Interesting opinion. I'll try to give mine. I think this comes back to the following question. If you could upload your brain into a computer, that would promise to simulate a most satisfying life imaginable for yourself, would you go in it? You have a promise that the life will be so great/fulfilling from a neurological point of view that you could never get anything comparable in tis world. Its not the worst sin in the world. Oh no, I'm not trying to promote robot-like honesty. There are many situations where it's best to withold information or similar to have a good experience for everyone. Some social awareness is needed for this. In situations where this is not the case though, I'm all for it. Instead of trying to read or analyze the other person, sometimes it's just easier to ask if you are unsure, you're both adults.
