More excuses. You are an alcoholic. The good news is there are ways to quit when you are actually willing to do the work.

What things have been insane that you had control over? The rest of what you wrote is irrelevant. Did you get a rx for Sinclair method? You are not seemingly the type of person who will be able to successfully "cut back."

This is a great 1st OYS. Next time I would suggest journaling OYS #2 as a rough draft a few days before you publish. Then sleep on it, return and bold the parts that explain what you did and did not do. Leave the rest of the fluff for your own introspection. This will help keep you on target. Your lifts are great and progress outstanding there, as you've identified. As for your sex drive, notwithstanding your wife, are you genuinely attracted to other women, does the look or smell of any get you…

I've also been dealing with the baby waking and interrupting sex. Instant immersion killer. I've tried to power through it but it's no fun for anyone. I realized I have to just call it, accept sex is over, then reassess if the baby ever gets back to sleep. In trying to power through or trying to get back into it after getting the baby down, I've seen rapid shifts in how I'm treated during sex. I used to see my wife telling me "no" during sex, or being distracted, or any other shitty behavior tha…

It’s not a struggle per se. Just you making poor choices. What did you end up doing about it?

Dude. You are 43 and can’t handle liquor and have to hide it from yourself. That’s the bad news. Good news is there are lots of better ways to quit instead acting like it’s 1953. If 12 steps aren’t your thing there is church, smart recovery, etc. if those don’t work then Google Sinclair Method and find an online doc. If you need more ideas feel free to DM me.

Meds were very helpful for me as well. Anyone is going to improve their focus immensely with amphetamines. I’ve also tried CBT and all kinds of other things. The point here is it’s a false path at for OP on his journey. His time would be much better spent elsewhere IMO.

Right, cause you know me well from two posts on the internet. I don’t see you going very far at the current pace because you’re missing the point of my reply entirely which is you are spending your time arguing and DEERing with me while you claim ADHD affects your “frame” and causes issues with dealing with your wife. Your time would be better spent focusing on things you can control and are battle tested for significantly improving your life quickly, instead of these false narratives you’ve coo…

I was diagnosed at age 5 and medicated for it heavily from age 5-15. I would implore you to explain to me the mechanics of how it works or what it actually is or does within the brain. Because even the “experts” only have a hypothesis at this point. There is nothing dangerous about telling someone to ignore the diagnosis and work on other methods of improving focus.
/r/MarriedRedPill28/06/23 06:13 PM

Sounds like more mind games and excuses. You’re going to get much more traction from meditation, lifting, etc than from anything involving this “diagnosis” they are trying to sell you. More importantly though, why are you even wasting time on this venture? What’s the end goal? What’s the real problem or symptoms you are trying to address here? Your post is riddled with the answers to that but I’ll let you try and figure it out.

ADHD/ADD whatever is not real. It’s another crutch people use because they are too lazy to focus. Ideally learn to focus without the meds. This is likely another pointless side quest for you. Lifting and challenging yourself in all areas of your life will easily solve 95% of your issues.

False. Once your residency is met hire a different attorney. If they can’t file you within one week fire them. And sole custody is unlikely unless your wife has no interest in kids and is ok with paying a huge child support order every month. DM me if you want to talk more.

It will be what they call “her lost weekend.” Seriously though OP if you have more specifics or looking for feedback on filing let us know. That is the only viable route I see IMO.

Glad to hear it. I noticed also with my diet and focus with what I learned last time I’m inviting much quicker than I thought. I think I might need to shore up my protein and run my PPL six days though to hit each lift twice/week to get maximum results. Thanks for the note.

OYS Year #2, Entry #1 . Brief recap: 39, married, (4) kids. Completed one year of OYS from May 2021 to May 2022, made progress I was proud of but still far off from where I wanted to be/become. After that I allowed myself to lose focus and regressed in some areas, mostly with wife and fitness. Looking to return to a higher level of self-accountability and focus more productively on blind spots, ego and mission work. Lifting: stopped lifting/gym entirely in the fall of 2022. Started again (6) wee…

Yeah exactly. It was over a month until last week. I was stressed and tired and didn’t own my emotions and laid out a bunch of shit I didn’t like that she was doing. However, I wasn’t angry or needy about it. Just stated x,y,z sort of matter of factly. Interestingly she bemoaned that I just need to get slobbed on and when she came back home she made good on her offer. Social : Started going to Walmart at 10pm once a week for past 4 weeks with sole purpose of starting convo with a stranger. I basically approach 2 people within 10 min and then leave. OYS 40? Last post two months ago. 15 months in. Been a great two months in a few areas. Career: continued to interview over the summer. Negotiated an offer to my satisfaction and accepted a new position. Old me would have been happy just to have the offer. This time I did the market research and networked around to figure out what I felt I was worth, objectively, and thought about how that sat with me. This resulted in a higher ask which was easily met. I’ve now nearly doubled my salary in 2 yea…

