Some would say since Forrest is extremely slow, Jenny took advantage of the situation. Reading this I thought it was exagerated. Imagine the backlash if a guy took advantage of a girl who was portrayed as mentally challenged through an entire movie, leading to pregnancy and becoming a parent. We tend to have very light sentences here for some things that people find absolutely unacceptable, it's to such a point that we do actually punish some people who go over the speed limit more violently than people using child porn.
