I think it depends on the city. I have have decent success getting girls to reply, but horrible success actually getting them to meet up in my hometown. But once I moved to the south, I was having girls message me and ask me out. I think demographics of the city make a huge difference.

Prices don't increase at the last minute. You only get a discount if you book months ahead of time. And there are always rooms available somewhere if you live in a city with at least 20k people
