Paranoid about 'gold diggers' when net worth seems to be the only thing the dude brings to the table. Hilarious. "My money makes me highly desirable in the dating scene, so I get to have a shitty personality and unreasonable/ dehumanizing expectations of women since they should throw themselves at a wealthy man like me" also these dudes: "............Why do women only seem to want me for my money, they're all GoLd DiGgErS 😭".

Guaranteed if this was reported it would be dismissed because "it's a he said she said situation" and there's no concrete proof that it was intentional. And 100% the guy and his mom will lie and swear up and down it was an honest to god mistake

Before they turn 26. 2 women were 25, he's never dated anyone older than that. His gf is 24 right now so I'm sure in the next year or 2 we'll hear they split up

I got a cheap full sized microfiber towel meant for quick drying while backpacking and it has lasted me several years now with no signs of wear

Exactly. I have curly hair down past my waist and have these towels as well which I take everywhere with me. I would be offended if my bf asked me to leave a towel behind because he thinks it's weird enough to be embarrassed by, let alone taking the towel out as I slept. She's probably tried to explain why multiple times and he doesn't pay attention as well. And the fact that she asked for space and he bombarded her with calls and texts. This dude has no respect for her.

This makes me think of a study I read once where they found that men in meetings still perceived that women talked more than them even when the men spoke 50% more often than women in the meeting.

Yes! A true male feminist ally uses their position of privilege to amplify the voices and experiences of women, not talk over them and try to take the lead. Because guess what surprise men you do not understand or have lived experiences of being a woman in a patriarchal oppressive system. So you should be listening to women's stories, concerns, and solutions and using that to check your male friends and yourself in order to fight against the causes of women being oppressed. But surprise that req…

Right he literally says he won't get into a relationship before "lots of sex". He just want you to be fully trusting (without earning it) and naive for his benefit immediately after meeting him.

Tried showing this to a work friend thinking she'd find it ridiculous as well. She said she sees nothing wrong with any of it and he seems straight forward which she likes and that this way he can only match with people who feel the same as him. Oh and he's probably a model or really good looking so he gets people asking if he's fake a lot. And when I asked about how screwed up the comment about putting up walls is she said he's right, putting up walls in a relationship is bad. 🧐

Yeah I get the vibe he's been the "golden child" all his life so his word is the most important determinant in the families opinion on the situation. Aka they ate up his lies and BS and discredited anything contradictory to what he says happened

I feel like there's so many women who never break out of the mindset that women are defined by their relationship to men. If they don't ever challenge that mindset and narrative they become stuck in the frame of reference that women's most valuable role is the success they have in relation to men in their lives. No matter how successful they are in other areas of life they still tie their intrinsic worth to men. And this is reaffirmed time and time again to these women by the narrative that wome…

Last year I cut off a pick me friend like this. She always dated toxic NV men and gave them crazy chances even after they abused and mistreated her. She accepted them treating her like absolute trash. Even got back with one guy after she has a restraining order because he broke into her house while on probation after being arrested for breaking into his ex's house and assaulting his ex's significant other. He also had a major drug problem and she put up with his benders. She always complained ab…

Actually some Indigenous cultures before Canada was colonized were matriarchal. But colonization worked very hard at dismantling these martriarchy systems and stripped indigenous women of their rights, voices, and positions in the hopes of extinguishing indigenous society and culture. All for the sake of "assimilation" to Christian and western patriarchal societal structures.

I just wanted to post saying I'm so sorry what you went through. I also threw myself into trying to convince myself that I wanted the sex so that it felt easier to process what happened. For years I felt conflicted and guilt and like it wasn't valid to call it rape because I responded to the trauma and dear by continuing to have sex with this person (we had been dating at the time of the assault and continued to date for a bit after). It took a lot of time to reconcile those conflicting emotions…

Yeah no. Your gut is telling you something isn't right about him. Trust it. Also what parent invites random adults to their TEENAGE daughters birthday party. When I was 16 I'd want nothing to do with that. It would probably be best not to give him your phone number or any more information about yourself. Also if he escalates with his creepiness and you can afford to get cameras or a security system because this sounds like a man I'd be concerned about investing in learning my schedule and habits

Also the fact that he claims she contributes nothing financially but makes $80k a year. I guarantee this man has major blindness to all his wife does in their marriage, life, and home.

I don't even get this, like maybe she is but girl's paying for those appointments all by herself. I bet he just had issue that she wouldn't financially need him to "spoil" her (spoil in his cheap and low effort ways that he recycles for all potential pickmes he dates, but wouldn't be impressive for a woman who spoils herself and is better off financially)

That or there's something in their relationship that is making her feel horribly unsafe. But I hope it's just her being checked out of the relationship and repulsed by him. Because the other scenario is frightening to consider

His ego is so bruised he sent this whole wall of text and rambled on just to conclude it with his key point, aka ridiculous roundabout logic about how he was planning to end things and OP must have sensed it(??) So that's why he was dumped. So must energy spent on humiliating himself just so he could feel superior again.

