It is relevant. She isn't saying that we're approached by people we aren't attracted to rather than people we are - she's talking about the nature of the approach. A polite and respectful approach when we are not actively busy is a nice experience, regardless of the person approaching! However, a sleazy and/or rude approach is horrible, even if the man is the most handsome man alive. No one wants to be catcalled, harassed, etc. No matter what, that's horrible. It makes us feel unsafe, uncomforta…

I work for the Church on a part time basis and am otherwise a homemaker, but used to be an engineer. I'd say your exact career has little to do with your femininity. The most important things are your attitude, personality, and general conduct. A rude and slobbish SAHM or secretary is nowhere near as feminine as an elegant and will turned-out bricklayer or binwoman.

Absolutely do not fake faith. As a devout Christian, if I found out my partner had lied to me about his beliefs just so he could date me, I'd be furious and I would leave him. To many of us religious ladies, it is vital that we are in equally yoked relationships. After all, it is literally a teaching in the Bible (2 Corinthians 6:14)! Being religious doesn't just mean we go to church on a Sunday morning. It is a core element of our lives in every way and we deserve honest partners who share the …

Worth remembering though that we're not trying to be better than other women, just the best versions of ourselves - a thing all ladies can achieve if focus is directed in the right ways!

My partner often praises me for my wisdom, a welcome symptom of my discernment in the Church. He loves that I take time to ensure any and all advice I give is well-placed and thoughtful, and whilst I am not always right, I do try to be as helpful as I can. But, part of this that most people ignore is that being a wise and helpful advisor is reliant on knowing when not to give advice just as much as knowing when it is welcome. Unsolicited advice, no matter how good, is rarely helpful and does not…

We met whilst we were both longterm volunteers for a first aid charity! We worked together for a year before we started dating as we both wanted to maintain professionalism and not run into anything too rashly. Because of our involvement in the charity, it meant that we both already knew we had aligning morals and priorities before we even got to know each other, which is a major part of vetting. Having that knowledge from the get-go made the decision to start dating much less of a leap of faith…

I'm reading a trio of lovely books published by Daunt which are collections of essays based on a single prompt - the first one I read was 'At The Pond: Swimming at the Ladies' Hampstead Pond' which was a gift from the Mr. Now I'm halfway through 'In The Garden' and have 'In The Kitchen' ready and waiting for me! I'm thoroughly enjoying the way that each essay is a stand-alone read, so I don't need to commit to remembering a whole novel when I've got everything else on my mind.

I try not to go into 'what if' territory if I can help it, since it only ever causes trouble. Though we have a few pretty standard hard boundaries (we are a monogamous, pro-life, Christian couple), we are fortunate enough to have an incredible open communication style. Because of that, any disagreements are caught and resolved in infancy, rather than growing unchecked until one of us needs to put a foot down. I'm sure there are things I'd refuse to follow him on, but because he makes decisions w…

I'm approaching this from a British perspective, but I think the individual right to vote is a powerful tool. We may surrender to our husbands in many respects, but we're still our own people with our own minds. And, if women have very little voting power, women's issues will have very low priority for the government. We must keep the right to vote so that parliamentarians care to try and make us vote for them. Plus, I'm not too sure what the suffrage movement was like in America, but here in Br…

Your chances of landing a high value man are not altered by having stretch marks - a very normal thing for a person to have. If a man thinks less of you because your body reflects the fact that you've physically grown bigger than you were as a baby, he is not high value.

Definitely! It's saved me from countless daft, rude, or just plain thoughtless utterances. Goodness knows if it weren't for my priest, I'd be a much less eloquent woman.

Another tip from my priest - always take a breath before you speak, whether you're about to say something good or bad. That extra second of time will fill whatever you're about to say so much more thought, or give you time to decide not to speak if that's the right choice. It's win/win!

I used to be the same, until I got some amazing advice from my priest. What he said to me was twofold. before I let myself say something unnecessary, I should: A) Ask myself if a cruel retort or snarky comment would do any good - yes it may feel good in the moment, but is a damaged relationship worth the catharsis? And B) Remember that my soul is not within whatever I am being defensive about. My MIL might have scathing words to say about my new tablecloth, but I shouldn't respond in kind becaus…

There is one huge green flag, that I don't feel we talk about enough on here, that my partner displayed in droves - even incredibly early on when we first started dating. All of his friends not only knew of me, but knew ABOUT me. Whenever I'd meet a friend of his for the first time, they'd know details about my life, my likes and dislikes, my hobbies, etc. It was obvious that my partner wasn't only advertising the fact that he was in a relationship, but he was borderline boastful about me! Furth…

I've just finished the audio book of the first volume after reading this suggestion! What a wonderful resource! Though I'm Anglican rather than Catholic, there are more than enough cross overs that I related thoroughly to the Message. Truly a lovely book. Thank you for the recommendation! I've already bought the second one in book form to read next.

