The thing is, the people who are keeping the sexist policy are a bunch of old men. I was talking to my grandfather not too long ago (he's almost 90) and cringed when I heard him say that he thinks 2 years military service should be compulsory for young men. He's from a different era, so I can forgive someone from his generation for thinking that, but what I don't like is when old sexist norms like that still pervade the current generation.

It isn't about the math. It's what they are allowed to do with the math. How they decide to apportion costs based on the math is a subjective decision. No one disputes the math. But the math itself isn't relevant. What is relevant is that they make an assumption about you based on your gender and discriminate against you solely based on that assumption. The US recently banned health insurance companies from charging young women more premiums than young men because it was discriminatory. This is same exact principle.

There's a silver lining to this statement, and that is that there's interest in letting go of the harmful stigma that boys can't play with dolls. I think it would be fantastic if boys grew up not to feel ashamed to go into "care work" if they wanted to. There is no one person or central authority that controls what feminism is, or what MRA is for that matter. It's a movement that slowly evolves over many years. I actually don't mind some objectification (in moderation of course). The problem comes when we objectify a whole gender. It's not a real court. It's an arbitration where both parties chose the judge, in this case a TV show. But even though it's not a real court, I was impressed with the way the judge viewed the case. I believe we can be against circumcision while also not making guys who are circumcised feel like something is wrong with them. That is a big problem I've been seeing lately on here. The source uses the phrase "up to" when it mentions those sentences. So if we ignore the felony charge as incidental due to her stupidity, that leaves the misdemeanor charge of "up to" 2 years and $5,000 which would almost certainly be reduced and end up being nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

Yes, I've read the article. The news is frequently inaccurate about these kinds of things. We don't know why he killed himself. The alimony thing is just a theory. For all we know, the alimony he owed was perfectly fair (yes there is such a thing).
