I mean, yeah of course things change. So boundaries and values and desires. Do you grow together or do you grow apart? How do you communicate about that growth?

It is your emotional brain, your nervous system, which is millions of years older than your thinking brain. Look into breathing and tapping exercises. Esentually, when you feel all worked up - exhale for a longer amount of time than you inhale,

Brother - it is the hardest thing you will have to go through. But you WILL get through it. Go lift heavy shit. Walk 10+K steps a day. Eat Healthy. Get good sleep. Rekindle old friendship and hobbies. Develop new ones. It a long game but you have the opportunity to be a better man.

I empathize completely. Once you heal you'll realize she is not one IN a million but one OF a million. You need to build yourself back, and relearn what women are actually attracted to. This is a great video (Ignore the red pill slant): https://youtu.be/RB1Ed_kvZNM?si=qJThYCuanUziFM0G

If you've been divorced and dating a while - you've learned the hard way NOT to date someone going through a divorce or recently divorced if you want a serious, non casual, non FWB relationship. Take a year of peace. Logically it is the best thing for anyone. Emotionally you are feeling weak, invalidated, abondoned, a failure ... which is why anyone wants to date right away. But you have a lot of work to do before you are ready for a healthy relationship.

No need to confront him. Do whatever you can to control your emotions and treat it like ending a business contract. The sooner you can get it over with in an amicable manner, the better for you, your kids, and him. Be introspective and grow from it. Look for your part and what you can control. No one wants to be the bad person in their own story. Fighting over right / wrong is where divorces get messy. Remember no one wins in divorce but the lawyers.

As someone in the top 20% … I’m telling you the apps turn men into fuckbois. If I’m open and honest, transparent communicate well, take my time the women find some little nick picky thing to end it. Either something they heard on one of their true crime podcast, or something dating story from a friend, or something an ex did or whatever. If I’m aloof mysterious non committal and just charm them and let them talk about themselves they will fuck you on the first date. They have all the power, and …

OP is being emotional, which is understandable as its still fresh. I fought tooth-nail (and a lot of lawyer fees) to get a detailed list from my ex for asset separation. The tone of OP message is why lawyers make so much $$$$$$$$$$. The sooner he can get over the hurt and treat it like a failed business partnership, the better.

I've grown and changed a ton. I've self reflected and been introspective on my part in it. My kids now prefer my house because I provide discipline, routine, structure and consistency while remaining emotionally stable. My ex doubled down on her ways because she was doing nothing wrong and had the support of all her mommy friends telling her I was an evil abusive man who tried to take way her kids. Plus in my free time I bang thirsty hot but damaged divorcee's. So I lost a ton during the divorce…

Just opened my son's report card (last day of school). He had 22 tardies this semester. She lives 1.5 miles from the school. Think of all your girlfriends ... I'm sure you have one who's life is chaos and kids are out of control. But you are still friends with her because she is fun and quirky. That is my ex wife. Hard to be a "peach" married to and now coparenting with that and watching the trauma she causes my kids on the regular due to her lifestyle choices.

Of course. I actually asked for divorce over her selfish, shitty parenting as a SAHM. That was literally the reason. I lost the fight for primary, lots of women (moms) in child services and family law. Just the other week she wanted to check my 11 yo daughter into a mental hospital. She was crying this morning as she dropped the kids stuff off because my middle one made her morning hell. I have them 43% of the time. Just started week on week off over the summer.

It is hard decision and I personally don’t fault someone for leaving that all behind if it is for your own survival. Maybe one day your daughter will reach out when she is an adult and try to form a relationship. Maybe not. But you can only control what you can. I’m happy you found the opportunity to build a new life.

Just the conversation - I have a look where I can look deeply in their eyes (I have green eyes) and really listen. They are really into it. Nothing sexual. Then when it is time to go a walk her to her car. That is where we kiss, then really make out. I open their car door, we get in the back seat, keep making out, I slowly stick my hands down her pants, finger her and get her all worked up, then I pull my dick out and she starts doing her thing. Its like the saying goes, a girl will think your h…

On 2 different occasions, after a 10 AM coffee 1st date, two different women were giving me head in the parking lot in their SUV by noon. These women were ones with good white collar jobs and had their "shit together" The thirst is real. If you are decently attractive and charming, they will do some nasty things. As I mentioned in another comment, I did 7 different women in row over a 7 day period just to see if I could. I think I'm probably a 7, maybe an 8. But as I mentioned earlier, none turn…

What I hear is the counter to this from women .... "but getting ready for a date takes so much time and energy, and then the man could be boring and/or a creep, why would I want to do that?" One of my ex's was really vain, literally had a new outfit via amazon every day. She enjoyed getting dressed up and going out. She like when men would buy her dinners. She also texted me the other day that she was SAed and filed a police report because he expected to get laid. When I was dating regularly I r…

Very dependent on your area. I live in a well off liberalish area in a large metro which helps. I haven’t been on the apps in a year but from what I’ve heard they get worse by the day. Most of the good people have logged off.

