It's the inbetween bit that I struggle with. It never gets past one date if I try to be gentlemanly and get to know them better. But if I go in for the kiss as soon as possible on the first date, I end up in a two year relationship with them, lol. I want to take things slow though, I shouldn't have to go in for the kill straight away but if I don't they seem to think I'm not interested

Thank you for your reply, very helpful. A lot of people here have said I need to make my intentions clear, and I do feel this in myself. I just don't know how to do it! Can anyone give me some scenarios perhaps? What they would say? I just can't figure out the gear change from "Oh great, you like cherry soda too!" into "You know, you're really cute..." What are they going to say to that other than "uhh... thanks?"

This. Exactly. It does feel that way. But I don't know how to change! It's not "friendzone", it's some ambiguous point in the spectrum where we build chemistry but I guess I don't know how to take the next step in expressing my interest. They don't see me as a friend/brother, they're attracted to me but they're confused as hell and walk away feeling like crap about themselves. NOT good! Any ideas?

I really appreciate this comment, thank you! I know I'll get there one day. I don't like the bitter nonsense that a lot of guys come out with about being "friendzoned", and that's not my problem. I've literally had girls tell me ages later that I just didn't seem like I was interested in them, when I absolutely was. I'M friendzoning THEM! I don't know what's missing :(
