Depends on the story, depends on the guy and the relationship I have with him. I would want to know why the man who wanted to hear the accused assailants side didn't believe the woman. Why does he need the story verified by a man?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 06:25 PM

No, I probably wouldn't. I would have to hear the story and would want to speak to the women (past and present) in his life. Especially the woman who accused him. But at that point the juice probably isn't worth the squeeze. Regarding your other question, it would depend on the degree to which he believed such a thing and why.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 03:14 PM

People who are innocent can be accused without being found guilty. but people who ARE guilty can also be accused without being found guilty. Happens all the time.

Alimony is rarely awarded. Child support is often skirted. Houses still require payments. Sources? I'll show you mine if you show me yours.

Mods, we gonna let this dude call women 'house bitch'? Honestly?

Kind of like how the wife and mom can't make up the time she was absent from the job market. Now she has no strong foundation to get a job that pays worth a damn to help fund her and her children's lives. I'm not saying they're not sacrificing. It's a different sacrifice. My husband has sacrificed time with his kids in order to build a career to support us. I watched my mom do the same, and our relationship is incredibly strong. So if you're genuinely putting in the effort outside of work to spe…

You're the one who acted morally superior when I asked if you also expect to get hired for jobs you never applied for. Proving once again that if you don't like a question you've been asked or an answer you've been given, you will sulk, act morally superior, and find someone else to copy and paste the same tired response to with the HOPE that you'll get the pat on the back you're looking for.

Compensated by getting more dedicated time with his kids through shared custody.

Yes I am. And what a classic move you've made- when in doubt of how to answer, always attempt to act morally superior. Edit: I'm also not the one who said that I wouldn't care if a woman hung out with me as long as she had big titties and fucked me every day.

I think exposure therapy can work to an extent (no, it's not going to change people's sexuality from gay to straight or vice versa, and it shouldn't be used in such a way). But if someone is having trouble having sex with their partner because their body has changed due to having babies, illness, disability, etc., climaxing to pornography involving people with similar bodies/traits can help carve some new neural pathways associating those particular body types with arousal.

So if my husband works 40 hours a week and earns 40k, and I work 40 hours a week and earn 80k, he should have to do DOUBLE the domestic work that I do to 'compensate'?

I did. You said collective action, I said "coordinate, create clubs and groups and support each other". What part of that isn't collective? Collective action starts somewhere. But if you don't want to be a part of the change, then why do you think people should listen to you bitch, moan, and complain? Also, how do men get to puff up their chests and tout around this dusty title of 'provider and protector' if you're unwilling to 'throw yourself on the sword'?

Ask any "6" or below woman and you will get 100 stories about being treated like trash by men just because said dude didn't find them attractive enough. So I disagree heartily and restate my point- the more attractive a woman is, the better a man will treat her. This is nOt AlL mEn obviously. But I have seen this time and time again. Edit: also, women were not raised on night in shining armor tropes, we were influenced far more deeply by the mantra, "he hurt you/was mean, therefore he must like …

What y'all really need is for your gay brethren to step up and start complimenting straight men. Genuine compliments from someone who thinks you're hot and would probably bang you if given the option. Edit: perhaps if straight men got the ball rolling and started complimenting gay men.

My opinion is based on my experiences. But if you'd like to feel morally superior because you "don't do that shit", have at it! Men have complimented my graphic t shirts, my high heels, etc. and it tends to feel genuine. Hell, a customer came up to me at my job, told me he thought I was very beautiful, I thanked him and then he walked out with his coffee. That also felt genuine. What doesn't feel genuine is when someone says, "oh you're so beautiful..." And then hangs around like he's waiting fo…

No, I agree with them. When men compliment, it's often like they're fishing. When women/children compliment, they're giving a gift. I'd rather receive a gift than a lure.

I've gotten compliments from men about my graphic t shirts, heels, earrings, etc. it always makes me feel good. It's the expectant compliments like, "you're so beautiful..." that creep us out.

So she did something within a year of dating him, she doesn't like it, doesn't do it again. You want to try the same sex act with her, an act she didn't like but is willing to trying eventually with you, but are unwilling to wait longer in order to earn her trust, and allow her to relax into her sexuality with you?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 02:51 PM
5

I don't really disagree with this if both people are reasonable (besides the comment about her not being attracted to you). But the trust these sex acts requires can take YEARS to build. are you willing to wait half a decade, maybe more to build the trust that it takes for some women to try (or try again) these acts?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 02:42 PM

Those relationships usually didn't start out lacking sex. Sex usually drops off because of unmet needs, unaddressed resentment, hormonal/health issues, and the introduction of kids along with the chaos that creates.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 01:40 PM

What is the position, then? Because it always sounds like men want to be the only person said woman has found sexually attractive.

