I’d say avoid meetups. Look into clubs at your school. There should be a directory. Look into stuff like Austin social bike rides, board game nights at local gaming stores, neighborhood adult kickball leagues, weekly groups or events at stores you like, hackathons, dance classes at the Texas women’s federation or Latin nights downtown. Just look around and be creative - I don’t know what your interests are. But roller skating is very hip right now and at one point nearly every new girl I met was…

Do you have medical insurance? Consider speaking to a therapist. This sounds like a deeper issue than being single or stressing about work life balance. UT also has councilors - I saw a few when I was in school. You might struggle at a social outing, but if you don’t go through that pain, you won’t meet more people. The whole point of a regular group activity is you slowly ingratiate yourself into a group of people who are all there to do the thing first, and to socialize second. Don’t worry abo…

No I’m not in Austin. I am curious why this was something on your mind 4 years ago that is still giving you anxiety today. I guess you can message me - but figuring out how to live your life happens outside of an Internet forum.

Okay. So we were in the same program, I think, in Austin. Austin is a phenomenal city with super friendly people, tons of great bars, clubs, parks, hiking, activities, artists, nerd shit, dance events, etc. Last time I was in town my SUPER hot programmer friend got picked up by a dude who was into the same niche app as her. Austin Is a city where most people are open to conversations with strangers. Most adults you meet will work 9-5, this will not kill their social, dating, creative, or sex liv…

Yeah idk why people are acting like this is a bad idea. Most of my friends are women and most of them LOVE board games - several couples I know met playing board games and they’re all very attractive people. I recently bought a lil simple two person card game that looked cute just so I could have something quick and fun to play on dates.

I mean I’ve been on these forums since I was in high school (which tbh I think is far too young) so it’s hard to say how much of my conversational skills are learned here versus picked up in real life. I will say that putting myself into situations where I had to interact with a lot of new people all the time definitely helped a lot more than any theory - which is kind of the point of this post. When I say the convo he outlined seems like a normal convo that’s more just observationally from conv…

Lmao I literally just said that what he’s describing is a normal conversation with a new person, except people forget what that’s like because they get all in their head with PUA lingo that makes it cold and mechanical… then I come up and you’ve got literal abbreviations for talking about how much you enjoying traveling and making assumptions about where someone is from. Lmaooooooooooo.
/r/seduction11/12/21 02:02 AM
2

Again I think what you’re a describing is pretty normal conversation that people have, peppered in with some lingo picked up through PUA circles (like social proof - more like relatable person) that could make someone forget that’s what talking to someone new is like… rather than this scary mechanical cold approach opener more lingo etc EDIT: also wow now I’ve seen your penis gnarly bro alt accounts
/r/seduction11/12/21 01:55 AM
4

You still are talking to new people and initiating conversations - which I think people forget is cold approaching, but the normal kind that everyone does, not the prescribed weird kind taught here. I think if I have the thought in my head “go approach this person” it’s going to lead to a bad outcome, I mean, who uses that kind of language. But whenever I have fun talking to new people who look cool or cute, it’s almost never taken poorly, even if it doesn’t lead anywhere.

It’s kind of insane. So like 35 with 25, sure. Totally see that sometimes. 20 with 30, rare but happens. Anyone over 40 with anyone under 30, super super fucking rare. My ex married someone 35 years older than her when she was 24, but that guy is next level successful - he got rob zombie into directing films, produced a bunch of shows I like, and owns property across the USA… plus she’s a super rich girl who values money a lot. Statically, any guy reading on Reddit can’t do that.

No. It’s much easier to transmit with an outbreak but It sheds asymptomatically. I have GHSV1 and I’m contagious between .5-2% of days, depending on the study you look at.

80% might be high but 60-70% - getting more likely the older you get. Most people have it asymptomatically, and in the population that gets outbreaks they’re still it’s very rare. Herpes, even genital herpes, is a big nothingburger for the vast majority of people.

They’re in a literal cult/pyramid scheme which is based around drinking. My biggest regret in my life is involving myself with Greek life. If you feel like you can’t talk to these girls, maybe they have really different values than you and they’re not worth the time.

I have dated several people I met while they were working… I also have had two housemates and a band mate that I met the same way. Generally I approach staff with a “can I be the best part of their day” or at least be a highlight - cuz being a waiter or cashier is stressful yet a lot of people who work these roles are fairly social. When I have gotten numbers of waitresses it has been OBVIOUS they were interested. It was never the first time I met them either. When I have been having a positive …

I’ve picked up a girl talking about DnD, and know several guys who have hooked long term gfs playing DnD. They normally met them somewhere else, like a street fair or a roller rink, but hooked them playing DnD. World is changing. Everybody loves video games.