Exactly my thoughts. My future husband was clear when we started dating that it is important to him that he marry a woman with a degree, but he didn't want a career-woman. A degree is, after all, a sign of cultivated intelligence, self-discipline, passion, and dedication towards a goal. All virtues that any high value man is interested in. Further, my partner wants the mother of his children to have a high level of education to encourage them to follow suit - a desire I share! After all, if only…

Bless you, you'll get there! It's a learning curve, that's for sure. I'm not much older than you, but spent my childhood at my mum's side doing housework so I hope I can help. For your Windows, try using screwed up (not folded) newspaper or undyed tissue paper to wipe them, rather than cloths or rags. Still use window cleaning spray or white vinegar, but barely any and work the paper in small circular motions until the window is completely dry. You should end up with clear, streak-free glass. As…

If you're following Doyle's wonderful advice, I presume that you've only made changes recently since she recommends not mentioning it for the first six months - not indefinitely. If that is the case, don't worry! Keep going just as you are, making changes and doing your best, and if your partner is worth his salt he will notice and validate you of his own accord. It may take him a little while to realise what is going on enough to specifically praise it, but any good partner will eventually noti…

My fiancé asked me if I wanted a dishwasher when we moved a few months ago. I said no because I saw how much of an inconvenience my mum found the one my dad gifted to her back in the early 2000s! There's a lid for every pot, as the saying goes, and you'll find your lid! Just remember that it's a two-way-street in more ways than just looks and finances. If you are yourself kind, loyal, charitable, honest, and cheerful you will find a woman who is similar. Rather than ingesting content that's full of insta models and troubled women, try seeking out better influences such as content created by homemakers, wives, mothers, etc. Also, if you're having trouble meeting women with the morals you'…

Yes. We're both devoutly Church of England Anglicans (to the extent that I'm a Verger and in discernment for ordination), and thus have the morals to come with it. Both sets of parents are still happily married and have been since they were young, and though I've been the victim of DV in a previous relationship the trauma of it is 99.9% resolved and the Mr knows how to avoid triggering that 0.1%. In my experience as a woman in a healthy, long term relationship, I'd say it's true that women tend to option-up when looking for a partner but untrue that most women will still be considering other men whilst committed. My partner is absolutely of a higher socioeconomic status than me, which is made even clearer by the fact we're British, and the class system here is highly defined and core to our culture. He is of a higher class than me. I also think he's stunningly good looking, but of course…

I listen to a lot of Christian bands such as Leeland and the Rend Collective, as well as secular music by musicians with Christian values such as Owl City/Sky Sailing (two projects by the same person). I find the positive messaging in the songs, as well as the clean and wholesome subjects within them, lift my spirits and put me in a happy mood. I especially like pop-rock and electronica, genres which have numerous Christian artists, as they're very boppy and keep me dancing as I go about my day!…

Fair enough that I have maybe been a bit vague, but giving a number of items simply wouldn't work - after all, a dressing gown and a pair of underwear both count as one item! He just needs to learn the 'two thirds full' rule rather than the 'as much as will fit' rule, else it'll end up costing him a few hundred pounds in the cost of a replacement machine.
/r/RedPillWomen14/04/21 02:05 PM

I do care more about my partner than my washing machine! That's exactly why I don't want to have to waste hundreds of pounds of his hard-earned money replacing it if it breaks prematurely, instead of leaving that money for him to use on nice things like his running club membership, or meals out now that restaurants are reopening where we are.

I'd love to, and it's what we used to do before we moved here, but so far we've had no luck finding genuinely homeless people who want meals, plus many of the stuff she gives us has to be reheated - not ideal for a person without access to microwaves. London has a massive issue with professional beggars, who obviously have absolutely no want nor need for food and make that perfectly clear when offered.

It's a nightmare isn't it! Though it sounds like such a blessed thing to complain about, it causes so many logistical issues and pettily it cuts when it seems like the food she surprises us with was chosen to directly replace what I make.