You say this like women don't work. The majority of women work. The burden of finances is on both parties. Also, a family (especially with children) needs money to survive. A spouse stressing about finances is not equal to a dude complaining that his wifes' breasts aren't perky anymore because she EBF their child for a year.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 06:51 PM
1

I agree, I think not wanting to 'ruin' their body is often cited as one of the reasons women don't want to have kids. But from my own experience and what I've learned from other women, it's a fear of no longer being attractive to your male partner. Men can be incredibly judgmental and immature about women's bodies and often lament about the state of their wives' post-baby figures.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 03:41 PM
3

Yeah, probably. But it's not as much 'work' as creating and maintaining a loving, mutually satisfying romantic relationship.

She said SHE enjoys cooking. You slapped your big dumb logo on it, 'women often enjoy cooking!' Ok, so if a woman doesn't enjoy cooking and a man doesn't enjoy cooking... who does the cooking? The dog?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 12:12 PM
16

If they're saying that, then they probably find dating women to be more work than it's worth. Or they want to 'date', but don't want to put the work into dating. So they just want someone to have sex with.

10

I would have left after 'alright, nice easy access'. Yuck. Also, terrifying.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/26 01:36 PM

That's absolutely true, scarcity does change perceived value. But, just as I don't know what it's like to be a man with a man's drive and a man's brain, you don't know what it's like to be a woman. Our drives are different, our hormones are vastly different, our experiences and seasons of life are different. But those things are generally poo-pooed by men no matter how loud and often women yell them from the rooftops. > sex, intimacy, desire, family, and romantic connection are extremely powerfu…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/26 12:15 AM

It matters, absolutely. I'm not saying it doesn't. But it's not valued in the same way by we women than it would be to you men if you had the same sort of benefits/access. Dating, relationships, and sex are far different for women, so it's valued in different ways and sometimes less (and sometimes more). This rarely aligns with the values that men put on it, so that's where a lot of the disconnect comes from. I don't disagree but if you are trying to form relationships and community with other m…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/26 08:54 PM

unfortunate. But if that really is the case, then.... they have no right to bitch about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/26 08:40 PM

I think women, on average, have more access to dating and sex. The value women place on those things is often less than the value men place on them, so I think there is a disconnect when those two topics are being discussed. As far as emotional support, social sympathy, validation, and relationship opportunities... When you're a woman, most of these things are coming from family and friends. Women spend more time building and maintaining platonic relationships, socializing in their communities, …
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/26 07:28 PM

Oh men love it. They love feeling that women are dependent on them so they can provide and protect and be the one to give her everything she wants. Just as long as it's the right woman. Being wanted just for the fact that you have a wet hole and soft parts is not good or flattering in any way.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 12:11 PM

So... if you try something with a partner and you REALLY don't like it. Like... REALLY. Anal pegging, for example. But you tried it, you gave it a good shot! So your next partner and the partner after that and after that should be able to peg you? You know, in the name of our overlord 'consistency'.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/26 12:51 PM

It's astonishing to me how men think that all women have a 'kinky dial' that can simply be turned up or down depending on how quickly her pussy gets wet for some dude. Not that her sexual preferences have changed, her body has changed, her libido has changed, she experimented with something a few times and learned she doesn't like it, she tried something that she used to like and found that she no longer does, maybe she experienced trauma, maybe she overcame trauma, and on and on and on.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/26 12:46 PM

What if she did certain sex acts earlier in her life because she felt insecurely attached to her SO and felt like she needed to perform these sex acts in order to keep him? Would you still say you wish you had met her earlier? When she was insecure and doing things in bed that she didn't really like in order to please other people?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/26 12:42 PM

You're swimming in the shallow end of a very dark pool, brother. Do you think men who have had sex with 47 women in their past are disgusting and should be shunned by women for have so many sexual partners?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/26 12:36 PM
2

And that's youre opinion. But you're arguing with women that being desired for being a wet hole or a serious of erotic parts is somehow a compliment; listen to the people telling you: IT'S NOT.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/26 12:17 PM
1

