Its just that men's issue are a speck compared to the deluge of ways that women are systemically oppressed.

Honestly, statistics can be manipulated to say whatever you want and often miss the nuance of a situation, i.e. men are almost always attacked by other men.

My husband says this morning, "hey, it is men's day today." I said, "Suck it, every day is men's day for yalls privileged asses." Mens day was created in response to womens day and that is it. Men have to intrude on everything to help uplift women. Also, men cannot experience sexism for the same reason white people cannot experience racism--it is based on systematic oppression.

I would also add financial boundaries like keep your savings and checking accounts separate until marriage, do not co-sign for each other on any loans until marriage, do not invest in cars, houses, etc together until marriage. Say you break up. In some cases, depending on how the paperwork was done, you might not be entitled to anything in the case of a break-up. But on the flip side, if you co-signed on a loan and he defaults on it 2 years after yall split, you're now financially liable for tha…

I am straight but I 100% can see a woman dolled up or wearing revealing clothing without sexualizing her. Scrotes don't understand that appreciating someone's beauty or taste is different from sexualizing them, as the latter is a type of objectification and former is mere reverance or appreciation. I'm just like, hell yeah girl, killing it! lol And any pickme's encouraging scrote behavior or justifying it are just insecure and also don't know how to appreciate another woman's beauty without toxi…

To me, bare minimum = respect, love, helping with chores and cleanliness, actively trying to please in bed, doing equal part with kids, is mature and can take care of themselves, pays for dates, actively tries to spend time together, pays bills, rent etc on time. All of this without asking for recognition or a medal. Asking for recognition or a medal = LVM. Anything beyond that, like going the extra mile or out of their way to make you happy, is HVM.

Posted something on this thread about in laws earlier but BUT I have another thought to share with you ladies One thing I'm grateful for re: this sub is that it has encouraged me to trust my feelings and gut reactions. If I react poorly to something or have a negative feeling, maybe that is for a good reason and I should listen, and let myself feel that emotion. The worst lie men tell women IMO is that we are too sensitive or if we react a certain way to something that its our fault.

I think the worst lie men tell women (some times vice versa but usually this is the dynamic) is telling us we are "too sensitive" or "overreacting" over a sexist or bad joke and then refusing to apologize and take responsibility like an adult. I had an ex who thought if a joke made me upset or angry it was my fault for feeling that way, not his fault for telling the joke or not owning up to it and apologizing.

I've heard a lot of people refer to this movie as some form of a breakup movie where the main character finally finds family in the end in a fucked up way. Thats just one interpretation, of course. Ughhhhh why do men do this to their SAHMs? They give up so much to raise your child and enable you to have a successful career. Its such BS. There was a similar post to this a few days ago from a man in a similar age group. Do they all automatically turn into massive babies when they reach 40? How men (i know this was a woman who wrote it, but men often do this) can be disgusted with their lady's bodies after pulling off a massive feat is beyond me. Like she just made you a baby, you soggy lampshade! A mini you! Like some sort of goddess! Be fucking grateful! I'd tell this 39 yr old bald guy to gtfo, try and find a younger woman to date, and let me know how that goes for you 😊 At the very least, if i took boudoir photos my husband didn't like for whatever reason, he'd at least pretend to like them for my sake, and try not to bring me down.

I've told him multiple times that I hate the silent treatment and that it is toxic behavior. He'd either deny it or pull the excuse that he was busy (we both work from home atm). Which I know isn't true, because even when he is busy, he makes an effort to talk to me and joke around with me, like office buddies. But when he is mad at me, he just totally blocks me off.

The fucking hypocrisy. I can't. Says he won't go on dates with women that are larger/not conventionally attractive but then he's not "shallow," because he doesn't wanna set up his relationship for "failure." Besides the reasoning for breaking up with exes/why he spoke so highly of them, IMO its not first date talk to bring up your exes. That's a moment for you two to get to know each other and focus on the present. He took that spotlight from you to extol his exes. I dont like it.

When women talk about their experiences with harassment or oppression, we are looking for support and empathy from our allies. We are looking for someone just to listen. Not for Chad to question and gas light us. Men can't wrap their heads around that and are the worst allies.

Omg, YES. This so hard. It happens on every. Single. Thread. On there! And then notice how the sub has this long, weird title and not just r/ women to make it more "inclusive." However, none of the male subreddits have been made to do this, just goes to show how women are forced to open up their safe spaces at a detriment because men cannot stop acting like victimized babies. I hate it.

For sure. Growing up I had a twin brother, so all other extraneous factors being equal, his car insurance was TWICE what my rate was. For good reason--he was the king of accidents, speeding tickets, etc. He even got sued. I have not gotten so much as a parking ticket in 4 years.

Invisible Women: Exposing Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado-Perez Basically. Everything from infrastructure to the academic world to medicine is designed for men because "man" is equivalent to "default" and "female" is considered "niche" despite comprising 1/2 the global population. We are a non-thought when data is gathered to make major social decisions. Infuriating.