Most of her home cooking is able to be frozen, but unfortunately our central London flat has only two freezer drawers that are full of our own food. I managed to squeeze the six portions of crumble she gave us into the freezer, but there simply wasn't room for all of it, and no room for us to add any more freezer space.

It's adorable! I think it's such a wonderful little thing they do, and he loves getting those letters. They mean a lot to him and his mum, and is such a healthy custom between them. How wonderful! I've only been to Halifax a few times. I've family in Devon and adore it down there! We're in one of the central London boroughs these days, hence the lack of storage and inability to find someone who wants to accept the food. People are so odd down here, but we're learning!

It's a super tricky one because it's not the only thing he lets her still do for her. She send him weekly letters full of newspaper clippings that she thinks he'd like, and he has her as an active part of his life in many ways. Though, he's fairly good at not letting her be too intrusive outside of the crazy amounts of food she gives. No way! I'm from a village near Tadcaster!

Hahaha ahh you get me! I come from a northern military family and he's from rural bloody Oxfordshire, so you can imagine. I think I'll use that line about having the recipe, if I do have to talk to her myself about it. She definitely prides herself on her cooking and is a feeder, so I do think she feels threatened by the fact he loves my cooking.

Her and her MIL seem on good terms, but possibly! She and I share similarities in how we're from working-middle class backgrounds, whereas the paternal side of my partner's family is incredibly upper class. As class is such a huge thing here in England, entering into a family of a higher class is very stressful as you're expected to assimilate to their culture without any regards to your culture being accepted by them. Smothering - definitely! The perceived disrespect is because the nature of th…

That's what I'm gunning for, and hopefully he'll have that conversation. He suggested I talk to her about it, but I gently pointed out that it's absolutely not my place to do that as all she'll see is the new woman trying to take her baby from her, so it has to come from him. The more I think about it and the more I read the comments on here, the more I mellow out about how I see it as disrespectful for her to be loading us up with so much unwanted food, but we'll see how it progresses as the mo…

No, he didn't. He's lived on his own for the past four years, and she'd 'surprise' him with food then too. Only, she never gave him this volume (usually it'd only be a few tupperwares and some cake, or similar), and in our previous city we knew friends and homeless people who'd gladly take his extras. Here, we don't have those options yet. We've tried seeing if there are any people in need who want it, but people are reluctant to take it due to Covid, and our new city has an issue with professio…

That's what I desperately want to avoid, but equally I'm viscerally against letting food spoil/throwing food out. I suppose if it's a toss-up between food wastage and keeping the MIL on side, I'll just have to get used to throwing meals away. Goodness does it make me feel horrible to do though, especially since I grew up in a household that at times suffered from food insecurity.

Since we're so new to the neighbourhood, we don't currently have any neighbours or close by friends that we could give home cooked food to - it's something we have done before though, and something we no doubt will do again once we make connections here! It's just difficult to meet the neighbours in the current climate, but God willing we'll make friends soon. I do think the waste aspect is what's mainly causing my lack of grace, so hopefully when we can share food with others it'll be easier to…

In my opinion, the absolute most important thing is that he has the same morals and values as you, and SHOWS IT. It's all well and good him saying he values charity work, but how often does he volunteer? Of course, the same goes for you in actually following through with the claims you make about your values, as such behaviour is what attracts the kind of man you want.

You're absolutely right. With a bit of reflection, I am making a mountain out of a molehill and since this is the only thing that frustrates me, that's a very charmed position to be in and I should focus on that! He's an absolute gem of a man, and if the washing machine lasts a slightly shorter lifespan than anticipated, that's okay. I'm going to do Designer_rub_4732's suggestion of offering to split the loads down in advance, but that is as far as I'll go and then I'll just be grateful to have …

Oh I know! He just seems to go into tunnel vision and thinks a bigger load means less work, but he doesn't get that water and Detergent can't penetrate compacted fabric as well as they do loose! Luckily he doesn't jam things in to the point that they come out still dirty, so it's mainly the longevity of the machine I'm concerned about.