I think that's the main problem women have with men as well. Sooo many women feel that men don't want to emotionally connect, to listen to them or learn about them or be a true partner. Men desire women for their utility (sex, procreation, childcare, career support, home/life management, socializing, etc).
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/26 10:07 PM
1

That's good to hear. I hope it works out in the favor of your desired relationship style. The only thing I could say would be to talk to both fathers AND mothers in the poly community, because you might get different answers as to how much free time they have available and how easy or difficult it is to make relationships work with other partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/26 12:45 PM

Do you think many of your other relationships will dissolve after you have children? Simply because of the time commitment towards properly raising children?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/26 10:23 PM

That's why I said Liver. Oysters. You can eat eggs, those have iron. Pair it with some bell peppers, increases bioavailability. Cut out caffeine, your iron from plants will absorb better. If you don't get any iron, you'll die. If you don't get any sex, you'll become insufferable but you'll live.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 10:03 PM

I mean, yeah. That's the point. Our needs are very basic. We do have a need for socialization, much of which includes intimacy in all its forms and fashions. But intimacy is not sexual. Sexual intimacy is sexual. Also, wanting sex doesn't mean that it doesn't have value. You can place sex at the top of your list, forgoing all other things to get it. But OP (of this thread) is right, that calling sex a 'need' morally justifies all sorts of bad behavior in order to get it (I mean, it doesn't reall…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 09:19 PM

That's totally fair if you think I'm being pedantic, I definitely sound nitpicky trying to hammer this point home. But Since language is the only means we have of communicating with one another (for the most part), we should try to be both precise and thoughtful in the words that we use. That's all.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 08:08 PM

You could have also eaten watermelon, spinach, kale, liver, oysters, lentils, etc. in fact you probably needed iron from both meat AND plant sources. But you wanted the burger/steak because it was the most delicious, maybe the easiest to cook, maybe the burger was cheaper, etc. etc. It's fine that you disagree on the distinction, or the importance of distinction. But distinctions exist for a reason, nuance exists for a reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 02:59 PM

It's not a gotcha, it's an important distinction. If sex is a need in a relationship, is it considered morally reprehensible to cheat on your pregnant wife who hasn't wanted to have sex in 4 months and won't be able to have sex for many months still? Why is it morally reprehensible to cheat on your husband who has prostate cancer? Or if your wife gets old, has vaginal atrophy, and can no longer have sex? Like I said, the distinction is important. It doesn't mean that wanting sex in your long-ter…

God, how kind and thoughtful of you to exclude everyone else.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 12:32 PM

Honestly I agree with her. And this is such a classic case of HOW you say something being as important or even moreso than what you say. It reframes the object of your desire. If you need something, it's a non-negotiable. I need food, water, air, shelter, positive socialization of some kind. If you want something, you have the opportunity to examine why you want it and why it's so important. I think reframing a 'need' into a 'want' allows for more introspection.

Even if you're pro-life, abortion isn't a sex-specific "evil". Men push for, pay for, even force abortions. Male doctors preform them. Come to whatever conclusions you want about abortion, but don't pretend it's a sex-specific phenomenon because it isn't.

Are you trying to say that because men are hornier in general that women should accept the difference in effort between them and a woman he finds much hotter than them? But men should not accept the difference in attraction from a woman between themselves and a "Chad"?

People get away with child abuse all the time. Probably as much as they get away with abuse in the military. We hardly protect kids and teens more than we did 50 years ago. Look at Larry Nassar for christ's sake. Women are far more often the primary caregiver, so there are more opportunities for abuse. If moms are with the kids 75% of the time and dads 25% of the time, mom is going to have more opportunities for negative interaction. Fathers are also responsible overwhelmingly for severe violenc…

If y'all think attraction doesn't wax and wane, then why do women/men who are married lose attraction during different seasons of their marriage?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/26 01:26 AM

That's not true, though. The best way I heard it said was something like, "I didn't find him attractive until I did". Many women don't automatically find men attractive. There are many good looking men I see that I don't find attractive at all. Attraction happens during an interaction or multiple interactions.

Most men can turn into violent offenders. look at the military, or war crimes committed against civilians. The level of sexual assault committed against fellow women in arms or civilians in times of war would tell you that everyday men with wives/girlfriends, families, or are just generally regular people in everyday life are VERY capable of turning violent.

