I spent several years in jail as a young man. This set me back significantly. Financial literacy was not a part of my upbringing. I did not grow up with a father and my grandmother had to raise me because my mother was always in and out the mental institution. When you have no one to help you understand how things work, these kind of mistakes happen. I guarantee it will never happen again, but this is often how i learn. I try to use the internet but sometimes it's too late. I'm victim for sure. …

I'll take it a step further. Many men my age end up killing themselves because of the type of things I've gone through. So I'm very fortunate to still be here on the other side of depression 5 years later

There are so many men my age who have gone through what I've gone through and did not come out on the other side in a healthy relationship. So yes it's foolish to be starting a second family but it would be even more foolish to pass on a once in a lifetime opportunity for true love, peace and happiness.

Thanks. Yeah we would like to say that parenthood is something we want to plan and be ready for financially and mentally but sometimes we have to go with whatever we feel is the right decision at the time. While this may not be the ideal situation financially, mentally and spiritually it is fulfilling and ideal. We love and respect each other, we have a peaceful home and she has a large family full of loving caring, drama free people. While being financially stable would be ideal, I am over the …

I did not. I really didn't want to make any deals with her I just wanted everything to be over. I thought maybe it would be a nice thing not to burden her with bills as she was starting a new life. I guess I should have just brought it up she clearly didn't care about my financial situation

Yeah. My biggest flaw is not really being in a litigious family and everyone I knew from what I understood paid their rents and mortgages and repossession and garnishments were never a part of my childhood. So I had no real point of reference foe the severity of them serving me. I only heard of garnishment for like child support or alimony. I had no idea private companies can take money from poor people right out of their checks.

We are making due with what we got. This was not part of the plan but our daughter is brilliant and lovely and I wouldn't have it any other way. Also at the time my only obligation was child support. All this other stuff came after the fact.

Thanks. I really am tempted to ask since she just got a new mustang and I haven't had a car in 5 years. But I'm gonna resist the urge

Sounds like it. I see the being s little change though like the fact that all 4 of her attempts to take away my rights failed. But we got a long way to go

I'm 37 and this is my first unplanned pregnancy but definitely the last. I didn't plan on getting divorced but I guess she was looking forward to it

This is it 😆 I don't get how people can be on their 3rd or 4th marriage into their 60s still looking for love. If this don't work that's it. I'm also getting a Vasectomy so no more kids. 😆

My new wife isn't happy about it but she is supportive in us trying to get out of this situation. You right I might just have to take it for the next year or so

Maybe yeah if I responded to the suit this wouldn't have happened but I was overwhelmed. She just had a baby but will be working soon.

Thanks. I think I just gotta suck it up and get some extra bread and in 6 or 7 months I can be in a position to finally stop living so close to zero dollars every month.

And we were very careful too. The kids didn't meet her until like the 3rd year when we knew for sure we were in it for the long haul

The official divorce was 6 years ago... it's been 4 years of litigation

Nah the whole process took about 6 years ... 1 years of dating and just having fun.. found the one... we dated 3 years... had an unplanned pregnancy but it all worked out and we were engaged on the end of third year...

Thanks. It's really sad because I feel bad for her. But I can't do anything about it. Having that kind of mindset sounds like hell on earth. But you're right. I don't think she will ever change she if she does and I let my guard down she will strike again. The last time she tried to talk to me about how she wants to do better and is co parent better for the kids and let's work together.. she didn't know that I read the court documents she filed calling me all kinds of things a month earlier. Damn. That's wild. I would be RUINED if it all came out at once but I was doing it all at once for a long time until she decided to go the garnishing route and basically shot herself in the foot 🙃

I can see where you are going with that but I can not take any chances... I need to make it clear what is happening every time.. because this person is so outrageous that she will say "I didn't know you were coming" or complain if I don't send the text... she is not satisfied wth anything I do... I can't just let her micromanage me so long after the divorce... it's just a control tactic at this point... this text shouldn't bother her as much as it does as it's a non issue... You're right... /r/Divorce_Men17/10/23 12:04 PM

Yes. She did this to herself in my case as well... there's SO much peace when I'm home with my new baby and my girl.. it was very stressful living with her and overall I'm glad she did it because I was too kind to her even though she abused me for so long only to discard me after the fact

You're right. I hate that I have to deal wth a narc for another 10 years but you are right... I really look into the details abs is textbook narcissist... I just wish it wasn't so because everything I'm seeing this is a nightmare
/r/Divorce_Men16/10/23 05:51 PM

So annoying. I've done nothing to deserve this other than not bending to her will and her demands

Thanks. That helps a lot. As long as I am honest, caring and supportive of my children I guess whatever she does should not have as much of an effect because the will choose to lean towards to peaceful side of things

Hell yeah. Recording and screenshotting everything
/r/Divorce_Men19/08/23 02:01 PM

Damn that sucks... sorry she did that to you... I don't get into heated conversations with her anymore... it's a dead end.. completely pointless... I don't wanna be at war but oh well I guess it is what it is

Thanks. It took everything in me not to respond but I didn't... I let her get her shit off she then when she was done I left. No reaction. I was definitely pissed on the ride back home though 😆 but yeah I think she's trying to get me to react considering there's a ring camera right there as we speak.

After taxes this eventually ends up being like 3k a month give or take . My best is 1250 every two weeks and once a month we get checks based on how much we produce in sales, and overall percentage commission .. sometimes those commission checks are 1000-1200 on top of the 1250 pay and sometimes the extra checks are 2500.. it all depends.. anyway.. thanks for the support

Yeah I think in georgia you have to say" I'm recording you"
/r/Divorce_Men12/06/23 05:24 PM

Thanks and you're right. I think for my safety the police station would be the best option. I had recordings and documentation of every time she did this
/r/Divorce_Men12/06/23 03:27 PM

Thanks. Been recording every conversation as of late but body cam might be the move.. they can see how she puts her ugly Doberman in between us when we speak like I'm gonna hurt her and it's there to protect me. So annoying
/r/Divorce_Men12/06/23 01:46 PM
1

Thanks. I think you're right if she wants it let her do the work.. she's complaining that I'm making shit harder when she is the one who has made my life harder and whatever difficulty she is having is HER DOING by choosing to divorce to her more control of the situation

She the custodial parent right now. I get them every other weekend

You're right.. been grey rocking her for almost 5 years now.. I'm surprised I was able to keep it up for so long but it's getting harder and harder not to respond
/r/Divorce_Men28/05/23 07:40 AM

I also went over the documents and the divorce decree states very clearly " all communication must be civil and cordial and must not be belligerent, demeaning or use profanity" and she just can't help but to rage... she needs it...

Imma space it out. Thanks. I think you're right.. just take her to court because yes she has already tried to put me in the worst light possible and her parents have become her enablers.. maybe 4 years ago I would have entertained the idea of wiring with her but after she tried to modify my visitation to supervised only by saying I LET ME DAUGHTER GET SEXUALLY ABUSED MULTIPLE TIMES AND DID NOTHING ABOUT IT ... she will stoop to any low and I dont think she and I will ever come to an agreement Sh…
