This forum is great for venting and getting your story heard and acknowledged where you are not the bad guy. BUT, I dunno about long term support. I feel like you should keep looking for better therapists.

Hey man, I am sorry to hear what you are going through. Have you tried therapy?

First date. If they laugh, good for second date. If they make a face, leave. If they fart back, marry.

People always have to deal with that. Its like the saying with parenting “Days go slow but years go fast”. You have to hustle day to day, everyday and its fucking exhausting and you will get frustrated. But you look back at memories from a year ago or 2, you will only reminisce about the cute moments and giggle or cry. Its the same with marriage. I am not divorced yet, but really struggling in my marriage. Everytime something really hurts me, i send a message to myself on the phone, reminding my…

Its alright. You don’t need a kick in the butt for being a decent human being with feelings.

My mother did this to us and still does against my dad. But we realised long long ago what she did and now honestly we are disgusted by her behaviour. If she is making up shit, not only will they soon realise it but also find that behaviour annoying soon enough.

I agree. They do become someone else after a kid as their priorities change. Some actually make a conscious effort to maintain the same relationship with the husband, but a lot of them don’t even acknowledge your existence. To most, you become a person to share the work load and nothing else.

This answer is the best one. I agree with it a 100%. I get angry all the time at my stbx, but at the end of the day it’s my fault and my choice. I saw the red flags, but i was too scared no one else would love me cuz i was brought up with the mentality that i am not worthy enough to be loved. I went ahead and had a kid because I didn’t want to upset her, even though i knew our relationship would become a worse disaster after the kid. I put her happiness above mine. Lesson learnt, stand up for yo…

Hmm i would be livid if that happens to me down the line. Sometimes i am so inclined to agree with masculinity influencers when they say, dont cook and clean and do everything and expect her to be attracted to you! I know its probably not true, but some situations just make it seem like there might some truth in it.

Without the cheating part, would you have left still?

I will. I am just in between jobs now and we are not sorted in our visas yet. So if we separate now there is a chance that one of us may not always be able to stay in the same country. Just waiting for our residency, after that it’s certainly all over.

Its a tough situation. I am in your shoes right now, but my wife also works but doesn’t do anything else. I do all the cooking and cleaning and paying bills and everything else around the house. We have equally stressful jobs however she acts as if she doesn’t work the world will stop. She makes a mess around the house, doesn’t put a single thing back after she uses it, leaves any spills to dry and catch fungus. We have sex about twice a month, obviously only when she wants it. No favours done f…

Good. I have made that mistake. Dont get me wrong, i love my son to death, but if i were to go back, i wouldn’t put him through an inevitable parents separation down the line. That poor thing doesn’t deserve that.

But pls dont take it as an advice to have kids. Even a very stable marriage can crumble after kid/s but an already shaky one will almost certainly drain your life force on a daily basis and make it extremely difficult to get a divorce as well

Could i ask what happened that you fell out of love?

The traditional sense of marriage doesn’t work anymore. The law always has tilted in support of the wife, which was started with good intentions when they had lesser opportunities in life but hasn’t been updated since it seems like. Whereas the duties of a husband and fathers have changed drastically. I was just reading an article how millennial dads spend 3x time with kids compared to previous generations and only 97% of fathers are involved in parenting on equal basis. But the law, its still s…

I am really done with being made the bad guy. I have a tendency to feel guilty as is, my mother did that to me all my childhood, made me feel like a terrible person and responsible for her happiness or the lack of it. Its like living that again.

Hey, thanks for sharing. I hope you find your companion soon and i hope more that you will soon see your kids as well. No one should be taken away the privilege to see their own kids. M so sorry to hear that.

Sorry to spoil the mood. Wanted to take my son to see farm animals setup in town. Stbx reminded me how all i did for mothers day was wish her and give her a kiss. Then made a scene later about how i just sit around and do nothing while she had to clean on mothers day (she doesn’t. She gets in a cleaning “zone” once a month and complains about how messy it is) most of the days i clean and hold the fort with absolutely no support from her. I do the laundry, load the dishes, run the vacuum, take th…
