OK, you need to wake the fuck up. 12 years is a long fucking time. You need to be pissed at her for what she did and at yourself for allowing it. You have it wrong - it's not between 'lucky, dodged a bullet' and 'I'm at fault'. It's both of those (and yes she is a bad person - no fucking reason to invite you other than as a fallback plan - no consideration of your feelings whatsoever). You allowed it to happen - fell in love with an unworthy person. Sucks. Now deal with it. (I've done it multipl…

Jesus dude, do you have any idea how lucky you are? I don't post much (yeah, kind of selfish), but I'm probably old enough to be your dad and I know what the fuck I'm talking about. Take a step back and look at the major learning from this - the woman you spent 12 years focused on is an absolute cunt who cares nothing about you. Nothing else matters! Forget the advice about fucking her one more time - that's not an abundance perspective. You were living an illusion and now you've woken up - that…

Good post. It's another dimension of self-improvement that is consistent with TRP. You should always be working to be the best. Personally, I wouldn't LTR a woman who I thought still has someone above me in the pecking order - that's what abundance is about.

Imagine your kid tells you he's going to hold his breath until he dies. You're not going to argue with him about it as that would be stupid. You also don't have to be condescending or sarcastic as you're above it. You can be playful and take the conversation in a direction that you choose. Humor can be a great way to diffuse many situations (the 'amused' part), while mastery reflects that you maintain frame, see the test for what it is and decide the direction you want to take the conversation.

Well, here's a different truth. I'm 58 and dating a hot 27 year old. I had other plates but am enjoying my time with this woman more and am letting a bunch of the others drop off. My 40 year old Brazilian ex is still coming around, but I wouldn't make the commitment she wanted. I'm generally too selfish to post much. And I don't much like arguing with people on the internet, but your post is totally based on your misguided opinion and was so wrong that I couldn't let it stand. I don't agree with…

You feel the guilt because you're a decent person. You need to keep in mind that your actions should be based totally on what is best for you and your daughter - recognize the guilt but don't let it influence your behavior. You probably don't need to be told to avoid reconciliation at all costs - you can do better for yourself and your daughter. Never forget that this woman is capable of doing this to you all over again if you gave her the chance.

You can choose to learn from your experiences and move on more wisely, or bemoan your bad luck and allow bad experiences to eat at you and modify your behavior in uncontrolled ways. It's a choice.

First, I don't advocate getting back with an ex. However, a lot of the answers I see here seem to ignore the frequent stories reported in MarriedRedPill, where guys are Beta, swallow the Pill and have solid relationships after. It seems this process should work even without the marriage contract. Obviously if you have a marriage and kids you should be willing to invest more to save the relationship, but your question was purely around theory, and I think these examples demonstrate that it's poss…

You have 2 problems - you haven't yet gotten over your addiction to your oneitis, and you've dug yourself a hole academically. You are a man and are fully capable of overcoming both of these issues. First, there is a lot here about dealing with oneitis as many other folks here, myself included, have ended up here as a result of that pain. Read all you can and realize that your brain is actually managing an addiction, painkillers can help because the affect on your brain is similar (don't have ti…

As mentioned, twice per week isn't really dead bedroom. It sounds like you actually have a decent woman here so don't overreact. As you're hearing, your top priority needs to be getting yourself healthy and fit. You mentioned the work outs first and then added that you need to 'diet better'. I just want to emphasize that diet needs to be your top priority. Yes, lifting and exercise are important -- in fact you should consider more than 3/week. However, you need a dramatic change in eating habits…

I think your strategy can be reflected in one of my favorite jokes: 'Woman sees your small penis and asks "who do you think you're going to please with that little thing?", You answer "ME!!" Finding tiny women is probably a good idea. A virgin might be good for you too, as wouldn't have a lot to compare to (especially if from other cultures). Also, I know from my own experience that women can generally take me in any position, but when I do missionary with their legs on my shoulders I'm sometime…

It doesn't sound salvageable (to this random internet stranger, anyway). Get a lawyer who is not only good, but has a track record of getting to closure fast. Mine dragged on for years to only end up with a deal that we could have signed in month one (she was intransigent). Protect your kids through the process - it sounds like having them spend time with you away from her will be good for them, so don't get caught up in sticking together for the kids. Go to divorce forums and research what to d…

Agreed. And also don't lose sight of the fact that she needs to be interesting to you too. You can create an awkward dynamic if you're trying too hard to impress her. Some women can be boring as hell, and the looks and sex won't even make up for the pain of having to listen to them.

Am I the only one who sees humor in this title? Are we not doing phrasing anymore? I would have thought you'd need a larger penis to accurately gauge the depth, but maybe they are less deep than I thought.

I just came through the other side of a similar situation and need to make an important point for anyone facing it. Staying for the kids and not wanting to 'destroy their lives' can be an excuse that stops you from taking the proper actions to fix your life, and potentially theirs. You need to take into account that kids are very perceptive, and if you have a terrible, unloving relationship with your wife you are at the very least setting a bad example for what a relationship should be. For me, …

I think the unfortunate reality is that the age demographic of reddit likely looks like a pyramid with the base being under 20, and the population getting smaller as you go up in age. I'm pretty much at the peak and have kids older than many of these posters, but like you I slog through to find the diamonds in the rough. If there was an /TRPover30 I'd subscribe there too. Maybe a TRPunder30 would be more likely to have critical mass. Otherwise just looking to the mods to keep the noise level dow…

This^ This sub gets enough bad PR without making references to famous psychopaths. Pick any famous historical villain and you can see that they had the planning skills to execute a complex crime or the leadership skills to mobilize a nation - that doesn't mean we need to draw associations with them. I consider this important because I think there are lessons in TRP that warrant broader review and acceptance, and this type of post diminishes our credibility.

You have serious oneitis here bud. Everyone else who is looking at this objectively can see that this isn't likely to end well for you. She has cheated and lied multiple times, do you really think you'll ever trust her? You need to try to separate yourself from your emotions and take a hard look at the big picture here. Better to take the pain now than after having invested even more.

Thanks for the post. As I'm almost 10 years further down the path I just wanted to let you know that the 'waning' likely won't occur as quickly as you may fear. It's great to take stock of where you are, but there's no need to speak in the past tense - you should be able to keep this ride going for considerable years to come!

I've been thinking along similar lines. I do, however, believe that you can be kind and generous while protecting and prioritizing your own goals. For my personal example, I had a long term marriage and then a significant relationship fail because I lost my Alpha status...started acquiescing, failed shit tests, the usual. I did neither of those women any favors by failing to be the Alpha man they originally thought they signed up for. It would have been better for them, and me, if I had maintain…

I don't disagree that it reduces the available pool. For me, my age reduces the pool more than my baldness. My point is that if you have an 'abundance' attitude, you can still meet more attractive women than you have time for. So I wouldn't use the word 'hindrance' as it feels negative. No guy has access to 100% of the pool - some women like black or asian guys, some want guys 5 years younger than them, some want millionaires...I don't worry about what some random woman who will never be part of…

Don't use this as an excuse. I'm a 57 year old bald guy who 4 months ago ended a 5yr relationship with hot 32 yo (met her within a month of deciding to end 20+ year marriage). Dated a bunch of women over the past few months, most just once or twice (my choice). Am now seeing wild 39 yo Brazillian (Have Oneitis for the 32 yo, but getting over it, leveraging lessons here for that and handling new women -- may tell my story in more detail once I get the lay of the land here. I made a lot of mistake…
