There's a man on the fencing team who has been accused of rape by three different women and managed to appeal his suspension to be allowed to compete, and was successful. So, yeah, I won't be choosing similarly to the Olympics committee. To be fair, I get what you're trying to say, but the Olympics is as shallow and problematic as any other organization.

I just did this, and my (ex) partner is apparently really upset with me for not "staying to work on" a relationship I had no interest in any more. No regrets, and even happier that I left someone who seemed to think I owed it to him to put effort into something that was no longer serving me for his sake alone.

🤣 oh man that last line got me. The rest of that is super relatable though. I've had partners do the same thing to me ("help me! But as soon as you try ill resent you!")

A whole new problem tho - he's such an addict he can't wait a few seconds? A car ride is too long?

Yes as far as I remember there is absolutely no romance, and it focuses on her relationship with her mother and younger brothers.

Worth mentioning also that punching anyone is a punishable offense. You arent "allowed" to punch men, so no, you aren't allowed to punch women either. What world are these idiots living in.

So, just some things I've learned: NEVER panic-delete anything someone else has sent you or someone else's profile. Screenshot anything sus that they can get rid of, or screenshot everything if you must block/unfriend/delete. Google everyone before meeting. Get their Facebook or insta before meeting and go through photos and posts to see who their friends are (make sure they have lots of legit friends!) Try to have a "professional" profile that you do this through so its authentic without having…

The wording on this is kind of weird to me. I'm not in science but like how common is it really to get your own lab? How common is it to get grants? That being said im pretty poor so 60k seems comfortable to me lol. Being an immigrant and a woman is certainly an obstacle to overcome in the sciences in America and this is incredible, im just curious why the other things made it in. What's the average salary of someone else in her field?

1) i got an email so much like this from my ex after they realized I blocked them. Same "sorry I was too focused on myself to care about you" same " these are all the ways you helped me" same "heres some problems I had with you even though you've given no indication that you care" same "I just want to talk and be there for you" and same attempt to guilt me into a "response, just so I know..." Its really unbelievable. Also eff this dude for telling you how to take care of your own cats! What a to…

That or they're only half listening and just hear "dark chocolate" and think " oh she loves dark chocolate". (Still a shit partner because they don't actually listen to what you say.) But as an example: The other day my male friend/housemate(?? We live on a ranch together) was picking up beer for me and asked what I wanted. I said "anything but tecate". He comes back with...Tecate. he is an absolute sweetheart and I know it wasn't on purpose. Just wasn't actually listening.

Pretty much every guy I know would be STOKED to have a claw machine. It blows my mind that she managed to find one who didn't. There must have been so much about that match that was bad.

Imo this is what the woman in the comment is saying. I didn't see it as victim blaming, just like...aware of this fact. Maybe I got it wrong

My current partner has the only OLD profile I've ever liked. We were friends for a long time before we dated and I came across his profile once - all it said was "Strong as an ox. Good teeth." True to form, he has great teeth (im secretly really into teeth so...) and regularly helps me move things and lift stuff. Very sweet and placid. Its important to me for someone to have an original profile that does not engage in any of these played out "code phrases".

Seriously. I had a paint employee tell me that the entire righthand bank of the spray paints was for "metal only". I had no idea what to tell him and settled on "I've been using this on wood trim for years and it works great". I think he thought that "metallic" meant "metal only" and didn't know what a metallic finish was. A separate time, I was working on a job and had been painting flats the same color of pink for a few days. Just so much time staring at this one color. Ran out to get more and…

Ugh. Second to last one reminds me of my ex. Would regularly bail on plans we made because something more interesting came up, or they just decided they weren't feeling like it. Last minute. Like, once I was ready to go, with no warning. Its obvious now that they were just trying to trick me into going places without them so they could do whatever "better" plans came up alone. Just thinking of that relationship fills me with embarrassment.

This was a super interesting read! Not sure why it's too much for some people. Nicely organized. If you're having trouble getting through it; find the bold headers, and scan the beginning of each paragraph. It should be easy to discern which paragraphs are "info" and which are "storytime". I do recommend just buckling down and reading the whole thing though! (Pretend its a chapter in a book?)

Incredible how he can string so many words together and still say nothing. This is him ending it but trying to keep his option open for later.

The only true male friends I have are men that I got to know slowly through my social scene and work over a matter of years, are friends with my partner or I am friends with theirs, etc. In some of them, we had moments (pre relationships) where we were flirting and for whatever reason nothing came from it, but both of us still put efforts into a friendship. It helps when you live in huge houses with 10-12 housemates. I find it does a lot to teach people how to create lasting bonds that don't cen…

By this metric I was a virgin til I was 25 but since then I've had a LOT of sex. Say what you want about punk kids and artists but in my experience they definitely like to make women cum.

At least you planted the seeds of truth. I just got out of a relationship with someone who lied and cheated and was generally horrible. I had people tell me what they thought of him and it was those words I would hear whenever he was awful. They helped me fight attempts to gaslight and eventually gave me the strength to call it quits. Maybe it didn't work immediately, but it doesn't mean it fell on deaf ears.
