I had a boyfriend when I was 16 and he was 17, he had LV tendencies (I think we both did, we were on the alternative teen clique, so everyone was rude tbh). He had a common name. We broke up when he went to college and lost touch. I was kinda bitter about it, because he confessed he wanted to break up to sleep with more people and that I was still in highschool and wouldn't understand. That made me feel painfully young. Without knowing this, I became work friends with his wife about 12 years lat…

I felt really alien in this way, until I joined a lady D&D group. If nerd activities are not your cup of tea, I'd suggest something you enjoy, but an all-female version of it. You obviously won't click with everyone, but it's one less step in the path of making new, worthwhile friendships. My aunt is in an all female hiking group and their sisterhood is so moving, they really leave no one behind. I hate when people say that the friends you make in college will be your true friends for life, beca…

We were really compatible sexually and had a good time, which blinded me for a while to the fact that he hadn't completed his bachelor's (as I was working my way through a masters, same age), he didn't work, he used his dads credit card to buy games (yet was perplexed about it not being free money?) and his clothes were an outright MESS. What made me see all of that, and stop making excuses for him was discovering all the Instagram and twitch "models" he followed (although some were straight up …

Agreed! Back in ye olde Facebook days, I used to do it too... but FDS taught me that blocking them is barely an inconvenience!

I agree, I definitely don't put career first or second, and my bios in social media read "30 year old former emo lady who writes fanfic and watches horror movies" I am super married tho, I just don't think that's relevant for my fanfic There have been people in my DMs trying to shoot their shot, as other have said, but it's barely an inconvenience to just block them

I'm not even in the US, so I want to agree with you and add that it transcends geographic frontiers. Source: studied law, have masters, abandoned the profession

You're right about flaca! This term of endearment is technically only for skinny people, but sometimes it's hard to break a habit (my grandpa has called my mom flaca all her life at every weight, even if 30 years later she isn't skinny, she's still la flaca). tbh I'm worried about the "po favo", which I read as baby speak of "por favor" (please). I wonder if it's regional or if he's trying to be cute???

I think when you met plays a big role. My relationship has a 7 year age gap and I’d never even consider dating a 30 year old when I was 23 (or a 25 year old when I was 18) But I met my husband in my late twenties, and so far it has worked, because of the attributes that you mentioned.

I’m in Women can be toxic, but even my worst wlw relation ended because she didn’t take me into account when accepting a job in another state, and she broke up with me in kind of an asshole way. As opposed to my worst straight relationship, in which I had to break up with the dude after dragging him along for TOO MANY years, because he couldn’t finish school, get a job, take me on a date, answer messages, dress appropriately for the context, or give a fuck about anything other than sex/porn I ha…

It’s cool but, she picked what to eat and what to watch. Sorry to repeat this ad nauseum, but normal healthy relationships do this all the time, not just during your period. Oh sorry, she also ate some chocolate and initiated cuddles that were reciprocated. Again, normal healthy relationship. Did she even get to buy the mirror, or the plant or the Christmas tree? If these are high standards, the bar is on the fucking floor.

It could totally be ddlg, but also some of us are immature in some situations (I don’t wanna be a kidult or a pick me, but I’m totally doing laundry right now while wearing Halloween cat ears). I looked at it like “being into the cart is really fun” but then again you might be right!

Absolutely! And when you think about it form this perspective, choosing who to open yourself to is NOT a small decision

That’s really what bothered me the most! They both obviously just want to hook up, and both situations could be creepy depending on original OP’s age (if she’s closer to 18 why tf is the 24 y/o interested and viceversa is she’s closer to 24) BUT DAMN, DONT BE ALONE WITH A DUDE FOR A FIRST DATE

I’m gonna shamelessly ride on your coattails and ask for pointers/resources. What is a must read for plant newbies? (p.s. my little garden used to be so pretty, but this summer/pandemic has been hell for it)
