Simply put, not every woman can achieve a thigh gap. It's not an issue of diet or exercise, but bone structure. It's all about how your pelvis is shaped and situated, and where your femur connects. Some pelvises are wider, some have "leg holes" that are set further apart. Here's a clip that I found kind of interesting about the whole bone structure thing. Yes, it's from that show The Doctors, which can often be a bunch of hokey mid-afternoon talk-show crap, but they illustrate the whole pelvis i…

I don't think feminists find hot women offensive on principle... it's the women in media who reduce their personhood to just their sexually available bodies that rankle the feminist cause. There's nothing inherently wrong with hot naked people; they're awesome. The critique is generally of the ladies who let the "slut" persona consume their image, who package themselves as nothing more than a series of fuckable holes. Not that there's anything wrong with sex workers (that's a business arrangemen…

A few years back I joined a military forum where soldiers and ex soldiers would discuss and advise on all things military, and it was quite similar in its brutal administration. Those who were most knowledgeable were given due respect and those who spoke out of turn or expounded on subjects they had little expertise in were put in their place. And not just by the Administrators or the leaders, but everyone, including the novices who had committed themselves to earning the respect of the men in t…

but these guys can be sooo spiteful What's most jarring is how spiteful some of the RP men can be toward each other. Some guys seem to have never passed Posting Etiquette 101, and others are more interesting in posturing like pack animals ("I'm an alpha, you're a beta, grrrrr."), but the worst are the guys who are total dicks to newcomers. Every so often some jerkbag pipes up in a "Help, I'm new here but I've been dumped and my world is falling apart" post with something that when boiled down to…

Maybe I just lucked out on the man lottery, but mine has a very traditional and very Catholic view on sexuality. It's kind of freeing in a way, knowing that he's not going to pressure me beyond my physical and emotional comfort zone. Unless it's for a colonoscopy, ain't nothin' getting near my butt. Sometimes I wish he could let go of his "sex is dirty" mentality a little, but I'd rather be with someone who has a few hangups that keep him sexually conservative than be with someone who's into fre…

Why not devote those energies to bigger social issues that affect women, like wider access to family planning methods, or the fight against sex trafficking? How are these two issues not also related to men? Why do we only need to focus on the women within these? THIS is why I disagree with feminism in large part. It likes to pretend that women are the only ones that suffer, the only ones that need advocacy. They are related to men, but they're also causes that would be a better outlet for femini…

Feminism today is radical and completely unnecessary. This idea that women are oppressed is an illogical one. We are strictly talking about 'doing what you want'. There are so many pressing women's issues worldwide that it really is depressing when young first-world feminists devote their energies to raging on tumblr about how men take up more space on public transportation because ~patriarchal rape culture or something. Why not devote those energies to bigger social issues that affect women, li…

The little girl with the bob looks cute. Kids don't always take good care of their hair, so sometimes a shorter cut just makes sense. (I remember baking cookies with my mother when I was still pretty little, and my long pigtails got caught in the mixer. Needless to say, it was time for a change of hairstyle after the beaters yanked a couple handfuls of hair out.) A short haircut all hinges on the shape of the face, the style of the cut, and how the wearer maintains it. Miley's haircut doesn't lo…

The whole foodie revolution has made it that a lot of people (regardless of gender or orientation) between that ages of 25 and 35 are getting into cooking. They're interested in higher quality ingredients and modern upscale twists on old-world staples, so you see a lot of young-ish folks making things like baked goat cheese polenta squares or radicchio and gorgonzola ravioli instead of tater-tot casseroles and frito pie. The "hot dish" food of the Baby Boomers and their parents is quickly on the…

But there's a difference between being a related sub and subset circlejerk. If one can't openly discuss, analyze, and yes critique, what goes on over in TRP ManLand then there's no conversation or exchange of ideas, it's just self-congratulatory back-patting. Empirically speaking, there is a certain contingent of men who show up on TRP bubbling over with anger and making the obligatory "This is my first post... I'm so pissed at my ex and just the whole system in general... I just need to destroy…

