Work is my main limitation - my hours are unpredictable and generally intense. My free time is taken by things that are easy to reschedule - drinks with friends, gym time, working on my music, dining out, and so forth. I am happy to reschedule those things, unless I had concrete plans with friends beyond usual bar outings, because girls I am interested in become a priority. Sex is a better use of my time than just about any alternative.

The nature vs. nurture discussion is also not a true false dichotomy. But at least that one proposes only two options for causality. My question at most asks if one factor causes a certain outcome, for some people, anecdotally based on personal experiences, as opposed to any other combination of conceivable factors. We're getting into the weeds here but you're not correct.

It's telling that you don't bother to explain why you think it is one.

No it isn't.

Game vs. everything else is not a dichotomy, and if it were, it wouldn't be false.

I don't think RSD instructors get laid by hotties all the time. I think that's part of their sales pitch. If you read seminar reviews, it sounds like they have no advantage over anyone else who goes to clubs frequently. The only evidence we have to compare is their own self-interested videos and the reviews of students. I put more stock in the latter.

My dude, one night stands are not my goal at all. I dated a legit 9 girl for four years and have had some success since. My goal is to find another one to have a long fulfilling relationship with. I was just getting at whether success is a result of "game" or other factors.

You're right, good points. Thanks.

This comes off a little bit like an indirect (passive aggressive) witch hunt. Why else would you phrase this as a yes/no question? I phrased it that way because I'm asking something specific. This isn't a deposition. You can answer it yes/no, or expand, whatever. There's no "gotcha" admission I'm going for here. I agree that the main idea here is simply socializing. Of course the more social guy is going to have better success than the socially awkward guy. I recognize that the community, by and…

I know how you feel. I have legitimately no interest in hooking up with someone that I don't think I would want to date afterward. It's not that I want to get into a long term thing right away, I just want the potential. It's weird. But, falling in love with someone before you've even sealed the deal? That's probably not good.

People say lifting for girls is wrong. I do not agree. I got into lifting because I wanted better success with girls. Better success with girls would make me happier. I fail to see how that is different than lifting for myself, just with a different motivation. Also, if you are committing to lifting enough to get noticeable results, you won't be able to help but become addicted to it. So whatever your initial motivation is, it will end up being a habit that will just feel bad to break.

I always go for a kiss on a first date unless there are clear signals that it is going to be poorly received. I assume she's going to be into it, and it usually works out well. If she isn't down, you have better information, and so does she.

My advice is to not get complacent. Don't ease up the things that you would keep on point at the beginning. Shower when you get up on Saturday, continue to look sharp. Try to keep coming up with fun plans. After a few years, I got a little complacent. The small rejections added up and poisoned it.

I'm not sure where I picked it up, but what I will sometimes do is pretend that I am watching a first-person movie of someone doing the approach. So I am just sort of along for the ride of how the interaction goes. Sort of hard to describe but it makes it seem like the interaction/reaction is less about you and just more about entertainment.

Deciding I would start going to the gym regularly was the single best decision I have ever made and it continues to pay off every day of my life. It legitimately feels like I started a new life. Can't remember how I even thought before then.

This is probably unsatisfying, but the answer is to just do it a lot of times. If you kiss a lot, you won't "kiss bad or screwup." I now always go for a kiss on every date, and I don't hesitate anymore. That's the honest truth. If I get rejected, it's never a big deal - always just a cheek turn or something. You just have to go for it over and over and over again, like any other skill or practice that you want to make a habit.

If you're me yesterday, you go totally silent for a few seconds and torpedo the shit out of the interaction. "I'd like to take you out for a drink this week" "Well, I'm not 21" .... .... "oh........fuck"

I gotcha. Re: your question - I don't know if most think it's weird. I know for sure based on reactions that some do. Others have thought it was charming/funny/reacted positively in some other way. Try not to care if they think it's weird - some definitely will, some won't, you just have to roll the dice a lot.

They reject you by not giving numbers? Usually for me the girl will give the number and just not text back. In my experience, girls a little older and out of college respond better than college age. Results may vary.

This. Focusing too much on "oh shit tonight is the night I need to flirt with girls I need to have some success" too often leads to me going home pissed off. The nights when I just think "this is going to be a fun night out with my friends" I end up having a better time and, on average, better success with girls.

Right - thats my point. Quit now if you want things to stay the same.

In my experience, it does nothing for your game directly. Being relatively successful probably helps my game indirectly through a self-esteem boost, but no girl is going to be attracted to you simply because you make $120k - trust me. It can be icing on the cake or a nice plus for girls to discover after they are already interested.

Yeah better stop rolling the dice and make sure nothing happens.

Why on earth would you want to swipe right on every girl on tinder? And what could that possibly have to do with getting dates?

I simply do not care how the other guy feels about it. I won't bother to worry about how it would make me feel. He is not my friend. He is attempting to flirt with my girlfriend, and I'm going to get protective. Your response indicates to me that you have not actually had someone hit on your girlfriend. Why would you respect him? Yeah I don't blame him, so I'm not going to try to fight the guy or get loud about it, but I'm also not about to let it continue for a second longer than it has to. It'…

I do not think the protective tough guy is insecure. Some girls really like seeing you be protective of them in a physical way. When this would happen with my last gf, I wouldn't get loud or angry, but I would physically get in between the two of them and ask the guy "can I help you with something?" That always ended it.

Biglaw dude here too. "In the meantime, you will have zero quality of life. There's nothing impressive about that, to be honest." My quality of life has been great to be honest. Yeah it can be a bit of a grind, but lawyers complain about it so, so much more than our banking counterparts who also work miserable hours (worse, in my experience). I agree with not getting caught up in the prestige treadmill. Do your best, fuck the rest.
