So, the ex is now dating another in a long string of guys. This one apparently checks her boxes and she’s actually making changes to try to make it work.

While I’m happy to see her move on, both of my sons are suddenly being gifted expensive items by the new boyfriend. My oldest son had a flat tire and this guy just gives him money for a new set. Same kinds of behavior with my youngest. My sons are 22 and 25 for reference. I always tried to encourage earning what they have and for a new boyfriend a couple months in, the gifts seem …well, inappropriate at this point. At the very least, while my sons are adults, it’s way over the top in value.

Thoughts? Guessing the guy is wealthy enough to do it, I just wouldn’t lead with big dollar gifts for a girlfriend’s adult sons…. It’s one thing to pay for dinner…completely different to gift high value collectors liquor or new tires. My oldest son is in good shape financially, makes about $90k, no debt other than a small condo and has savings.

His brother is in his last year of college and is doing well, although working at a part time job.

It’s just odd and I’m not quite sure how to read the behavior. My ex-wife has never helped with expenses related to college, medical or anything after the divorce in the past…so this is a bit out of character from her side as well. Actually, she didn’t during the marriage either.
