I would argue that true confidence comes when you free yourself of the inconsequential opinions of others.

I mean, if your self-worth is defined by the opinions of the people around you then yeah, sure.

It's more about confidence built through actual self esteem rather than looking better. I mean, it helps, but people are attracted to confidence more than anything. Edit: this subreddit sure has a lot of people that blame others for their lack of self-awareness. "Let's blame society for my loneliness, not look inward to my own issues that need sorting out." Women threw themselves at me after I realized I was the problem, not society.

This logic doesn't track from the get go. For whom is it better? We all focus on the rights of others but forget that we are all oppressed proletariat under the accumulated wealth and power of the ultra wealthy. Society doesn't benefit if the power structure isn't equitable.

The problem I see in all these posts on every forum is that people tend to forget that men and women are both people and tend to want sex AND want to settle down with someone they trust. My fiancee and I have been with several people before, and between the time that we first hooked up physically 4 years ago and finally decided to be together two years ago. Neither of us want children, so our relationship is based on knowing each other for 9 years total and being best friends. Jealousy of her pa…

I hear that. I hope you feel better man. It's easy to get trapped in our own thoughts and feel that our perspective is "special" in the sense that we are alone. We're all people who deserve compassion. You have a great night bro.

I want to encourage inner growth. Everyone deserves to love and be loved, but you gotta love yourself before you can love or be loved by others. That means being compassionate in both directions and being honest. As soon as I realized that my best friend was willing to give "us" a shot I broke up with the woman I was with at the time. No hesitation. I hurt her, but there was no kidding myself into pretending to have a connection like the one I finally have. I had to be willing to embrace change …

Work on yourself. If you have standards that are too high then just simply be and let life happen. Garner some friendships, live some life, and experience some things. Getting caught up on that "special feeling" is the wrong way to go about it in my opinion. I met my fiancee 9 years ago. We have been together for 3. We both have had several relationships between then and 3 years ago. It took knowing our respective selves in order to have a mutual trust and understanding. It's still work, but it'…

Usually a sign of a deeper issue whether it's in the relationship or with the person who cheats. It's not about the sex, it's about trust. If she breaks my trust for some sex then it would have been better for her to share her feelings and then we discuss being equally important in our expectations of our relationship and how we can move forward, while preserving the relationship, and having our respective needs met.

My brother passed on getting with a woman because he didn't want the pressure of taking the virginity of a 28 year old woman (he's 33.) I agree with his sentiment. I had the option to take a women's virginity when I was in college and I opted out because I remember how attached I was to the first person I ever slept with and knew I couldn't commit to that particular person. The woman that I plan to marry has slept with double with people I have and it's not my business past the gratitude I feel …

No shit. Thinking about it like a game will keep you from ever achieving it though, and that's a hard fact to swallow.

Communication. Fuck society and the pressure that comes from it. What do you want? What does she want? Utility is for logical deduction. If she cheats it means she didn't respect you and vice versa.

It's simple. You find someone who appreciates you for you and you trust won't betray you. I've known my fiancee for 9 years now, but only started dating two years ago. Garnering a relationship is a process that takes effort. Opting out altogether is fine, but putting yourself out there takes guts. Picking yourself up and trying again takes more.

I think it'll be mandated by law that you know a person for at least two years before you can date them, and two years of living together before marriage. I also think procreation should be granted with a qualification exam.

Stop thinking of women as from another planet. What helped me break my incel mindset is seeing them as "bros who happen to have vaginas." She and I met 9 years ago and became best friends 5 years ago. We only started dating officially last year.

My fiancee and I play pokemon and other games together and watch anime. If she genuinely likes you and shares common interests then being good looking is secondary, but that's also a two-way street. The right woman will accept you in all aspects, but call you on your shit and keep you honest, and if you care: vice versa.

The point is to become a balanced adult that a woman would be attracted to rather than chasing the idea of a romance. Women like men who like themselves and have shit going on other than a fixation on any particular thing.

I found the best woman for me. Is she the most physically attractive woman in existence? No. Is she my best friend who has my back and makes me feel loved? That's a Texas sized ten-four.