Yup. I find occasional larger age gaps, but its waaaaay more common for people to date people in the same stage of life as them. A five year age gap is pretty common 25+ ... because theres not so much difference between 25 and 30, 30 and 35... but how many 18/19/20 year olds do you know dating 30/40/50 year olds like this would suggest?

Oh it's for sure an addiction. I even have a lock box for my phone. I just think that's much easier said than done. Especially in a global pandemic when almost all communication and much socialization is electronic. I also live in a small studio, so I dont even have another room to put my phone in. I'd say five seconds after putting my phone down the overwhelming urge to check it sets back in. That's definitely a generational problem too.

Since this is Instagram/Tinder I am talking to a lot of people. But replies come at differing speeds. I actually cant go to the gym in my area, but do have home workout gear. I write a lot, host a podcast, workout, learn programming, work 40+ hours a week, have a social life, see my family - so the problem is not hobbies.

Both of his ex wives say that he wasnt like that with them, but that they believe the survivors. Interestingly, almost all the abuse allegations come from after his second divorce, when he really got deep into drugs. Totally believable for me that he would become more abusive as his addictions deepened. Its behaviour that I've seen in other people with drug problems that stretch on for multiple decades.

Work is a social circle. Also not a smart idea. It happens, but absolutely terrible idea to persue. Better to make friends with your colleagues, go to events they invite you to, and maybe meet someone there.

I think social circles is broad enough to encompass hobbies, or things like that too. Totally agree. Great point. I was just talking today about how the biggest thing younger me would be disappointed about it how I no longer talk to people in public places like bus stops, trains, lines, and in the street (men and women). I'm much more self conscious than I used to be about this - before I met bandmates, roommates, and girlfriends in places like that... now I'm just worried people will think I'm …

I will say I tend to talk more casually to more people, and less deeply with a couple. Like at a party I'm more likely to talk to 30 people briefly than 3 people for an hour. I think this works against me cuz I've found often the secret is just finding a girl who is enjoying talking to me, then talking until she is willing to come home. Since I bounce around a lot I have ultimately hurt myself.

Met my first girlfriend and three women I've slept with regularly while they were at work as baristas or waitresses. I've also met bandmates, roommates, and many good friends the same way. Your mileage may vary. Two of my former roommates, who were girls, met a bunch of guys while they were on the clock too.

Yeah I live a pretty active life and have good photos. But tons of the girls I've dated are pro or amateur models. Seems like a great hobby, taking pictures of beautiful women. Bro you are literally a foot taller than me and your little brother is half a foot taller than me. Neither of you are in any position to talk about the realities of dating as a short person, neither of you are short. An ideal man for many women is "dark, tall, and handsome". it gives both an advantage to guys who are tall and something out of control for people to beat themselves up over. there are tons of girls who say they don't want to date under six feet tall, so it does matter. but not to everyone, and not as much as people make it out to.

I picked up a girl by sitting down, talking to her, asking if I could put my hand on her leg, and asking her if she wanted to go home, and making out in the uber. way over complicated it. meeting, grabbing a drink, sitting somewhere else, and taking a girl who is now alone home is very reasonable. everyone overthinks this shit.

I personally think tinder is a waste of time. I have met girls off of it but the amount of effort you have to put in, versus meeting someone in real life, is ridiculous. I do not list my height. It's irrelevant. I swipe left on girls that say only 6+ feet. The girl I am talking about came directly to my house. She voiced some objections about my height which I immediately laughed off then busted her balls about her boobs, which I would NEVER EVER DO IN ANY OTHER SITUATION. That girl was crazy th…

oh one time I did have a tinder girl come to my house and start talking shit about my height. I stared at her boobs and said they were small... then we went upstairs and banged.
/r/seduction07/12/17 02:20 AM

5ft4 have literally never gotten this in my life. height is only an issue if you're insecure about it. slept with plenty of girls taller than me. I do occasionally get called gimli but it's actually pretty funny I do look like him.

also way more people play guitar than rock climb. climbing is way more interesting imo. all marathon runners I've met are really awesome people. most of the girls I could see myself marrying are marathon runners. guitar players are egomaniacs generally. if you are really good at guitar you can view yourself as the musical center of a band instead of just a member. I get along much better with bass players and drummers, but that's just me.

man I do a million things. I am extremely happy, extremely interested in my life. I would be bored doing one thing. in the last week I've: sailed with disabled kids, worked on my book, won a pub quiz, made money on cryptos, slept with a beautiful european girl, hung out with many friends, climbed trees, programmed. if I only worked on my book I'd be further but I'd be sad my dude.

if you are doing a heavy degree... I'd say you maybe need to wait my dude. It's more important than picking up girls. Being focused on your life and future is really important. In college I prioritized school over girls and my dating life suffered. after college I had my shit together + free time and slept with more girls in a few months than I had in the years of being a computer science major. I will say this though: college provides opportunities that are not available to many people. Now you…

I mean no disrespect, because I grew up near that area and moved away because it's too expensive. I know you're very committed to your company but have you considered moving somewhere cheaper? There's places in America where you could pay 350 dollars a month in rent... I've lived in one before.

