Don't bother. She'll do it for you sooner or later.

It didn’t make sense to me either. Same scenario, maybe less financially, but very comfortable. Sex life great, every area. I kept asking her to finish college, find what made her happy. I think she just wanted to be kept without real demands of any kind. It was a huge mistake for me to stay and a mistake to waste any time trying to decipher her behavior. My story anyway.

I had one almost as bad, but she had two personalities. One with me and one when she wasn't with me. Lied about big and small things to the point I began researching mental illness thinking she needed help. Finally discovered she was trying to trade up while married to me....monkeybranching I think it's called. Divorced her and stopped thinking about it other than occasional epiphanies about my feelings or some new thought about how long it took me to walk away. We have two adult sons, live in t…

Something changed. Ask yourself what changed.... If she hasn't done anything yet, I'd pull some money out to have an emergency fund. You should also cancel any joint credit and perhaps go to all electronic billing....change passwords on any account only in your name and set up dual authentication. My assumptions would be either she's gone crazy or met someone else. Whatever the reason, protect yourself. Looking back, I'd invest in a great attorney before therapy.

I hear you. In my upbringing, I was told not to accept gifts from strangers or let others pay my way. Parents are the exception….but generally, accepting something of value from mom’s new BF would have been inappropriate when I was their age. I agree with you and many of the comments. It isn’t really hurting them and I don’t think gifts equate to a relationship or infringing on my relationship with my sons. It’s just odd and I think it speaks more to the person spending money to gain approval pe…

My sons are adults now, if young adults. They both see the toxic. Her impact…I think both are going to have trust issues after seeing her level of deceit. I tried communicating enough to be people who shared two sons…just impossible and finally just blocked her everywhere.

I've made the decision to file, but am still going through the motions of being a good husband....actrually sincere about it. Long story, but in the checkout line at the supermarket, I bought flowers. I actually like flowers and have been buying fresh flowers each week for at least 20 years. Anyway, the cashier said...."happy wife, happy life". It's amazing how many people assume exactly what you're saying. I've been buying flowers for years and everyone thinks I've either done something wrong o…

She did from time to time, but far, far, far more attention to herself, her shopping, her hair, clothing, makeup, car, gym....plastic surgery...anything you can name. If you use the word narcissist, everything thinks you're just repeating the diagnosis of the day, but women are often very focused on themselves.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
