Why wait to hook up?I don't know about the rest of the people here. But I acknowledged my marriage was over long before the divorce decree was drafted. I was dying for that level of affection by the time I had settled in my new place. I couldn't handle it past 6 months. I met had a bit of fun and then I met a woman who i am excited to be around. I will leave work early to see her. My kids noticed the shift in mood pretty quickly. Go for! Remember who you were once upon a time! | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/12/25 09:46 PM
Had trial yesterday. Lost the kids. How to cope with this? Please share your tips. You should take this to the appeals court. The tide is starting to shift, and long-sitting judges struggle to accept that fathers are a valuable part of children's lives. I know of two people that have had it overturned and I recall seeing a post recently about something similar. Good luck. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/11/25 05:53 PM
When kids meet new GF.Mine could tell when I was sad or feeling defeated. Always the you okay dad questions. I would only caution if this woman isn't someone who you can see a legitimate long term relationship with (several years) then hold off. Because at that age they get attached and social media is already telling kids relationships aren't worth it. Be the stable one. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/10/25 12:10 AM
When kids meet new GF.Not sure what's going on but I got lectured on this exact topic and mine is 13. If she is bringing you happiness I would say go for it! Hopefully they are of the maturity to see dad is happy not the wounded man during the divorce. I might be projecting on that assumption. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/10/25 11:52 PM
When to introduce?Okay, then, at what point does it shift from 'I'm giving time to adjust to a new stage of life'? Is it one year, two, five, or indefinite? I have a friend who divorced, and he gave his boy 5 years and ended multiple relationships. Now I'm worried he has given up trying in life. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/10/25 07:27 AM
When to introduce?Ok, I understand it was kind of a long-winded post so it was hard to read all of it. The agreement was 50/50 so far I have had him 20 out of last 30 days. When he is with me he knows he has my attention, we do outings, miniature golf, karts, chess, games, active participation in his counseling. He does prefer to play video games with his friends or watch videos. The problem is that I deserve happiness too. I don't have to be perpetually single or never have a life outside of him. I would enjoy t… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/10/25 07:09 AM
Here’s a FML story for you!For a man who is well-experienced in FML items. I can provide my therapist contact info that has offered treatment for free, due to some of our conversations. 1 - I was expecting far more from the title. And just let me say I had the same feeling as when I finally saw the season finale of The Sopranos. 2 - The daughter thing does suck, although through hard work you are able to help in a time of need. I was not happy when my daughter and her boyfriend moved in the expected me to be ecstatic with… | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/07/25 12:57 AM