Also my dude, you are talking to some cool people. You've got a friend who plays on the hockey team? Or at least a dude you talked to long enough that he's bringing up cool stories trying to impress you. You've got a girl you're talking to who is comfortable enough to tell you that she's having a huge halloween orgy. Things aren't as bad in your social life as you make them out to be.
/r/seduction23/11/17 12:10 PM

If you want to have an orgy go to burning man or to sex clubs. Life doesn't end after college. I slept with more girls the year after I graduated then the last two years of college. But that's because I had my life together. That didn't happen overnight. I worked hard to have awesome friends, to learn how to be social, to get a good career. And part of that was assuming 100% responsibility for my own life. You need to assume responsibility. Don't feel helpless. Also my dude there's a lot of cool…

It's really more of a book with a good story than a self improvement guide. I'm rereading it just because I found it in Salvation Army and it's really entertaining. Read the Game. It's not a pickup book it's one of the best books ever written, in my opinion. The story is insane and they guy who wrote it was a really successful writer before he went into pickup. It provides an in depth look into who the people giving advice actually are. At one point Tyler, who is jealous of the author Style, actually breaks down his mannerisms and teaches a bunch of people to act and dress like Style just to cockblock him. These "random assumptions" are all talked about in …

Gotta be honest, I've had a very nice social circle many times in my life. And it helps. It helps when I go out because I have a base of my people to return to. I am super happy when a girl does suggest an alternate. It's a real green flag. the absence of it is not enough to say things won't work out or that I should give up. There's certain currents you can pick up - if you know someone is genuinely busy and wants to meet up or if they are ghosting you.

I normally get a verbal confirmation before I kiss - not always a direct question but something flirty. I think a great example of listening being effective is the movie Boyhood. Ethan Hawke tells his son that to be miles ahead of other boys his age he should just ask questions to the girls he's interested in. And when his son applies this lesson he listens to what the girl says, talks about her, talks about himself for a bit, then shifts the conversation back to her with some questions. Really natural and fun conversation.

Now if I am starting to see a girl, and we've fooled around and she's said she's into me and wants to fuck me - but I haven't because she's normally so smashed she can't remember the evening and I don't like how she acts around other men, th…

yeah that's definitely a huge issue. I also just have some pretty severe intimacy issues - these guys typically are pretty open about how they feel and I am not.

I think I am a very attractive guy, but I look at the guys the women I'm interested in end up with and they are taller, more muscular, and also play music. I can believe I'm the most attractive person in the room, doesn't matter if there is a more attractive person in the room.

lol yeah, and also kink is fun but not necessarily the thing you should be looking for in a lifelong partner. my brother is very kinky, has no problem getting laid but has lots of problems finding stable partners. I have problems with everything with love and sex so can't really comment or give advice.

I think the ugly dude who is delusional about his attractiveness is not going to bang anyone. That said the point you are making, with lots of hyperbole, is be confident in your own attractiveness and I'm just nitpicking at that because the whole tone of the post strikes me as not cocky but arrogant, which is not attractive.

damn dude what's up with that? I meet dozens of girls a week who really enjoy talking to me and none of them ever want to bone.

some of this advice sounds like encouraging delusion - if you're an ugly fucker and you think you're the most good looking dude on the planet then you are delusional. also I know some incredibly charming people who walk up to groups and go "I hate myself" and make a shit ton of friends and bang girls doing that. if they were not so honest and true to what they actually are they wouldn't be so charming. I'd rather be in touch with myself and aware of how to improve than in denial of my faults.

in terms of advice - what to say, how to act, internal attitudes, all that jazz I think that men provide better advice to other men about how to pick girls up. but girls aren't fucking clueless and if they aren't providing generic - be yourself advice some of it is really good. I had kino explained to me many times online and the way I was touching girls was not properly tuned until a female friend spent 30 minutes going over different types of touch and how they are received. there's a school o…

again, returned from a weekend where I met literally dozens of people - sometimes running into 5 people I know per 100 people I pass. introduced myself to a ton of girls. some I tried and got no's, which I accepted gracefully because consent is key. there was one I was vibing with pretty hard, she was staring at me for a while before I talked to her, but nothing happened. another girl I tried to dance with, and was pretty nervous about approaching to begin with, pulled my sweater hoody down and …

Last night I probably talked to 3-4 girls with the intent of hooking up with them, and another dozen or more without that intent. If I'm being honest I have a lot of intimacy and sex related issues that I have no idea how to resolve because I cannot find a partner willing to work through them with me.