That is... Not how my household is. It's not that I don't want him to do the laundry - it's lovely that he pitches in! - it's that I don't want to be a nag and make out that he doesn't know what he's doing. I DEFINITELY do not need to tip-toe around my husband. He would move heaven and earth if I merely mentioned wanting him to do so. He just can't seem to get his head around not overfilling the machine, and because I love and respect him I don't want to patronise him.
/r/RedPillWomen06/04/21 10:01 PM

I hadn't considered the first option, and really like it! I'll give that a go, see if he likes it! I'd love to get a new machine (the current one was a mistake - we should have stuck with a higher capacity!) but he's the breadwinner and so I'm not wanting to ask to replace something that works perfectly well. He'd say yes without hesitation, but that money could be better used elsewhere. I try to get the laundry done when he's at work, but you know what it's like! A never-ending task!
/r/RedPillWomen06/04/21 05:20 PM
2

I have said as such to him, but because it's a conversation had after the fact I just don't think he really takes it in to remember for next time, and he defaults to the 'the more in the machine, the more comes out clean' mentality. It doesn't help that our current machine has a small capacity, but he hasn't altered the size of the loads he puts in from when we had our previous machine with a larger drum.

I either wear cotton or linen house dresses when I'm pottering, or when my partner and I are having a super causal evening I like to steal some of his pyjamas! It may not be the most attractive look in the world, but he really likes it as he says it makes me look 'cosy' and 'adorable'. However, I do put in a lot of effort into a very feminine appearance 99.9% of the time, so these occasional evenings where I steel his jammies are a bit of relaxed silliness for us and very much a departure from m…

I'm so happy for you! I've been exclusively wearing skirts and dresses for about four or five years now, and it's an incredibly powerful thing. Femininity has been replaced by feminism, and the world has lost the importance of what it means to be a lady. The only way we can reverse that is through living fully as the women we are. I've been introducing a good friend of mine to more traditional, feminine schools of thought and she recently made the transition to skirts. The other day, we were hav…

Playing hard to get makes it all about the chase, and turns it into a game. And what do you do when you win a game? You stop playing that one and move on to the next. You want to be desirable, not hard to get. Be the woman that a respectable man would love to be in a relationship with, not a woman who's a prize to win and then drop when the fun is over. 'You Just Don't Understand' by Deborah Tannen. This isn't about femininity, but it has helped me greatly in my relationships with all the men in my life from my future husband, dad, and brother to my colleagues and acquaintances. The most immediate issue you seem to have is the lack of organisation. Nothing is more feminine than knowing the power of your own body, and respecting it. My best tips for feminine dress is to take notes from our mid-century counterparts. They knew the power of a balanced and well-accessorised outfit. A tight shirt befits a flared skirt. An all-tight outfit should be balanced out by being a conservativ…

When looking for a life partner, there are two things that you have to ensure:- 1) you are placing yourself in the same circles as the kind of man you'd like to commit your life to, and 2) you yourself are the kind of women such a man would like to commit to in return. The way you do this is by not focusing on finding a partner, but in continued and sustained self improvement and community engagement. You've already done a lot of work towards self improvement - keep it up! - so now it is time to…

What colour pallet do you wear? I'm very similar to you - small, petit, in my early 20s, and easily mistaken for a teen. I found that wearing jewel and neutral tones, as well as avoiding floral or particularly busy patterns, really makes me appear my age. My go-to is a well-fitting ivory or cream shirt or blouse with a jewel toned midi-length volumous skirt (circle or wide A-line). I express my personality through subtle or more traditional patterns on my skirts like plaid or checks, and details…

I personally do not keep people with adulterous personalities in my life as I see it as a fundamental moral failure. I have lost friends this way, but I'm glad of that because the friends I keep are good, honest, loyal, and trustworthy. When we first met, my partner was clueless about women acting this way (trust me, it took a lot for him to realise I was even interested and not just very friendly!) but as soon as I explained it from a female point of view, he quickly picked up when women are ac…

I am aware of them, and of the inherent toxicity of them. Good, solid relationships are not built on those borderline-incel concepts.

I agree with you completely, but just want to add a caviat that your mother finding love through infidelity is a very rare thing, and usually cheating just ends in everyone losing. Good men rarely are willing to be involved in infidelity, and rarely want a woman who's proven to be unfaithful.

It's use as a medication is one thing, but saying 'weed or champagne' does not suggest that it's being referred to in its medical capacity. Apart from the very few ways in which it's licensed medically, it is illegal, the supply chain is highly immoral, and to partake in illegal drug use is not a good look.

