GTFO. I was in a very similar situation. Just cut your losses and run. You'll be glad you did. Also, I had my wife arrested for a domestic battery and she spent 24 hours in jail. The cops know what to look for. The days of just arresting the male are long gone. If she hits you call 911. And when she starts to go crazy pull out your phone and start recording.

Dude you are IN YOUR PRIME. This sounds like low confidence and low self esteem. You've been divorced a few years and you're still in a funk, I think you should get into therapy. When I was 35 I was dating legit hotties in their '20s. And I am average looking at best and have basically always been poor. You can do it too. You just have to believe in yourself. Start worrying more about you. Fuck all that other shit. Before you know it you're going to be 45 and then you'll be really depressed that…

I had my wife arrested for domestic battery about a month ago. She spent 24 hours in jail. And now has court ordered domestic violence counseling classes for four months, plus she has to stay sober for whatever that's worth. I felt just the way you're feeling for about a week. Once the fog cleared I'm glad I called. Fuck her. She deserved it for all the unbelievably shitty things she did to me and her genuine stupidity. I'll bet a dollar you're going to be feeling the same way in a few days. She…

It sounds like you're on the younger side and there's no children involved. So thank your lucky starts for that alone. Most guys here would tell you that's worth billions of dollars within itself. IMO just get the fuck out and don't look back I promise you things will get so much better. As men we tend to stress the logistics, the finances, the logic of it all. I made all those mistakes and wound living a year in total hell. Once I finally just said fuck it and left my life improved dramatically…

I moved out nine days ago after four years of living with a BPD lunatic. Just this morning I felt the peace that I'd been looking for. The first week was a lot of adjusting, moving logistics, emotions etc. But it's calming for me and it will for you too

Good for you man! You should be proud of yourself. Luckily for me we don't have any kids nor any assets. My divorce is basically a breakup with a little bit of paperwork. The only downside is it's going to take me awhile to get over the trauma that I was subjected to, but also the feeling that I let myself down. Why did I let myself get into such a mess? I feel like I betrayed myself and that's the hardest thing for me to deal with. Stay strong buddy

I've been doing that too man. I've been a gym rat my whole life. I think that's kind of the catch. 22. I don't know what else to do. I already go to the gym, I've always been in dressing nice and cool clothes, the only thing I'm really lacking is a social life. When you're 44-year-old male meeting new friends is tough. If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears.

I go in for my blood test on Monday. I'm glad you said that because I recommended a testosterone test. My doctor said she didn't think I needed it but I told her to do it anyway. I'd be interested to see what it says. As I'm getting older I'm trying to keep an eye on it. I find I get emotional watching movies and stuff when I certainly never used to. Funny enough my neighbor told me he got on testosterone therapy when he started crying about a commercial.

That's crazy. About a month ago I had my ex arrested for domestic battery after she attacked me while I was sleeping. She clawed in my face so hard her acrylic nails broke off. When the cop showed up they took one look at me and put her in handcuffs. She spent 24 hours in jail. The irony of it, and get this, she's started that whole fight over a girl that liked the Facebook photo of me. It was the most ridiculous b******* ever. However, that same day she had a leaky tire. When I was trying to fi…

This is how guys fuck it up at the gym. FWIW I worked in the fitness industry for 15 years. Gym pick up is hard unless you work there. Side note: so many women cheat on their husbands with their personal trainers it's ridiculous. Ive got stories ppl wouldn't believe. Anyway, my advice is to make a friend. Don't hit on them. Find an opportunity to chat and be cool. If she shows IOIs you know what to do otherwise build on it. That's how we did it as employees anyway. Lastly, I finally hit up my gy…

r/AlAnon Check out that sub. It's about dealing with alcoholic family members. Your wife is an alcoholic. No doubt about it. Mine was a borderline alcoholic but a cocaine addict. Life's too short for this man. I tried to help mine get clean for months and she never put in an honest effort. All while our marriage was going to shit. Sometimes you just gotta cut your losses.

Yeah man exact same situation. My ex never took responsibility for anything. She just thought that the most outrageous behavior on her part was somehow okay. She never apologized and when she did it was because I had to pry it out of her. She would flip out on me because of little things I didn't do or did do that made her mad. Just super inconsequential s*** like not giving her a ride to work because she didn't have a driver's license. Like get a driver's license. I'm not going to babysit you. …

Similar for me. Years of physical, emotional, and technological abuse. It came to head a couple weeks ago when I finally called the cops and had her arrested for domestic battery. Around that same time I learned a lot about narcissistic disorder. While I still think that term is thrown around a lot and often unfairly, it absolutely applied to my wife. She thought certain rules just didn't apply to her because she was special but they applied to me.