What advice do you have for a person who is already extremely social and fairly attractive who still seems to struggle with sexual connection and vulnerability.

Really depends. I've had some girls who gave really good advice - including a friend who spent almost 30 minutes going over different types of touch, from friendly to sexual. And girls who have made me approach women less as objects and more as people, which I've noticed has had a huge effect on my success. And I've had dudes give me just god awful advice. And a dude once gave me advice so good I used it to fuck his girlfriend.

but that's not what a lot of the advice about kino is - decarlo and that section from models are advocating overt touch without social intelligence.
/r/seduction05/04/16 08:41 PM

a lot of this advice about touching doesn't say you should build up enough attraction first - it just says touch early and often even if the girl isn't down. I cited one passage above which you sort of just laughed off but that's the kind of advice I'm talking about.
/r/seduction05/04/16 08:40 PM

I'm here because there's all kinds of online methods saying exactly that - "touch = get laid" and no they really don't go into social calibration. the whole premise of the decarlo escalation ladder is touch these ways and you'll get laid, this section in models is advocating no tact. of course you need to touch in order to get physical - but that is not at all what a lot of people advocate. and, since this is the internet, people can be full of shit and give bad advice.

you're a charmer.
/r/seduction05/04/16 08:33 PM

What you said is - watch someone's body language and touch if they are receptive. What he says is touch girls right away and if their body language says stop then keep doing it, and do it more actually. But you're defending him, saying he's right. And I don't believe that passage for a second. I've had A LOT of girls who were interested in me say that I came off way too strong because I touched them too much too soon.

This is the kind of advice I'm talking about - from Models. Which everyone talks about like it's the Holy Grail. "I have a friend. He’s a decent-looking guy. He almost never approaches (except when he’s drunk). He’s awkward to talk to. He has a strange sense of humor. But he gets physical with women. He touches them early. He touches them often. And even if they don’t reciprocate or move away. He tries again. He’s always going for it. And you know what? He gets laid, constantly. Hot women too. I…

Stopped smoking in July, hasn't effected me for better or worse
/r/seduction01/04/16 06:31 AM

Yeah that's actually not a bad explanation. There's generally one girl I'm focusing in on and though that girl changes the approach does not. When I was doing well earlier this year I had a bunch of different dates lined up. I do think things will be easier after I graduate, just right now I'm surrounded by gorgeous girls and not getting laid. For you, how much time can normally pass between a first and second date... Or meeting someone and a first date?
/r/seduction23/02/16 05:02 PM

Dated usually involve dinner and dancing, with some kind of third activity thrown in. I don't date as much as I should, mostly becaus flaking is really discouraging. Also throw onto that I'm a Cs major and am extremely busy, most girls work and scheduling is a discouraging nightmare. Like right now I'm talking to a girl, we had a great first date and she said she wants to go out again - last time I hit her up she was sick, this time she's working the night I picked and i feel like a text or two …

I read the game for the first time when I was 13. Have read the sidebar and a dozen other books. Way past the reading stage. Don't approach like its my mission in life but do talk to new girls every day, when I go out, etc. have had a friend tell me he's never met someone who is able to meet so many different types of girls and connect with them. Am generally pretty positive, hard sometimes though.

Yeah it's a fine line. I have been too cocky in the past but have dialed it down, people tell me I'm much more pleasant than I used to be. To be honest, I was pretty drunk when I wrote this and the girl I was going after had a history with the dude she left with - it has nothing to do with me.

I wish I'd developed skills earlier on. Good habits. Like guitar - I've been struggling with learning guitar, and if I'd started in high school I'd have the time to learn it. When you're younger your brain is developing and you can pick up skills easier. Work out, get fit, you have more energy. Skateboard! I'm too brittle to do that shit now. And just go for it with girls. I had so many missed opportunities because I just wouldn't go for it.

Drone strikes create terrorists. Period. The murder of innocents in the middle east creates the enemies we fight tomorrow. I don't think this really has to do with feminist theory. We've been killing people in the middle east for over a decade, it's not because of feminism. It's because America's moral values are fucked. As for why educating women in the middle east is important - it's because they are ACTUALLY living in a patriarchy. Not the bullshit that women whine about in the US, but the re…
