I had all the ingredients prepped out on the counter but got so sad thinking of cooking for myself 😭 I almost didn’t do it, put the meat in the fridge and was resigning myself to cereal lol, but I pushed through!! Made meatballs with LOTS of garlic in them. 🩷🩷 thank you :”)

Thank you so much, this is exactly what im going to do! Cook something he can’t eat (he’s garlic intolerant hehe), organize my beauty stuff, be comfy. I know I can do all of that with him here anyway but I’ll try to see it as a mini spa vacation. Well, as much as one can while working and going to school LOL. Thank you so much 🥰 I really do need some girls in my life!

I’m going to try to get into this mindset starting…now!! I went to homegoods after school to get some self care pampering stuff but instead I got stuff for the home LOL ive been dying to organize my beauty stuff nicely! So I think that’ll be the goal. Do a home reset and focus on myself :) Or try..hahah.

I love the cooking aspect. He’s garlic intolerant (so sad) so I refrain from garlic recipes..time to bust them out. 😄 thank you!

Thank you for your input! I really appreciate it. What would leadership look like in this regard? Yes, and he says he’ll help when I ask him (which is true), but he’ll help with select things. Like loading dishwasher, taking out trash, coming along with me to do laundry etc but not the folding or cooking or things like that. If I ask him to wipe counters he will, that sort of thing.

He doesn’t make any comments, he knows I’ve felt insecure lately and has made more nice comments than usual. He’s a great and patient guy. I just am having trouble grappling with living in this porn-sick world to be honest. Everything feels ridiculous and like I shouldn’t even bother doing anything.

I’ll try to go back to this, thank you. I used to initiate because I wanted to feel good and he was so attractive to me, but now this whole thing has made not only me feel unattractive but not as attracted to him too. It makes me really sad. I miss wanting to jump his bones, now I feel gross like I don’t deserve to feel sexy. I’m also turned off when I think about him watching porn, don’t want him touching me, it feels icky and gross and demeaning. I hope I get my sense of self back soon.

I’m usually cheerful and happy, but this porn thing really messes me up, which is why I am so exasperated. I don’t feel like myself. As I said, it feels useless to do anything or look a certain way at this point. I know this is so dumb to think like because there will ALWAYS be better no matter who you are, or what you do, but I can’t help but feeling so much despair.

Ah man I hear you, but when I’ve tried this before he says “You look fine” or “fine” when I ask him! 😭 I’ve kind of just stood there and been like oh, okay! He didn’t realize it sounded a little weird until I told him it didn’t really sound like a compliment or good lol. I think now he mixes it up with “good” to “looks good” and the fine variations in the mix lol.

Definitely disheartening. 😔 He does present me to his family and friends which I think is very sweet and shows he’s not embarrassed of me LOL. All of them tell him he’s very lucky and that I’m beautiful, one of his little nieces even told me I looked like a princess once!! I melted. It makes me think mister, why can’t you learn from them hahah. Awww that’s so cute, I love that! I’ve never done that before but it sounds like the perfect thing to do! I’m so awkward I wouldn’t even know how to act …

Thank you for taking the time to respond, means so much to me. You’re so right, I want the compliments to come because he was so enthralled by my beauty which is why I really hate having the talk. :( I’ve tried to bring it up before but he’ll say something simple like “of course I think you’re attractive” and that’ll immediately satisfy me and I’ll drop the subject to not go any further. It’s like I had the quick validation I needed but then I’m left feeling sad a few days later when I haven’t r…

Thank you for hearing me out! 🥹 I’ve honestly mentioned it a few times before but stopped because I didn’t want to sound like I’m nagging. He always tells me of course he thinks I’m attractive and that he thinks I’m beautiful but never really has given me an answer as to why he doesn’t vocalize it? It’s more like a “of course you’re attractive to me that’s why I approached you in the first place” and in the moment that satisfies me so I immediately drop it, especially since I don’t want to fish …

This is so sweet to read 🩷🌷 I think something that stood out to me the most was, “I have been noticing the flowers for the first time”. That’s ana amazing sentiment and emotion, there’s something really beautiful about noticing the beauty in everyday things.

Awww we got this beautiful! It’s definitely a huge adjustment, much bigger than I thought it would be. I can’t believe my naivety though haha, like I really thought it would be the easiest thing in the world to be the exact same way once living together! 😭 Like pfft how different can it be? I really dislike how “pissy” and nag-y I’ve been but I think taking a step back and communicating with them is really important! I also love journaling!! I don’t do it as often as I should but I definitely ha…

That’s hard to come to terms with, living with this. I love him dearly and if I ask him to do something, he definitely will. I just hate how there’s no initiative on his end, it’s always “well I’ll help, just ask me”. He knows his main task is to take out the trash, if he sees it full, why can’t he just do it? Why do I have to remind him to do this too?? It’s a lot of mental load. I love who he is as a person but I’m really afraid of a future with kids, or when we have actual demanding jobs (I w…

I was always a firm believer in getting married before living together. Ha, well not that firm I guess. I came to think that maybe living together first /is/ important after these last months but you know what? I realized I ignored all these things in the dating stage. I knew he was more on the lazy side, I knew he kept his place “livable” (no trash all over the place but not the most tidy either), yet I still chose to ignore it. Obviously everything is more apparent once you’re living under the…
