If you're criminally responsible for operating a motor vehicle then you're responsible for your own pussy when you're drunk.

Rape is violent and dehumanizing. That's different.

Am I the only person who feels like rape and sexual assault is becoming anything a woman can later object to?

[–]SoftHarem 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is a big part of why TRP exists in the first place. We have tens of thousands of men actively improving themselves to be more attractive to women so "regret rape" doesn't happen to them. That's how fucked up our legal system and social climate is. The worst thing a woman can do is accidentally fuck a beta.

[–]valkyrieone 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly!

[–]TRPsubmitter 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow, this is incredible.

confronting my roommate as to why she didn't try to stop it (she knew I was not interested in him as more than a friend) she seemed to get pissed and blamed it on me for getting drunk.

I saw kudos to her friend.

And I would like to xpost this to TRP. Just ridiculous example.

Gawd I hate the term "date rape". If you were raped, you were raped- it doesn't matter if you were on a date or not.

[–]porcellus_ultor 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I understand the necessity for the term, though. It's different than "jumped while walking through the park rape" or "home invasion rape," because when the term is used correctly, it implies that the victim knew and trusted their attacker well enough to go on a date... and then things turned out horribly wrong (and not ~wrong in the "I got drunk and feel funny about a dub-con encounter" because that's a sooper grey no-man's land that I don't want to touch with a ten foot pole). "Date rape" just has a catchier ring to it than "seemingly-trustworthy acquaintance rape."

[–]MrsStrom 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I get that. But no one uses it properly anymore. Plus "jumped while walking through the park rape" and "home invasion rape" account for a very small percent of rapes. The large majority of rape victims know their attackers. "Date rape" has lost its original meaning and now refers to all the dubious "did she have too much to drink pseudo-rapes".

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

thats how they bumped the rape numbers up to the ludicrous 1 in 4 stat they throw around now for the purposes of demonizing and destroying men further

[–]aManHasSaid 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It has value in educating women to a common type of rape. Just like "you are black out drunk rape," which some people think is blaming the victim while others think it's educational.

[–]little_red_ 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Wow. Willing to call rape when she can't even recall if she initiated sex or not. Granted the guy should be more careful and not stick his dick in crazy again, but this broad shouldn't get so tossed that she can't even recall an evening. Sounds like she needs AA and a higher set of morals.

[–]PhantomDream09 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

advocating for responsible behavior and holding yourself accountable for your actions? BP says you are a victim blamer. While I think you are pro- don't put yourself in a position to BE a victim.

Thank you for the comment, I appreciate your input!

The bruises are sketchy and the "didn't like it" portion could literally mean anything. She should get tested for STDs and talk to a counselor instead of going on reddit. And we shouldn't assume we know what happened because we don't.

[–]alphabetmod 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. And neither does she apparently. Really the only thing to do is get tested and move on.

[–]Lady_Motido 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Really the only thing to do is get tested and move on.

and hopefully with a lesson well learned.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

the lesson is never learned, i remember reading that women who get "raped" once are more likely to be raped again ( i dont remember where). i ave no doubt this is because they continue to engage in the same risky behaviors that got them in a bad situation in the first place, enabled by the ludicrous feminist chorus removing all responsibility from her for her actions

[–]Lady_Motido 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I would assume that once you've been "raped" regardless of whether it was a brutal parking lot rape or a date-like rape, your self esteem would undoubtedly receive quite a blow; some might react to it by avoiding the situation but others might think they deserved it and will go on to prove it again and again reproducing the situation providing a snowball effect of deteriorating self esteem.

[–]FleetingWishEndorsed Contributor 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I don't have enough facts to know if this was "rape" or not. If she really was "blacked out drunk", then yeah, it probably was. I have no way of knowing her state of awareness other than her own testimony.

[–]PhantomDream09 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

My feeling is that you shouldn't put yourself in such an uncontrolled state to begin with, even if you are with people you absolutely trust. Then again, I'm not really big on substance abuse. Having a good time is different then being flat out irresponsible. I think every adult (regardless of sex) needs to be responsible and know their limits.

Unfortunately, this view is automatically ushered in with 'victim blaming.' Good to know that thinking you should be aware and protect yourself is a totally unreasonable thought process. rolls eyes

Apologies, I'm not trying to chew you out, or belittle your opinion in any way. I just get frustrated because of a personal experience, and you can bet your britches I have never put myself in that kind of situation since. I think we need to focus less on victim-hood and more on being pro-active, diligent, smart, cautious, and looking out for ourselves and our friends.

I respect your opinion and appreciate your comment, regardless of whether or not I agree with what you said.

[–]FleetingWishEndorsed Contributor 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I agree with you, people need to be responsible for their own actions. If a guy gets killed by walking in the middle of the road, it's the driver's fault for not watching for him, but that doesn't stop us from teaching our kids to "not be idiots who walk in the middle of the road". We keep our kids from being victims by teaching them to stay out of situations where they could become one. I don't see how this situation is any different. Just as the guy in the road didn't want to be killed, the drunk girl didn't want to be raped, but now the opportunity is available for it to happen.

[–]PhantomDream09 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Great analogy. Thank you for your input!

I agree, survival instincts need to be instilled from an early age. A healthy amount of skepticism and caution would go a long way to preventing bad situations in my opinion.

once i took a bunch of acid and a guy had sex with me pretty much without my consent or participation while i looked at the pretty trails i was making behind his head with my fingers

to quote bob dylan again "you will not die, it is not poison"

Your attitude is the sign of an imbecile who cannot judge morality for herself* and cowtows down to a government to do it for her*.

The legality of a drug has no inherent bearing on it's morality. We should be the ultimate arbiters of what we put in our body, not washington D.C.

Or do you need a daddy figure to "approve" substances for you? Dork.

The thrust of my comment was that each individual decides what it means to be classy. Self-determination above blind obedience.