Fair enough. I had no problem dating in a major metro city because I'm relatively attractive after hitting the gym and losing 30 lbs. Also, I think I'm a charming person ... I'm in sales so I know how to actively listen and shape a conversation). However, I am single because as others have mentioned I'm just not attracted to the modern tiktok woman and her values. I'm enjoying being single and hooking up. I wish you luck my friend.

Yes the til tok, instagram women has really fucked up their world view… and then my kids. When they are with her my 11 yo daughter is on her iPad 7-9 hours a day. When they are with me they get electric nova for an hour, and no social media, just texting friends.

Yes, the opposite is true for us for sure. Getting someone in a relationship is easy. Finding a woman id want to be in a relationship with is tough. For your 6 months part… I waited a year after filing to start dating. I hit the gym and lost 3lbs. She was dating within a month. I put together a great app profile (did a bunch of research on how) and my first time on the apps I did a 7 day bender … 7 different women in 7 nights. Idk, I haven’t had any luck with younger women on the apps. I’ve been with 20 or so women in the past 4 years, but all within 5 years of me (41). I’m not a bad looking dude obviously, but I have 3 kids and don’t want any more babies, so maybe that’s it. The 31 yo old women seems to be looking for marriage and to have kids, unlike the 31 yo old dudes she is dating that just want to bang (and are probably being turned down by the women their own age).
/r/Divorce_Men25/05/25 03:18 PM

I’m indifferent to my ex, have been for a couple of years now. Yeah, I guess maybe a little jealous how easy she can get a roster of younger people wanting to just bang on the regular. When I was a fuckboi, they were all pretty much one night stands from the apps because the women were looking for relationships, not regular casual sex. But deep down she wants another sucker who will put her up in a big house and spoiler her. So it’s all about perspective.

She does m’t sound secure or have a strong self worth. If she can’t understand you are focusing on your kids and needs all your energy, that is a red flag. But you know this.

I went from $500K net worth (which would now be worth probably $1.5M) and an 850 credit score. We divorced over the worst thing possible- the kids - she couldn’t control them as a SAHM and all three had behavioral and emotional issues. I buillt a great case over the 1.5 year process. Any woman would have won with the evidence ai have. But because she wasn’t blowing crystal meth smoke in their face or beating with an iron rod … the GAL said it was just different parenting styles but because I tho…

I’ve already spent $200K and had to filed for bankruptcy. I have them 42% of the time. I had a 25 page evidence document with many recordings and videos. The GAL said it’s just a difference in parenting style, but she should get primary because I think mine is better. It is bullshit. I’ve educated my daughter on what it means to be institutionalized and to fight against it. The kids often want to be there because they can do whatever they want and be on electronics 6+ hours a day. Hence their st…

My late mother gave us a handmade painting one Christmas. My ex argued it was a gift just to her. She labeled me as abusive for going for primary custody of the kids (her parenting and lack of control of our kids as a SAHM is why I pushed for divorce). The mediator turned arbitrator was a woman and awarded my ex my moms painting. My ex pretty much got whatever she wanted, including primary custody. Don’t use me as your therapist. Work out whatever you ca.n directly with your ex. If that can’t be done, communicate with them as little as possible and focus on the next step…finalizing it. The goal should always be to finalize it ASAP. (That is why that lawyer didn’t mention mediation). The longer it is, the more you fight, the more it costs. Just go by what the law says and take your medicine. Fighting over the small stuff or what you think is right is stupid. If your ex is unreasonable and w…

Yes, it was great in the beginning, then she got bored and nothing I would do could make her happy. Then when she broke up with me and I immediately stop caring ... she was a wreck and pleading with me asking if i "missed her." She was back on the apps a week after the break up. She needed some more validation and attention. I saw her one last time getting my stuff and she said she'd been on 2 dates with a guy. I banged her one more time and then just went no contact. i feel sorry for dude.