I understand the necessity for the term, though. It's different than "jumped while walking through the park rape" or "home invasion rape," because when the term is used correctly, it implies that the victim knew and trusted their attacker well enough to go on a date... and then things turned out horribly wrong (and not ~wrong in the "I got drunk and feel funny about a dub-con encounter" because that's a sooper grey no-man's land that I don't want to touch with a ten foot pole). "Date rape" just …

Maybe it was a Catholic thing a few decades ago, but it's much more of a Protestant thing now. Especially with Evangelicals. They're generally the ones pushing the Purity Ball/Abstinence Only culture, and as a result the kids are far more likely to saddleback.

The new mommylogic is horrifying. The new batch of mothers popping up on social media are turning motherhood into this glamorous martyrdom. "I know I'm being a terrible friend/wife, but I'm being an awesome mommy." They're proud to be covered in their children's bodily excretions, and they're proud to neglect their friends, their extended family, their husbands/partners, even their own physical and mental well being... all for baby. The world revolves around the baby in a quasi-religious fashion…

Sometimes it's difficult when an individual makes their personal business extremely public. I think that's what compels some people to intervene; they feel that by observing and doing nothing then they are complicit in and supportive of the situation, whether they approve of it or not. I reads to me as a resistance of the bystander effect. However, when the situation is dangerous and the consequences can be deadly, I don't think it's White Knighting. Perhaps that type of situation should be call…

Yeah, that one pissed me off. What's wrong with looking out for people? What's wrong with calling people out on disrespectful or abusive behavior? It's not Red Pill, it's not Blue Pill, it's wanting to live in a polite and civilized society. Calling someone a "dirty hosebag" is mean and crummy, but what if this hypothetical jerk is hitting his girlfriend in our hypothetical bar? (What if he's hitting his brother? His child?) Should we all just sit around awkwardly pretending we don't see? Verbal…

Submissive doesn't need to mean going unfulfilled or appearing as though you're unsure/uninterested/nervous. When he asks, "What do you want?" responding with "I don't know" or "Whatever you want" can be kind of a drag. You don't have to come up with some big scenario or have an exact fix on your sexual destination, but pulling him toward you, kissing him pointedly and responding with anything from "Please, I just need" to "Baby, I need you inside me" is going to make him feel like he's taking t…

I find it hard to believe that a man who hadn't done some sort of hard time would have scratchy prison gang tattoos. The girl in question is pretty freaking dumb, but even still, I would stay far far away from a guy with gang involvement; that doesn't just end when you get out of prison, and if you think it does, you're in a world of hurt. Gang involvement no doubt saved him from the worst physical and sexual abuses in prison... but if he's white (the author never mentioned his race/ethnic backg…

RPW allows men to offer opinions about what they find attractive in a prospective mate, whereas TRP generally gets incensed if a woman offers suggestions on how a man can make himself more attractive or appealing. Here, a fellow says, "Ladies, if you brush and floss your teeth, you'll keep your gorgeous smile," and the women agree that yes, a mouth full of healthy gums and clean teeth shows that a person cares about their health and appearance. But if a woman were to suggest the the exact same t…

My bad on the political examples. They're conservative American politicians that had their 15 minutes of fame/shame. While they had their supporters, by no means did they represent the majority of politically conservative Americans. They gained a lot of notoriety in the media for several month spans because they were so incredibly outspoken about certain relatively fringe-y perspectives, or their gross misconceptions about key governmental policies. (Christine O'Donnell, for example, made commen…

I think claiming to be a feminist is a lot like claiming to be a liberal or a conservative. Each is a huge ideological spectrum, and one label doesn't encompass all the different perspectives contained within. There are lots of crazy conservatives, lots of crazy liberals, lots of crazy feminists. Within these mass-classifications there are also lots of normal/sane people with mature, well thought-out ideas. It's just that the crazies are hungry for attention and scream far louder than the 'normi…

