would indeed (I'm making a reasonable speculation) be more attracted to the same bodies more toned/built, but that doesn't mean attraction wasn't there initially

Oh. Yeah, and I'd be one. That isn't love. Love is first and foremost founded on mutual adoration. Lust etc additional components. Like if I said an acquaintance of mine is one of my best friends, I'd struggle to say it's a friendship at all since only one side considers it so

It's hard to speak on behalf of others, but I feel you begin to like someone because of the ways they're different to other (physically) attractive people. And when you try to ask women about it at this stage it always sounds nonsensical unless it's just a plain "I think he's really cute"
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/21 03:42 PM

Basic kindness and decency, single, gets along well enough with you that she'd be interested in going further, and in a social context where that'd make sense for her. /r/PurplePillDebate11/04/21 05:58 PM

Nothing wrong with it - y ou wouldn't express love towards someone that you don't love, I imagine? Edit: what I want to say is, the circumstances you need to find and fall in love with someone are the same circumstances you're looking for to find someone to have sex with. It's really difficult.

I would build a man that is affable, gracious, and kind. Whichever flavour of attractive is fine, as long as he is those things. He would be active, deeply knowledgeable about any particular thing, principled, quieter but not necessarily serious... He would take pride in himself as a person, and care deeply for his loved ones. Similar cultural background to mine also ideal. I'm not sure what is meant by status, but that reminds me, he must also be unambiguously single.

That's where it gets difficult to understand you. A person's intentions clearly, obviously aren't genuine if the baseline expectation is a certain $ figure being dropped on the opening outing. Very much by definition. There's everything wrong with this. There is no female complement because unless you are mother Theresa herself, you are bringing the same to this potential relationship as he is.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/21 11:53 PM
2

You're talking about a first date. There's not many other aspects relevant to a first date besides the monetary, and if we legitimise one form of selfishness we can hardly complain about falling victim to other kinds further down the line. Not sure what you mean. If I don't like cheap men, why should I like cheap women? Neither are interested in the spirit of partnership, or dating in good faith.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/21 10:26 PM

Appealing to nature doesn't really work for moral arguments, not that this comparison holds up. We aren't in the stone age any more, simply. It's self centred and rude to burden another person with costs you aren't willing to shoulder yourself.

Sooo... prostitution, yea or nay? I suppose that can be opened up to sex work more broadly but the issues I have with prostitution apply less to other areas. I've been for legal prostitution since forever but I started questioning this lately. How is it that women arrive at a point where they feel like this is their best option, and how strongly is that path influenced by abuse or similar? Wouldn't legal prostitution be glossing over those more concerning social ills? If you did a mental health …
/r/PurplePillDebate28/03/21 08:51 PM

Yep, but you're mixing things up slightly here. The women likely realise there's value in their physical attractiveness, and in OP's mind this is how they (and women everywhere) extract material value from men. That is different but related to the implication that was also made in the post, that it is a demonstration of their flawed character that they apparently see no value in the attention they are receiving from strange men.

Taking for granted implies inherent value in strangers' attention in and of itself. It's not an indictment of these women's character that they don't see it that way, and I don't understand how you come to the conclusion that it does unless you are incredibly conceited
/r/PurplePillDebate28/03/21 07:54 PM

I love paying for my dates! It's an easy way to say I like them without it being a big to-do. And it makes me feel appreciated when they insist on paying for me. I've never dated a cheapo but I imagine it would be a useful way to weed one out as well

I've caught glimpses of this throughout the day and wouldn't have caught wind of any of it. Cannot believe the SRD was deleted. I think it is genuinely, honest to goodness stunning. A shocking story I would simply not believe if it had not been covered by some outlets. In part hilarious because they have managed to create a literal she-who-shall-not-be-named. In part confusing because having this background is the kind of thing that would get someone fired by a website of this size, in this day …

I meant in terms of character. The male analogs of the women you describe seem to be everywhere, and it doesn't really compensate if they just so happen to be physically attractive. I don't think I believe in the crisis of masculinity, but people that do talk about the really frivolous stuff like physical stature. If only that were the issue.