How was the experience for you? Did you have a hard time not going back? How long till you started feeling like your new place was home? It's only my second night here but it feels weird. It kind of depends. I usually make up a story to get a conversation going . My go-to is this: "My brother was supposed to meet me here, but he's at home because his girlfriend is upset that his ex commented on his Instagram. I don't think that's fair, what do you guys think?" This is a story that actually happened to me, but I flip it around, because it's so absurd and if you tell it right, it always gets a laugh: "My friend is supposed to meet me here but I don't know if he's coming. He just ca…

/r/Divorce_Men18/09/24 08:40 PM

You're always going to look around. Even if she was a 10 eventually you'll get at least a little bored. You're a man. It's okay. Also, you don't need to be with someone. If you're not feeling a great connection then cut her loose. She might have a great resume, but that's not going to fulfill you long-term. It's only been a year and a half. That's nothing in the grand scheme of things. Take things slow, work on yourself. Good luck dude

First of all, I give you a lot of credit for flying by the seat of your pants for 3 weeks and not going back. I've done the same and usually wound up going back, because I know where else to go. As far as the apartment people, I wouldn't worry about it. Eventually you're going to meet people and they're going to learn who you are. Your best bet right now is just to kill them with kindness and be yourself. With that said, congratulations! You're free man. You got your whole life ahead of you. I'm…

I hear you. The cops took pictures. We rent, and her two daughters are here, not my kids. We have no real money or assets. I'm just going to get the fuck out and not look back. Throughout all this, believe it or not, I always thought she was lucky to have me. Because I'm not a violent guy. I'm super chill. She's going to wind up in a relationship and do this to some guy that's going to just beat the living hell out of her. That's what usually happens, according to the cops anyways.

Look, you have plenty of time to worry about finances and logistics. Right now, however, I think you just need to focus on your mental health. I would be shocked if your employer didn't have mental health resources. There's usually a crisis line you can call and speak to a therapist. There's no shame in it at all. I called a crisis line through my company and got excellent help. It was one of the best things I ever did for myself. If you broke your arm on the job you wouldn't ignore it. You're m…

Sorry you're in this mess. It'll get better. Many here are advising therapy and a grey rock approach for your BDP wife. My wife is BDP and I did both. First my therapist was extremely helpful. I called one morning after a nasty fight that my wife started while we were out for reasons I don't even remember. After three years of her shit and feeling trapped I called a therapist line that my work provided. I never in a million years thought I would need therapy. The guy was awesome and calling was …

I ended up getting a therapist to deal with BDP wife and help guide me into and through divorce. I was also having issues with setting firm boundaries because when you're dealing with a BDP person it's like you're constantly changing playing fields. Anyway the therapist was extremely helpful. He told me when dealing with BDP types, especially when they're having a meltdown, speak in "I feel" statements. So you'd say "I feel like you're trying to hurt me to make yourself feel better and that make…

This is absolutely without a doubt abuse. Its verbal abuse, and intimidation. Do not have kids with this woman. Run! You’re only in your late 20s. I knowbit doesnt feel like it right now but you’re still young as fuck. Fuck the money. Fuck the house. Get out and live your life.

Sex is the issue dude. You’re a man, you need to be having sex. Sex is linked to a ton of health benefits and not having sex, and even worse general loneliness is linked to a ton of negative benefits. Loneliness is arguably worse for your cardiovascular health than smoking. In any case, if I had to guess, you’re probably intimidated by the idea of dating again, which is 100% normal. But you’ve got to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Life is to short and health literally depends on it. Goo…

This sounds good, but it can backfire. Here in Arizona we have a similar policy. My current girlfriend’s ex husband spent 10 years in prison for vehicular homicide following a OWI accident. Upon release he was granted 50% custody with $70 a month in child support. The judge did not even take into consideration that we knew zero about his record while in prison, the fact he was living with relatives and had no job nor the fact that he didn’t and still doesn’t have a driver’s license. He was picki…

Idk what exactly the situation is, but I grew up around a lot of bikers ( my dad, uncles etc). Most are pussies playing dress up. There’s a reason old biker gang dudes wore 1% badges. Go watch South Park season 13 episode 12 as it’s about bikers.

She's checked out. It's only a matter of time before she either asks for a divorce outright or tries sabotaging the marriage to get out. If her dad is wrapped up in this it may be the reason she hasn't outright asked for a divorce. My advice is start planning your exit. You're only 27 and trust me when I say your best years are ahead of you.

I am actually aspiring to be a family attorney that advocates for men in this lopsided system. Also, I hope you're using an attorney because based on your apparent intellect you're going to need all the help you can get.
/r/Divorce_Men29/10/21 02:56 PM

I'm only a law school student, but this is a false analogy. If you're children were taken from you by the government and never seen again you would certainly have a case, but the government hasn't taken your children. Based on the article it appears the administration is trying to get ahead of this as if these cases go to trial it could cost much more.

I don’t know if she’ll “regret it” but she’ll definitely come back to you sooner or later, they always do. It generally happens after whoever she’s sleeping with disses her hard, or she just gets burnt out of the harsh reality that is the dating game and gets lonely. But by then you either won’t give a shit, or if you do reconcile it’ll more than likely collapse again anyway. Regardless you need to get on with your life. Start improving yourself and show no weakness nor despair. You need to unde…

You’re not “getting her back” no matter what you do, as once a woman has decided she doesn’t want you it’s over 99% of the time. However, if you insist on clinging to that 1% you do not go on the trip. You start engaging in divorce proceedings and you don’t pussy foot around. You start getting on with your life and start GOING YOUR OWN DIRECTION. This will trigger a sense of loss in her and she may try to salvage things, but understand it’s probably over anyway as reconciliation will be temporar…

What's peace of mind worth to you? Bill Burr has a bit about a single guy with no money who sleeps on a futon, but has the freedom to do whatever the fuck he feels like doing that day versus a guy sleeping in his big bed, in his big house, but has to wake up next to someone he can't fucking stand and his decisions are dependent on her approval. The joke is about who's really better off. Seems like a no brainier to me.