I just got out of 2 relationships post divorce - great sex, totally selfish avoidants. The last one I got serious with and it was a nightmare. My ex wife was like that too. As a recovering people pleaser I think this is who I'm attracted to and I'm self reflecting and being introspective about it.

As a recovering giving people pleaser, you have to start standing up for yourself and expect reciprocity in a partnership. You live by the golden rule - do to others what you want done for yourself. Often takers find givers and this dynamic happens. Not just it romantic relationships but in families, business, and friendships. My guess is she will never change. During the divorce I spent time alone and really focused on myself. It was great and I thought I was ready to date. However, I’m just ge…

Take it day to day brother. Learn to take pleasure in the little things. Live in the present. Don’t focus on right / wrong of the past and realize everyone is living in their own world and living by their own narrative, including your ex and female relatives. I agree with a lot of what you said Also, you could only meet women close to you, and them of men. They would replace you with your best friend after you died, not some rando fuckboi. Woman also died a lot during child birth. And half the children would die before adulthood too. The only people who had a "good life" were the rich and royalty.

remember lawyers can say whatever they want. judges will not see you that long and lawyers have to justify why they need something. high conflict = more money for lawyers. Period.

Like I tell the kids, “life is not fair.” I just had to file for bankruptcy being saddled with all the CC debt and only breaking even each month after paying child support and rent ($5K per month) My industry took a big downturn and the people in family law say I’m “underemployed.” Keep your head held high brother. Focus on what you can control and how you react to things you can’t.

I have also gone through those peaks and valleys, over and over. I want to be indifferent so bad. But both the peaks and valleys are starting to flatten out over time. Once they look like the vast flatlands I will know I'm there. You will get there, and take solace in the fact that the highs and lows will continue to lose their intensity, until you reach total indifference.

Pick your difficult: A bad marriage is difficult A divorce is difficult The reason your words are so hard is because you are afraid to be alone. Do to current societal norms men develop a dependency on women which becomes hardened during a marriage. Do what he want and not listen, hit me or physically alter the situation, joke around to change subject. My oldest girl wants to hurt my soul when she is mad. Fuck me up with words and things that bother me. I never try to say it to her, because I can see the changes I'm working on, but she is similar to her mother.

Lazy and narcissistic is a hell of a combo Lazy and narcissistic is a hell of a combo. This describes pretty much my ex SAHM's family. I'll raise you with a well educated, connected covert passive aggressive avoidant. Refuses to put anything in writing so I've gone no contact parrell parenting as possible. Email on weekends only. Of course I'm the narcissist controlling asshole for staying sober/single and focusing on work and my 3 young kids. I "make her look like the bad guy" and I'm manipulat…

Freedom. Embrace it brother. Get rid of your codependences from marriage (it takes a lot of time, worst thing in the world). You lost a lot but in the end you gained your freedom. I lost most everything as well. Once you accept it all. You can find happiness in yourself. Even in your 1 bedroom apartment. Embrace your freedom.

My ex did me dirty and is a hot mess. We got divorced because of parenting styles and lifestyle choices and their influence on the kids. But I have young kids. Her going off the deep end would not be good for them. That is what women often want us men to do, just like your exs actions you mentioned, which wouldn't benefit the kids either. Maybe when the kids are young adults they could handle that better. I'm sorry you and your kids have to deal with that, but I would still suggest indifference …

I would go if my kids asked me. My ex does the same thing with SM, I'm there for the kids during my time and when I can during her time (extra-circulars). She always tries to portray herself as the super mom while I'm quietly behind the scenes making sure they turn into well rounded adults. Recently I took my kids their first concert which was our favorite band. I had to get her permission because it was during her time. I was there with the kids (sober) the entire time and she came up for a cou…

Most men (and women) cope/deal with the bad parts of the relationship/marriage/divorce for the potential upsides. "It can't happen to me." Also, we are sold a bill of lies from when we are young about being codependent / best friends with your partner and relationships being "hard work." My grandmothers favorite phrase is "its take two to tango." But it only takes one to make lives miserable. TL;DR Societal norms are too powerful.