> because you know that they're actually capable of enacting change. See, I don't think they are anymore. Women have seen and experienced life out from under the thumb of men. They're not going back en masse- perhaps a trickle, but the veil has been lifted. Rights can be taken (abortion, voting, etc), but taking away rights wont make your women docile and acquiesce to your "new" (old) world order. I predict quite the opposite, actually.

>It'd be good for society if most single, working women became mothers instead. How exactly is that good for women, though? you said, "humans need meaning, purpose, belonging, identity, fulfillment, etc. Humans can endure hell and total material deprivations provided they have those needs met." Women who don't want children are going to be mentally wrecked if they have them. Since far fewer women are having kids now that they don't have to, how is it better for them to have babies?

It's really not. You don't need sex to have an intimate marriage, you DO need money to live life in this world. Also, a marriage is the legal merging and binding of assets. Money made by one is the property of the other as well. Legally, you are not required to give lifelong access to sex. So, under your rule, he would be fucked. Yes?

No. People divorce for all sorts of valid reasons that don't include infidelity or physical abuse. In your scenario, what if one person decides they no longer want to engage in sex or any sort of sexual intimacy but do not condone the other person having sex with anyone else? No one is being beaten. No one is allowed to cheat. In your scenario, that doesn't sound like grounds for an even split if one person decides to divorce.

Sex selective abortions are mostly about patriarchal traditions. Neat perspective, but you didn't answer my question.

I read so many comments like this and honestly wonder: why do men complain about not getting dates, laid, married, chosen, etc. but they speak as though they despise, resent, and look down on women?

She works(albeit not very hard hehe!). What does this mean?

4 hours of work a DAY is what I spend on cooking, cleaning, laundry, dishes, and life admin for the fam. Plus 2-2.5 hours 4 days a week of commute for the kid (not to work, just for the kids school). 4 hours a week is like... 48 extra minutes of work each day. Do you think all of the added childcare, cooking, cleaning, and life admin takes only 48 minutes per day? Edit: And to add- yes, I work. I work 25hrs a week and get our benefits, he works 47.25 hours a week. I also do freelance work as doe…

What are women doing, exactly?

That's what more and more women are doing now and it's causing men to lose their minds.

Agreed. It's also funny how the men slink off when comments like this come up.

Single women aren't having sex nearly as much as you think. And there is no benefit for a woman to have sex with a stranger or acquaintance. Women who decenter men 'get sex' by finding someone to have sex with. Men who decenter women do the same. It's harder for men because women don't want sex as much as men do. My suggestion is to decenter women and embrace masturbation as many women have done. You don't need to get an orgasm from anyone but yourself.

Why do you assume they're having sex?

That's... A really frightening take. May no one in power share your views. So, are you saying that home confinement is a form of protection? You didn't mention any other atrocities. Rape, honor killings, barring women from education. Are those a form of protection too?

Socialization. Which is just as powerful as natural instinct, but is far less cited as the reason humans behave in specific ways. Because if behavior is socialized, it can be socialized in a different direction to the benefit or detriment of various parties. If behavior is socialized, it cannot be justified as 'the way things are'. And if, as you declare, men protecting women is a biological instinct, then why are women treated so horribly in different countries and cultures? (I'll exclude the h…

Anecdotally, take a look at all of the men having affairs during pregnancy and postpartum. Anecdotally, look at the all of the posts about men shaming their woman's post-baby weight gain, sagging breasts, loose skin, etc. And I'm assuming that your comment about your wife's c-section scar was said to get a reaction and emphasize your point. But If not, you may want to ask her how SHE feels about it. Because it's depressing that the remnants of a wound that involved cutting through seven layers o…

I would argue that men don't have an instinct to protect all women. It's an instinct to protect the people who are in our tribe, and a socialized instinct at that (that doesn't make it any less powerful). And what do you mean care for? Care for in what way? Are you protecting the women in your life on a daily basis? Or does this Care not have anything to do with protection and you we're just throwing this personal anecdote on at the end?

Why do you think that 40+ women only want sex and no relationship?

The two experiences are both rejection, but they are not the same. That's true. I see you doing the same thing with your attempt to equate a man's experience of sex with a woman's. The two are not equal at all. In terms of risk, pleasure, and social fallout.

Do you require her to 'service you' whenever this happens? I'm guessing that's where her irritation comes from. Or perhaps you don't require her, but she feels indirectly pressured to service you when all she wanted was non-sexual intimacy. Just a guess. If she actually is your wife, you might want to analyze why she gets upset during what is supposed to be an intimate moment between the two of you.