Ok I'm actually in school for social work right now, taking counselling with individuals and this is called subtractive empathy. There's an example in my textbook about what not to do... Verbatim it says: "(subtractive) that's not a very good way to talk. I think you ought to consider his feelings too." The textbook also states how this kind of put-down is an inappropriate use of power, takes the focus away from the client and is a big reason people do not return for future sessions. Therapists …

I found these interesting to read side by side because I was just reading something about how cave paintings were found to be made by women, based on analyzing hand prints they found the middle fingers were longer which is characteristic of women's hands. So men didn't even make the paintings and art they mentioned.

They are. When I worked as a residents assistant we had to have meeting with one of the male residents because he would pee in bottles and leave them in the room and his roommates were complaining. He shared the room with 3 other guys in the dorm and the washroom was right across the hall.... Like how do these men think this is reasonable behaviour

This one was a while ago but: I went on a last minute quick date for bubble tea, mostly because yum bubble tea and I had some free time. Plus the guy and I had been talking online for almost 2 weeks so I thought why not. I arrived and in the span of 40 minutes he told me how he's practically a virgin, not really though because he had sex with his last girlfriend but only her and since then he's a born again virgin, he's found god and wants to wait until marriage. Mine isn't always pristine. But this Valentine's I paid a friend's daughter to do my dishes for me as a gift to myself (and she was happy to get some money for her own galentines plans). I'd rather pay someone when I need a break than have a man who adds to the dish pile without doing any lol

Same, I dated a 19/20 yr old when I had just turned 14. Two actually, first one drugged me and took my virginity, second I was with for years. All of highschool in fact. My parents knew, supported it, and actively encouraged it by letting him spend the night regularly. Messed me up too. I'm not even a parent and I don't understand how they thought that was ok. He gave me drugs and alcohol, manipulated and groomed me, even threatened suicide when I broke up with him (and I stupidly took him back …

Wow I'm in such a similar situation. Broke up a week before Valentine's. He hadn't been putting in any effort and I wasn't feeling respected. After a disagreement I asked him if he wanted to try to put more effort in, he hesitated and wasn't sure so I got up and told him I won't stay where I'm not wanted or respected and we were over. I definitely feel lighter, but I'm also annoyed at myself for how long I put up with his low effort disrespect when I knew he wasn't trying and didn't appreciate m…

Honestly. I dated a guy (who was 32) for a few months who hated cleaning and cooking or anything "domestic". He worked crazy hours at times so he would get a cleaner to come in and clean his place for him and he almost exclusively ordered take out (he only did groceries once or twice with me the whole time we dated). Then covid hit and the cleaner was no longer working and his house devolved in to a pig sty. It was disgusting. One day I brought this guy toilet bowl cleaner and other necessary cl…

The space pictured that my nex took over is in the livingroom. He used his PC for porn regularly, even when I was home and awake. Even though his screen was visible from the hall connecting our bedroom to the bathroom and kitchen. There was nothing way I wouldn't have seen it. No sex for us but he masturbated to porn at least once a day 🤮 I put up with way too much bs behaviour, never again. I should've kicked him out waaaayyy before I did.

It isn't a whole room, it's more of a corner. My living room is a very long rectangle so 2/3rds of it is the living room. And this corner was where his PC/computer desk/mini fridge/ and massive clutter was located. But yes a whole room is definitely excessive

I literally sent this book to my neighbour after she was in a toxic relationships with a misogynistic mentally unstable controlling and verbally abusive joke of a man. He was dysfunction incarnate and I kept trying to tell her it's only a matter of time before when escalates from verbal abuse and threats to violence. Then he spit in her face. Luckily she got out before it got bad. They had only been together for 7 months and he was already doing all this awful stuff to her. I'm glad she left him…

Tell me about it. I dated a guy who said he believed in equality and women's rights, we had in depth conversations in the beginning on the topic of women's rights and women's issues and he kept up the act pretty well. And then a few months in to dating went on a tirade about how hard white men have it now a days and how the liberal agenda has gone too far, and of course that is sooooo unjust that women and minorities get "priority" for jobs because of incentive programs. When I actually argued w…

I know she should, and I agree because I would do the same. But she won't. She grew up in a rough environment, has a lot of unresolved traumas. She had a drug addiction and was on the streets in her teens so she's averse to police involvment. And her ex husband from years ago was incredibly abusive. Stomped on her face once until she lost a few teeth. So trying to convince her that this situation is very wrong is difficult, because it's nothing compared to what she's been through in the past. She is HIV negative, they're going to do one more check before she's induced to be extra sure. Unfortunately she hasn't kicked him out yet. She's done, you can tell she is. But she's scared and he has a temper so I think that's what's preventing her from fully ending it (apparently he's been breaking things around the house and almost hit her in the head with a full pop can he threw at her). But I'm trying to support her through it and help her seperate from him.