Submissiveness can be poisoned and twisted so easily, though. The submissiveness OP learned in her first major relationship sounds toxic and abusive. Maybe a better term is something between "sacrifice" and "give and take." You don't submit to your partner's will simply because he's powerful or he's the leader, that doesn't make for a healthy relationship. If a man wants someone who is duty-bound to be blindly obedient to him, he should start a cult and get some followers/brainwashed minions to …

A lot of "untouched" women are that way because they are very religious, and while the guaranteed seal of sexual freshness may be appealing to certain redpillers, it's likely that said woman has some really warped views about sexuality that she will never be able to shake. She may she sex as dirty or demeaning, or as something only for procreative purposes. She might not be open to exploring the sexual landscape with her partner beyond simple missionary or the most vanilla of experiences. She's …

Here's the thing. You're in grad school now. There won't be time for sex. There won't be time for sleep. There won't be time for anything other than your research and drinking coffee. I just finished my master's gauntlet, and it's hell on your interpersonal relationships. There's no time to spend with your family, or the best friends you've had for over a decade, and there's no time to meet new people... whether for sex, friendship, a relationship, or otherwise. This attitude that all children are in danger of being molested 24/7 and that all men are potential molesters seems to have cropped up in the past few years. I'm not sure it's a result of feminism, I think it might be that we're still wearing the "Stranger Danger" blinders of the 1980's. If I recall correctly, most children who are harmed in such a way are raped/molested/abused/kidnapped/murdered/etc by either their family members or close family friends. If OP had said, "Don't worry; I'm his da…

This alone is enough to tell every white-knight and feminist shit-bird to sod off Just know that one vindictive, batshit crazy woman with no regard for animal life does not represent all women. I mean, if a black guy killed your dog, it wouldn't taint your view of black guys in general. I've spent a number of years in animal rescue and I can tell you that normal people--regardless of their gender--don't kill, maim, abuse, neglect or throw away beloved pets. "I'm sure they've got your resume in a frame where they expected to put pictures of grandchildren." Ugh, no one should have to breed because their parents expect/demand grandchildren. It reads like a perpetual cycle of suffering: "My parents demanded I give them grandkids, and by god, I expect the same out of you lot. We have to keep this family line chugging along for reasons outside of our own knowing, whether we like it or not." People who don't want children make terrible parents.

I don't think a RPW is an oxymoron... but first things first: I don't speak for the ladies here, nor for the fellows of TRP. I just tend to find myself in the more polarized subreddits about gender and sexuality because I like interesting conversation. There seems to be a divide between RP men: those who would like a string of girlfriends and/or hookups, and those who would like to have a wife and/or a family. (Neither is wrong: some people desire monogamy, whereas other do not.) There seems to …

If you're not one for soul-searing eye contact or quick/stolen glances, you can eye flirt by changing the angle of your head ever so slightly. Pull your chin down about an inch or so, as if you were a horse and someone were subtly pulling on your reins to stop. You're bringing your nose down slightly and tucking your chin just a little... not enough to mash it up into your neck, though. Then look up through your eyelashes. Subtle smolder. How do you let a guy know you aren't down with casual sex…

Widows always seem to be forgotten or lumped in with the "she was an irresponsible skank" single mothers. Unfortunately, I know a number of military wives whose husbands died in combat. They're left raising their children alone through absolutely no fault of their own. They had found that one perfect person they wanted to settle down and spend the rest of their life with, but the sad fact is that warriors die. And yes, she will "always burn a candle" for her deceased husband. To her, he died a h…

Drop a line in about boyfriend/husband and they get the point. The ones who don't get the hint always piss me off. What part of "I am in a committed relationship until I or my partner die" do you not understand? I'm not worried about coming off as a bitch if I have to firmly reiterate to a fellow that I am indeed spoken for. If I have already told you I'm not on the market, your repeated attempts to pick me up are downright disrespectful and shady, and will be treated as such, homewrecker.

