I assumed this one girl was attracted, and it turned out that she was.

Most definitely. Confidence kills and if not, obviously she has something going on that makes her think otherwise. You have to believe that what your offering is attractive or else what's the point.

I always go for a kiss on a first date unless there are clear signals that it is going to be poorly received. I assume she's going to be into it, and it usually works out well. If she isn't down, you have better information, and so does she.
