I do get the freaking out bit - it's never easy to see someone close go through stuff you can't control - although I have been in that situation with my ex too (extended periods of no sex due to her own problems / illnesses, during which I was supportive and didn't even think of looking elsewhere) and so would've hoped for the same treatment.
