This is such a impactful read, quite thought provoking. Thanks for posting

I had a similar experience with an english teacher (who I liked aside from this example)... while talking about the "pay gap" and asking the female students what they thought about it, they made the argument that teachers "aren't paid as much because it's a female-dominated field" i almost laughed out loud. So by that logic active-duty soldiers (male-dominated) should all be rich? Ugh

Yup. Getting subtly then directly shamed by my dad for not asking out girls in college...after a few " hey i did some thinking and i don't see this going anywhere" texts while on school break really made me start to think

She goes on to argue that if we as men do not stand out and go against bad behavior (which I agree with), then tweets like this will keep going viral... So what I don't get is this: that if I personally don't know anyone who has raped a woman, then I am a bad man because other men have? and that it's my fault if I feel uncomfortable because of this tweet women have been oppressed by men for centuries? sighs sins of the father I guess..

In the ~20 years of the WNBA, the league has never made a profit, they have millions invested into it by the NBA, and their TV ratings are low but getting better. Darren Rovell tweeted something like The WNBA players (as negotiated by the league) get paid a higher percentage compared to the men, but for obvious economic reasons, that pay doesn't amount to shit, in comparison. But it's totally the parriarchy

What i've noticed with women is when you catch them saying something stupid, or call them out (for something like this post), their response is (frighteningly) usually "lol i was joking," regardless of the severity of their dumbassery. Like clockwork
/r/MensRights02/08/20 04:19 PM

I totally agree. Lots of young women my age (from hs, college, etc) trumpet this mantra everywhere. They post this on their instagram stories, and text this to each other when the get blown off by one night stands. It's hilarious and exhausting to observe

Seems to be a recurring theme: woman gets rejected, calls the man gay or accuses him of rape/sexual assault/being abusive fot sympathy

Apparently he presented the university with text and snapchat screenshots that showed her saying she joked about it and that she was confused as to why he wouldn't take her back

Good read, thanks for posting. As a dude who hasn't been to Europe or really outside of the U.S, this is what I was worried about when basically every girl I went to high school and college with was "studying" abroad...just glad this specific story is just a story, not a true tale

To clarify: The bottom screenshot is the post itself, and the top two are some replies. I fail to see how the patriarchy and women being treated poorly in other countries comes into play For the replies that are not obviously "men are ugly always" circle-jerks, some say that the patriarchy and societal beauty standards for women are to blame for "men not being able to take a joke," supposedly... This is exhausting to see again and again

Valid point. I put it here because there are comments with thousands of likes of women agreeing with her saying along the lines of "men are just playing video games and drinking beer. Same shit" and "you know damn well they're thinking of ways to be worse" and "they're playing video games and watching porn. Girl don't get your hopes up" Is the tweet a joke? Probably. Is it exhausting to see tweets like it go viral? Absolutely. If a man tweeted something like this it would be deleted or the poste…
