This post was interesting and its cool how you arranged the info on a graph on the website. What would your take be on someone who physically can't do what would give them confidence?I'm injured so can't gym, run, do sports etc. can't study full time because my arm is injured. I've had the 2 main injuries for 3+ years (learnt about seddit during that time) and in that time I've improved my appearance (clothes etc.), learnt a language, started learning to dance, travelled a lot but for me the big…

My situation is sort of different i think. I'm not insecure about looks, I'm insecure about my limited lifestyle and the fact that I for the last few years and still now can't self-improve in a few areas like everyone else. I.e. Gym, full time study, with the result being a bare life. Do you get what i mean??

David Weir would be more appealing. I get what you are saying there. This will probably sound really dumb but I honestly believe I am of lower value because of my injury and the problems it has created in my current life. Doesn't that make BEING confident impossible?

Interesting, i feel a bit more motivated hearing that. Do you mind if i ask what sorts of "terrible conditions" they are dealing with? like what sorts of injuries.

What does "own it" and "wearing a weakness" actually mean in real life? If I act super confident and not worried about the injury people might think I'm faking it. Who would honestly not be worried about their life when they've had an injury that effects so much of life and hasn't recovered in 5 years.

I realise i might sound like rude disagreeing with parts of what you wrote but I'm doing it to (hopefuly) promote healthy discussion.

this was thought provoking, thanks. I get that you're being positive but I think its a stretch to say what I have atm is an "advantage". In my opinion, "Struggling against their own body" - is quite different from having a lifestyle-limiting serious ailment. I haven't told many girls but when I tell guys only a few have empathized with me. Many have been confused that an injury could last 4 years and some have even been annoying enough to say "you need to tough it out" or belittle my situation b…

I understand that people could respect me/or think "good on him" for the reasons you said but I'm still doubtful that a girl would find a guy attractive if he had these sorts of problems in his life. Maybe I've misunderstood you're message but I assumed girls would usually prefer guys in good shape/at least not physically limited. Are you a woman?

Are qualifying and screening the same thing? I thought they were different... I'm not trying to screen for anything really, the girl in question i've already met before so i know she is attractive and a good enough match personality wise for me. I thought qualifying was the idea that you get girls to prove themselves to you through how you control the conversation. As you can see I'm confused and this is precisely why i wanted some video/article or explanation from someone experienced

What if you can't "go to the gym" and most exercise related hobbies are unavailable to you due to physical injuries?? (My injuries are pec/shoulder, hip and some writers cramp in my dominant arm so can't do some intellectual pursuits either if they involve lots of writing/typing)

Yeah thats what saddens me lol I am in alright shape - have a good diet so no fat and not too skinny. I have got appearance, clothing sorted and posture isn't bad (could be better sometimes). I guess what my post didn't make clear enough is that its not just the fact that i can't lift weights. its that I can't get involved with most hobbies/forms of exercise or instruments etc. and not having any of that in life is unnatractive to women imo. do you understand what i mean?

I am seeing a PT and getting regular sports massage as well. But the injuries are quite complicated so I can't just "lift light". E.g. I have a sort of frozen shoulder on the left side which would just strengthen the knots if i worked out them out. This actually happened when the PT and i decided to add some resistance training to my exercises. There are some muscles I can't work which would mean I would end up adding to my already messed up imbalances in my body.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
