My dad is a very emotional man. He cries during sad movies or when he thinks too hard about how much he loves his kids. He gets frustrated, then walks away to cool off. He is excited about so many things in life. And he has been a wonderful father and role model for my siblings and me. I hope you don't worry too much about being too emotional. Men who feel and express the full breadth of human emotion are a gift to the world. 💚

That's...a wild ride to happen in such a short time when you're that young. I hope other people your age see this.

There is not a ton you can do. It sounds like you aren't living with him, which means less interaction. If you're a woman, that makes it even harder, as he is less likely to listen to you. Try to be there for him and assist in emotional processing, encourage his interests, help him slowly expand his world (which may be small right now), and ask him to join you in new experiences. It is ultimately up to him to change.

Just watched this playlist and some of your other videos. I agree with you on a lot of things, and what I disagree with is still fascinating! I immediately clocked you and exclaimed out loud (apologies to my dog who was in the room) when you did the Orthodox sign of the cross, as I am Roman Catholic 💚 It's pretty cool to see someone with similar theological views as me talk about mens rights activism and redpill-related ideologies without agreeing with them. Even if you get a partner right now, they don't have to live with you and be in your head 24/7/365. YOU do. What are ways you can make that experience better for you?

You staying with him will not help him. You are in some amount of danger given his reckless driving and throwing things. It always escalates eventually. You know you need to leave. Don't talk to him about it first, he'll either wallow and try to get you to pity him, or he'll threaten you to get you to stay. This is a tale as old as time. Collect your important documents in secret, make a go bag, make a plan to stay with family or a friend, and leave when he's at work or otherwise out of the hous…

I recommend dissecting how you can define "excuse" and "explanation" differently. Example: a toddler can hit another child when they want a toy. The explanation is they are young and therefore impulsive and don't yet have a good script for asking for things. Hitting is developmentally normal. However, that is not an excuse. The behavior is still wrong and should still be corrected by an adult. Edit: also, change takes time. Most people don't leave the redpill overnight.

I wonder if the reason why he sees you as "one of the good ones" is because you aren't a woman to him, you are still a child to him.

Both you and your 18 year old brother openly loving and supporting your younger siblings will prevent them from seeing redpill as a solution to personal emotional problems. They'll also know what good, loving friends look like with your example. I am the oldest of five, and I understand the ferocity of love one can have for younger siblings. My heart goes out to you.

I wonder based on this post and your comments here if you're simply aromantic and not that sexually interested, and you've felt a heteronormative sexual pressure in your environment as the driving force for your desire for a mate. My(F) husband's looks don't correlate with what is considered conventionally attractive, but we're both satisfied with our sex life last I checked in. I haven't been attracted to that many people over the course of my life, so we kinda got lucky finding each other. I'm…

I understand. It's so frustrating. I(F) do my little part in my little community as someone who is fairly non-gender conforming and has male friends. But there is only so much I can do. I feel like every time I make a safe space for one man there are hundreds of spaces in his life that psychologically beat him back into "his place". I can't do this alone. I'm so tired. Men need to help men. I have a lovely group of friends who regularly hug, say "I love you" to each other, and work through their…

Do you realize how intelligent and experienced in life you have to be to mentally get to these kinds of doubts about yourself? Inexperienced, dumb, and unworldly people don't think of these problems. I'm smiling as I write this. You're an amazing woman. There are so many reasons why your partner is with you. So, was getting into a relationship with my partner my 100% choice, or maybe I was trying to convince myself that I didn't want a rich guy because I wouldn't have a chance anyway (sour grape…

Miscarriages are being treated as crimes now. I'm not trying to be ornery or anything, but I've not heard of a case where this is actually happening due to Roe v Wade being overturned. There's concerns and speculation, but nobody who has said this statement in the present tense online or irl has given an example or this happening after it being overturned (or even before Roe v Wade, honestly). Does anybody have a link or something?

Seems like it makes sense to me. There are other beliefs at play that lead to someone believing otherwise. I suspect they aren't acknowledged in the responses you got because to acknowledge them means that they are not solidly rooted in logic, and they don't want to see themselves as illogical.

I'm an autistic woman. My husband has cPTSD from an abusive and neglectful household. So we're both really weird people, to say the least. Our shared lack of romantic and sexual experience wasn't an issue for either of us. We took it slow, and exploring our sexuality together ended up being a lovely experience. Technically, it's an ongoing process throughout our life, ha.

I don't think I've ever seen the "fat dude with skinny wife/girlfriend" outside of celebrity couples. I have entered the chat, lol. Perhaps there aren't many of us? I'm not sure. There may be statistics on that, but one would have to really scrutinize the source and methods. I don't really care about my husband's fat besides generalized concern for his health. Based on your post and comment history, you refuse to believe any men when they say they are average to low according to conventional beauty standards and have dated OR believe any women when they say their attraction doesn't perscribe to conventional beauty standards (i.e. their preferences are technically all "5/10s"). Ok, cool. A lot of men I know (but tend to not be friends with, funny how that works) broaden the types of behaviors in women thst they think are flirtatious. I wanted to make sure to address that in case you had a broadened definition.

