The most common reason is that deep-down, you don't really think you're attractive or worthy of female attention, so any girl who actually is interested in you must not be worth very much herself because her standards are low enough to include you. So deep down you have this feeling she must not be very good, and then you start looking for evidence of that, which due to confirmation bias, you can always find.