I find that some of the men over there seem to bristle very easily, and aren't open to dialogue with newcomers. If they want people to subscribe to and take their ideology seriously, these particular fellows might take it upon themselves to treat newbies with a bit more respect. If someone from outside the herd disagrees with a piece of advice or a certain assessment, they're not automatically a troll, and they're not by default an ignorant slut. Open and varied dialogue is what keeps any subred…

This doesn't seem to be an issue of gender or feminism so much as a wildly irresponsible university offering useless degrees at an exorbitant price to naive idealists who want to change the world. You can't even get a job teaching "Social Justice and Peace Studies" at most universities. It's a horrifically bad investment.

Any dumb fuck can inherit land or money to buy land. If some kind of limit were to ever be placed on who could vote and who could not, it seems like some sort of "Do you understand how the history of your country and how its government works?" test would be a better option. Kind of like a citizenship test, but for everybody.

Bodies just do things. It's like when the doctor hits your knee with the little hammer to test your patellar reflex. Vaginas, clitorises, prostates and penises tend to have minds of their own (ie random middle school boners) and they physically respond to vigorous stimulation whether it's consensual or not. They're just dumb organs, and we can't read much more into them on a psychosocial level than we would a pancreas or spleen.

I was on board with Self until he threw in this juicy hyperbole: the guard had abused a child himself, in particular by exposing my son to the spectacle of his father – who was guilty of nothing – being grilled by the police on the roadside as if he were engaged in a perverse activity. It was clearly an inconvenience, and yes, a certain loss of innocence for his young son. I would also categorize the situation as stressful and emotional for the boy, but it was not abuse. Sometimes the law reache…

To be fair, many of the kids who are now placed on the autism spectrum were simply labelled as mentally retarded back in the '70's and '80's. There were a number of children at my elementary school back in the '80's that fell under the catch-all label of "retarded." It's not like we called them that maliciously; the teachers always told us that we had to treat Student X nicely and with special care because s/he was "mentally retarded." Looking back now, those kids were clearly autistic.

Some women were chattel. So were some men, and some children. Many of the nineteenth-century proponents of women's rights were also abolitionists, so there was a great deal of overlap in terms of the social freedoms and rights that these people were propounding. But, I suppose, like modern feminism, there were schisms back in the nineteenth century as well, and abolitionists and suffragists did not always make for perfect allies. Sojourner Truth and Frederick Douglass both supported women's righ…

I agree with you, there's nothing wrong with feminism at its core. When the movement became visible in the nineteenth-century, it was about creating a voice for women, giving them rights and choices and increased personhood. Nineteenth-century women were tired of being chattel and second-class citizens. Feminism by the 1960's was a two-pronged approach, the first tenet of which extended the ideas of feminism's first wave, asserting that women could be more than wives and mothers, that they could…

I personally don't see the "Don't Be That Guy" campaign as shaming 'men for being men.' What I find offensive about it is that it equates male sexuality with rapist mentality, and plays into the belief that inside every man lurks a rapist waiting for a chance to defile someone. Only a small percentage of people in the world are dyed-in-the-wool rapists, and some billboard they saw on the way to the grocery store is not going to stop them from harming any unconscious individuals that they might h…

I'm just saying that you'll never get laid if you sit down next to a girl on a bus, take a big deep whiff of the air and say, "You smell good." It's weird. It doesn't scream high-value alpha male... it's more likely to project the image of someone who is a bit unbalanced and, uh, mentally 'different.'

I've had plenty of friendly and rewarding interactions with people who struck up conversations with me out of the blue. I felt comfortable with them because they opened their conversations with something other than, "My, what smooth skin you have" or "Girl, you got a nice ass." Using a line like "You smell great!" works well in a club or a bar because it's a bold but flattering ice-breaker, but it's creepy as fuck when someone springs it on you when you're sitting on the bus or shopping at the g…

In all seriousness, if some guy came up to me and 'cut me from the herd,' and then started leering at me and telling me I smelled nice, I wouldn't be thinking that he wanted sex or a date. I'd be thinking that he was some kind of Buffalo Bill type of serial killer who wants to cut off my nice-smellin' skin and wear it. Nothing shuts shit down faster than being coming off like a psychopath. I don't think everyone's out to rape me, but some fella who goes around sniffing the populace sets off my a…