2 My mom is naturally a very friendly person who laughs often. Many people interprit that to be flirtatious. She is very socially aware in general, so she is able to identify when men are interpriting her behavior as flirtatious and make herself clear that she is happily married (though some people don't listen and push the subject...). Keeping herself from being friendly to people and not look happy in public would be sacrificing a lot of who she is. My dad is aware of all this. So it isn't an …

This is a good response, thank you. These kinds of posts and the replies they tend to get are disheartening. My only issue is in your last quote, where it seems to support the RP tendency to see sexual/romantic love as necessary, when I would argue that love in general is necessary while sexual/romantic love is a deep seated want, not a need. That is where people outside RP differ, not that love in general isn't necessary, that's ludicrous.

I(F) don't care. Got a husband who is average. Began a committed relationship long before I saw how big it was. I am far more concerned with who he is in his brain, that's what I fell in love with in the first place. A friend a while back was dating a guy who had one far above average. She found it painful. Pretty sure they're not together anymore... Some care, some don't. It's the 21st century, women will tell you what they want physically.

Oh! You're the dude! Nice going, man! I'm glad to hear an update on how you're doing. Before, you kinda just looked like another dot on the hump of the bellcurve of human appearance. Not bad. Better looking now? Probably. But then again, I'm not into high school seniors so I suppose I'm biased.

Here is the responses to the comments I've received. This is speaking more to the crowd than to just those individuals. I was wondering how to word this, so I screenshotted the comments and sent them to my husband. Here is his take. If it matters, his perspective is growing up below the poverty line and is no longer. The brackets are my additions: The issue with trying to make systematic changes is that not everyone is suited to working at that level. Sure, working on a systematic level will aff…

My(F) 2 cents: I don't give a shit who has it harder. Everyone goes through difficult things. This kind of comparison reminds me of the classism I have observed in peers over the years. I first went to a private school where everyone was richer than me. They made fun of poor kids and...disliked the "free government handouts". Then I went to a poor high school with lots of kids hovering either side of the poverty line. They would think that rich kids had zero problems in their lives and went thro…

I'm a bit late to this convo, but I hope you will read this. I feel like I get what's going on here! It's an issue that my brothers and I have between us and our parents. Our parents have a wide range of people they are attracted to, perhaps 85%+ of the opposite sex (I am giving a low estimate). My brothers and I range from 5% to 60% of people of the opposite sex (all of us happen to be heterosexual). Based off of all your comments on this thread, it does look like you struggle with pride. The flip side to pride is self hatred. The most prideful people I know in my own life have the lowest lows when they come down from that pride. No matter how smart you are and how much you study something, there is always more to know. That is such a beautiful thing, don't you think? You can spend decades learning about something and still discover things new to you! You can even learn new ideas and perspec…

I put knowledge gained by social interaction in the "street smarts" or experiential knowledge category. There is valuable knowledge and perspectives to be gained outside of books. Don't get me wrong, my special interest is botany, and I read textbooks, field guides, and scientific journal articles on google scholar for fun. I have a TON of book knowledge on the subject. Have you read any of the posts there or are you assuming it is feminist? Men, at least in the cultural West, tend to not have social relationships of any kind where they can be vulnerable and feel truly loved. Romantic partners are often the only outlet. This is changing, but in the meantime there are so many men desparate to be loved, to be the Beloved. I am a woman in a friend group of men. We have that close platonic friendship. Even those of us who don't have a partner and still want one have most of that emotional gap filled. I hope to see more friend groups lik…

A friend(F) of mine is more sensitive down there, and had a partner who was 6 inches. They tried, but couldn't go very long without her having to stop due to pain. This is surprisingly common, but women who struggle with this tend to be too embarrassed to talk about it.

Am woman. It's fine. If I were moving in, I would wait until I knew the roommates better. Honestly, most young people in the U.S. (my country) don't have a choice about their living situation right now. Note: I would look at the dude's relationship with the roommates. Cordial or outright friendly relationships with the roommates is of course good. If he has bad roommates, being as respectful as possible and not stooping low to get back is what I would look for.

Feminism is necessary and good. As with any ideology or movement, we need to reduce the times where it is twisted by people to get what they want.

General rule of thumb: behaviors that make a good friend are also what makes a good partner. Then romantic and sexual interest follow sometimes. Source: am female, had only one partner in my life who was a friend who is now my husband, I had/have other male platonic friendships. Do you want a monogamous, long term partner?
/r/ExRedPill13/04/22 06:17 PM

Depends on the self and the partner. There are too many factors to know for sure what is best for a person, so you have to kind of assess periodically as you go through life.

Looks are usually the first step, yes. They can even be the first step in platonic relationships. Humans are biased towards what is considered beautiful by our species and culture.