Oh definitely, this doesn't work with older kids! Though I've had success with this up to about 6-7 years old. The key is that you don't just rename food that they've had before and disliked - that dislike should be respected - but you rename food that they've rejected even the thought of without trying. And kids should absolutely involved in the cooking process as soon as they're able to be. I'm glad you found what works for your little ones!

https://www.livewellbakeoften.com/soft-chewy-oatmeal-raisin-cookies/ That's the recipe I use! I substitute out the raisins for currents, and add a glacé cherry to the top of each biscuit (I think it makes them look quite festive). They always receive a good reception, and I love how they're slightly healthier than a normal choc chip. Though, I wouldn't go as far as to call them fully healthy!

Bless you, I've found success with sending oat-based biscuits! There's a good online recipe I use, if you'd like the link. I package mine in kitchenroll-lined plastic takeaway containers inside padded envelopes. That seems to have the best success rate for me, but obviously that does limit the amount of biscuits you can send in one go. The two main things to remember is to send them first class so they arrive quickly, and don't send biscuits that are too brittle else your family will receive a b…

Tip - does your kid not like a certain food for no reason other than they just decided to hate it? Change the name! They may throw a tantrum at the thought of quiche for dinner, but I'm sure they'll love eggy cake! Is tagine a no-go? Try Mediterranean casserole! My partner and I may not have kids yet, but I was one before and I've worked and volunteered a lot with little ones. Though kids do have food they don't like because they genuinely can't stand the taste or texture, this works a dream for…

You're absolutely right in everything you've said. May I just add that people are more likely to put more thought into future gifts for people who are truly grateful? No one wants to waste time and effort on someone who doesn't acknowledge it, so even if one gift you receive isn't perfect, to be grateful for it means you're more likely to get an even more thoughtful gift the next year!

Bless, that sounds infuriating!!! Just remember there's a difference between being surrendered and being a doormat. Sometimes you need to put your foot down about something, and that's okay. You've tried telling him gently, but it might be worth sitting him down, and outright asking him why he doesn't believe you to be capable of basic tasks. Find out his reasoning. Just be aware that a man being a leader is very different to a man being controlling/a man who goes on power trips. Based on what y…

I've found the way that I look the most stylish is though completely ignoring current trends and fashions. I wear exclusively 1950s clothes (either true vintage or handmade by myself) and the classic silhouette, fabrics, patterns, etc absolutely never fail. Note that I'm not talking about rockabilly pinup here, but actual day-to-day fashion - I particularly like the earlier half of the century. By removing yourself from the modern 52-collections-a-year fashion industry, you can guarantee that yo…

You should definitely make the first move, but don't turn it into a chase. When you're interested in a guy, let him explicitly know that - tell him that you'd like to have dinner with him, or something like that. Make sure he has realised and acknowledged the fact that you're available and interested, and then leave it to him to act on that information. My partner is to this day absolutely clueless if someone is hitting on him (watching other girls try and fail to even get him to notice is my fa…

Since our first year together! It's the story of us, and is one of his 'save from a fire' possessions. It's quite lovely looking back over everything! I was anticipating having to start a new volume this year, but with how little has actually happened I think I can just about fit things in the current one. We'll see though!

This year he's getting a multicoloured crochet scarf (he chose the colours), and a watch-rocker so that his watch doesn't keep stopping since he can't wear it for work. Every year he gets an aftershave and I add the previous year to our scrapbook. He likes seeing the new pages as a Christmas thing because I write about our year next to the photos, and so he likes reading the paragraphs to be a special thing. He'll be getting a few other bits and bobs too, but they're the preplanned things! He re…

How are you trying to meet a man, and what are you bringing to the table other than your appearance? You'll find there are very few good men who just want arm-candy. What is your education? What are your hobbies and interests? Are there any causes your passionate about? Most men want women who they share similar values and interests with, but not to the point that their wife completely changes her whole personality to pander to his.. I met my future husband when we were both volunteering with a …

I like doing a half up/half down look but instead of putting the top half in a pony, I plait or twist it to add a little bit more interest. Plus, as my hair is so thick, this has the lovely side effect of leaving a smaller volume of hair free to annoy me!

Wool is your absolute best friend! Get yourself proper woollen stockings, woollen long skirts (I favour vintage Scottish-made skirts for their quality and thickness), woollen jumpers, and woollen jackets. Throw in a few cotton or linen layers for shirts and underskirts (if necessary), and you'll be snug as a bug! Whatever you do, avoid man-made plastic fibres like the plague. All they make you do is sweat, which is unpleasant at the best of times and so, so cold when it's chilly or windy. And wh…
