I've done this a lot myself. I think it's from feeling inferior to the woman (she has something that you're lacking) and then trying to compensate by knocking her down a notch (pretending you aren't interested in it).

You're making your success and failure with women part of your personal identity, which is making you believe that these outcomes are changing the person that you are, so you're experiencing cycles of birth and death. But what is really different about you as you go through these things? I mean, what are you really?

I care, but you might want to delete this post anyway because it's too general. All the posts on this forum are about how people are improving their game. Taking care of my health has definitely improved my overall satisfaction with life tremendously. Obviously, health will improve your sex life, since sex is all about the body.

I personally think that knowledge is good for your mind, so I don't think it's possible to learn too much theory, and happiness you find within your own mind is a lot more secure than happiness found in another person, like a woman.

This quote by Bertrand Russell has put a lot of things in perspective for me personally: One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one's work is terribly important. You may find it helpful, if you have a philosophic kind of mindset.

Yeah, that is impressive. I was just thinking that the double dating is an interesting networking idea, but is it realistic? It seems kind of out there to me.

Was that you in the video picking up those three chicks on the UC campus? Do you ever follow up with those chicks with boyfriends and go on double dates, or were you just demonstrating getting the number for the video?

I think this term "alpha" represents the goal we're striving for as men. On a personal level, we refine its definition as we get closer to it and can see the destination better. Much like in Buddhism where the biggest question is: What is Buddha?

I disagree. I think digging into semantics can give you a lot of insight. For example, I think what most people mean by "alpha" is "socially powerful". The ability to influence or force people to give you what you want.

I recently tried this with a girl in my class and bombed horribly (I posted about it). Now everything is very awkward and I get nervous just going to that class. The problem is that I went in there without any plan or anything. If I were to do it again I would prepare some things to say, a couple stories and so forth. I'm actually not a bad conversationalist, but I was so nervous I couldn't really think when I was interacting with her. Also, I would have a plan for taking it to the next level. T…

Bah, this situation is irreparably jacked.

It sounds to me like you've plunged headfirst into the friend zone already. It's okay, though. Don't beat yourself up or anything. You really don't want to come across as harmless. That's really what lands you firmly in the friend zone. You want to be a sexual threat. Go for her body first, then worry about deeper connections with her once you've slept with her. If you try to capture her heart first, then you're sending her the signal that sex is not important to you. But sex is very important i…

That is exactly what happened, is that I waited to talk to her. But talking to her right away is just a workaround. It doesn't really solve the mental problem that causes the anxiety. I think the real problem was that I believed that the anxiety was going to trip me up and that I was going to scare her. It became a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Well, I decided to open with a little joke, you know? But I was way too nervous to make a good, light delivery. I basically ran up next to her and said, "You know, we gotta quit meeting like this". She's young and didn't get the reference, so she was like, "Derrrrrrrrrrrrr mumble mumble mumble". I'm like, "What's that?" because she was talking so quietly that I didn't get a single word of it. She muttered, "Well, we walk the same way." I'm like, "Derrrrrrrrrrr I know." At this point my mind was …

How awkward was it? If it was just nervous hemming and hahing, I wouldn't even acknowledge it or think about it, I would just try being smoother next time. Yeah, I think that's good advice. It really wasn't that bad, I guess. Thanks!

I feel really guilty about this, like I've committed some kind of crime or something. I feel like I'm going to get busted by the Rape Prevention Squad when I go back to school.

Believe it or not, I actually do talk to random people all the time. It's just this particular situation that got all jacked for some reason. I even cold approached a girl in basically the same situation (walking behind her down a hallway and starting up a conversation), same exact type of girl (cute, short, brown hair, shy), but it went really smoothly and she was all into it. The only difference I can see is that the previous girl I had never seen before, but this girl I've seen every day for …