"It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman." -Proverbs 21:19 “I follow the example of the rider who wishes to become an expert horseman, none of your soft-mouthed, docile animals for me. The horse for me to own must show some spirit: in the belief, no doubt, if he can manage such an animal, it will be easy enough to deal with every other horse besides. And that is just my case. I wish to deal with human beings, to associate with man in general; hence my …

If good, desirable men do divorce right, they come out of it not wanting a women for any type of relationship . Which of course single divorced women love to project and tell themselves - "we don't need a man" As a man, pound for pound, I can do more than a woman. I took one of those stupid personality test and am very balanced when it come to my masculine and feminine traits. Now granted most men can be lazy and not want to do the "feminine" ... "make me a sandwich" Hence the preverbal divorcee…

Thanks for engaging and for sharing your thoughts so play accordingly, try to change the game (become a politician, influencer, author), or don’t play at all. But it’s not worth wasting time just complaining about how the game is rigged since nothing is going to change in the short-term. Fair statement and you are right, this was more of a vent post than anything, although I have enjoyed the thoughts shared I know you’re anti-consumerism and anti-capitalism, but an important consumer product we’…

I've had these views most of my life. My JR year of high school I went to the FL coast on spring break and partied. I hated it. The next year, my SR year, I went and hiking the Appalachian trial while the rest of my friends went back down to FL. I also realize that they don't pay people to do what I enjoyed and the things I value are not part of normal society. So I cope, adapted, and fit in. I found a job that would give me the most amount of money for the least amount of work, so I have a ton …

I'd like to know the answer to that question as it relates to this in-group. Yes, I'm looking for insight from others. It doesn't matter how smart I am. My insightfulness means nothing. Please answer the question. I will not respond to your answer to demonstrate I'm not "looking for a platform to use big words and try to sound smart about how insightful you are". Thanks

If I didn't have kids I would agree with you much more. I have a sense of guilt for bringing them into the world knowing what I know now. Wokeness is a joke. Being truly woke now is a guilt soaked proposition. If you believe modern western society will collapse in the next 10 years and humanity will probably be extinct in 100 years. My kids have behavioral and emotional issue stemming from a life full of distractions, consumption, and keeping up with the Joness. I would argue that our overall decline mental health while our standard of living increases is because we are so far removed from humans natural state within the ecology of the earth. I was a people please enabler for my ex who was a SAHM. I gave an ultimatum at the end of our marriage. Lets sell the house, move to a mountain college town and buy a house with cash (…

Yes was from alt account. So you can't answer the question? I asked a question, but my context will not allow you to answer. Humanity is built on hypocrisy, we all lie to ourselves. I'm no better or worse than you. I call myself a hypocrite in my post, I am one every day. As are you. What you call dystopian, I call reality. Most people are blind to reality and rightfully so, it can be quite depressing and nihilistic.

And those newbie gains. Eat right and lift for 3 - 6 months. u/Throwaway_858493. You can do it. You could even do it via calisthenics right off the bat and see returns in 2 weeks, and then start lifting. Just need an arms length of space and your body weight. In 1 year you can look and feel better than you ever have, and a journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step. Men do so much better after the divorce if they can make it through without eating a bullet and/or abusing alcohol and drugs.

I heard death by 1000 bee stings from a woman on a podcast about narcissism. All the phrase are not new. The ideas are just an evolution of other ideas with modern context biases. Shitty people do shitty things. Divorce is more favored towards women because the shit men do is often worse. Plus women are more cunning. But all the MRA and red pill stuff blaming just women. Its shit people brother. Shit people win in divorce. The shit a woman can do to a man is worse. Its that simple

I was just speaking with a woman and confidant who has been through this. She is 10 years my Sr. Speaking from the other side ... she thinks it is crazy how women will use their kids as pawns. But she has an engineering, logical mind. Here is what it took me so long to understand : If you are trying to engage with some based on how reality makes them "feel" - then right/wrong, good/bad, whatever goes out the window. Their "feelings" are right above everything else. Because their feelings can not…

The GAL ruled against me and after 6 figures of costs and 1.5 years I couldn't fight anymore and take it to a judge. My ex is starting to crack already and the long game is the kids will see her lifestyle and parenting style for what it is, and is the reason for our divorce. Its good to read a story where a man won the fight for their kids.

first off, do a google image search for theory of multiple intelligence. the quality of women online is poor, as is the quality of men, which makes it tough for the quality of both sexes. I've been on plenty of dates from online, and all of them had emotional / trauma issue or are way to picky. Online dating turns good men into fuckbois. and that isn't really worth it to me, and I enjoy sex. I'd rather not have regular sex than deal with that again. I'm focusing on the young kids and if something happens, it happens. And honestly that is what a lot of the quality wom…