I have, and have always had, strong opinions on what I want with our house. Then make that your decision, not your "thoughts" or "opinions." Who cares what anyone else in the house wants. I don't care if we do or don't do a sunroom. Who's paying for it? I'm leaning toward you should care one way or the other. If you don't want it, don't do it. If you do, do it b/c YOU want it. Anyways, are you still jerking off and eating like you are staring in Super Size Me? Hitting your objectives is 95% of t…

This is all fine. I think you should become more comfortable with letting her make decisions she's says she's not happy with. And this is why I think guys have to get completely divorced from how their wife thinks/feels. (I still haven't completely) I followed this suggestion through the last two weeks. Your are absolutely right. Women love their indignation. Don't rob that from her. Even if she was married to George Clooney and had a half dozen full time nanny's she'd still be like. "Oh George,…

Yes. I've seen you reminding others of this recently as well: Don't get get stuck in a cycle of improvement leading ultimately nowhere with your marriage. It's valid in my case. I've also thought about the idea of the "container" or woman as my "creation." And at the end of the day that seems like bullshit to me in allot of ways. You can't create a woman anymore than you can completely mold anyone. Sure, you can set the tone for the dynamic, what's acceptable, how you will be treated, etc. But I…

A&A her complaints away and they’re gone. Yeah this has been key the last two months. She was masking them as comfort requests (mixed shit/comfort) but I finally saw through that and simply ignore or AA, keeping the mood light and fun. What if you took the kids for a day? I remember how I used to describe it: “great”. “Easy”. Yeah, it's actually easier sometimes with her gone since they're not nagging and stressing her out which keeps the mood of the house light and fun. Take away the guilt and …

But I was never really a masculine figure like MRP has framed. What does this mean for you? Because MRP is not a religion. Your definition of such has to matter to you, for you, by you. Likewise, re. all this shit with your dad and you who think you are and all this.....doesn't matter anymore. Pretend you don't have a past. Now what? What matters? Thanks for weighing in. No way dude. Do not ever fall for this. Her life as a sahm is fucking awesome. And if she doesn't like it, she should get a job and you guys should hire some hot, part time, college girl babysitters. Is it though? Personally I wouldn't not want to be home with (4) kids with no help. SO I see that has objectively harder than pushing paper all day 5 hours or less like i do now. Man. You have been really generous with excellent advice lately. Reading UM now. That breakdown was really helpful. However, I also did agree with myself that after that year I would either shit or get off the pot. So many guys here like u/usefulwalk4 and u/redside_up end up in endless fucking purgatory. I'm dealing with this now. I don't know what I want out of my marriage other than a certain "desire" or energy from my wife that is currently missing. But objectively she's overwhelmed with (4) kids while I'm gone 8-5 making her life difficult. But do I take that all away from her (hire out) and if so, why? I…

They did leave that behind. But they didn't leave it behind in hopes of US interpreting it to have merit. We were the ones who are giving it merit. WE defined it as his legacy. But he did not INTEND it to be something we give definition or merit to. Yes, I see the distinction and agree. This has given me something to revaluate. Why am I so confused with leaving something tangible behind/what am I afraid of? I always thought there was more to life than what I am doing now. But that "more" and "wh…

Just being a pussy with the raw emotions. It's understandable to feel angry/sad/etc. But your mind controls your thoughts which control your emotions. Say that over to yourself again and again. The term "rational male" exists for a reason. You need to get out of your fucking head! To do this some guys lift, some mediate, some pursue pleasure. But if you cant control your emotions you will be a slave to them. Look if YOU want your marriage to be done - which if she's talking to/f'ing other men, I…

Stop being lukewarm. Make a f'n choice and stick with it. It might be the wrong one, it might not. But decisions/actions = leadership and moving forward. The masculine makes a decision, it doesn’t partake in analysis paralysis.

What? So you're DEERing yourself into overpaying on a house so your kid can possibly make more friends his age based on the theory that proximity will lead to this? I bet all my bitcoin on this probably being your wife's idea. There is also such a thing as your kids running your life just like your wife. Think about it. I think you need to be careful with endlessly deconstructing your thoughts and identity. 100%. You already know who you are: you’re the fat, weak guy, ruminating over a pizza about injecting self discipline intramuscularly and staring into it. If you’ve got a better idea about who you are then by all means “do” it. Haha I mean I've got some extra belly fat but not overweight. Weak? IDK I think my lifts were ok for one year of lifting. What does this mean? Does this mean you went to lift the weight and failed? At every weight? Down to the little 5lbs? Or that you felt blah and chose not to workout?IMO at 38 unless you're doing about 45min to an hour of cardio a day, you are going to gain weight at 3000 calories. Most guys cut with 2000-2500max. You are allowed not to want wife and kids and act accordingly even if you already had them. Absolutely. But it's the "why" I don't have an answer for. And I hesitate to cast it all away because I would be in the same boat just unmarried. I'd maintain weight, run out two cycles of gslp. May want to explore your own path to a larger purpose. I've thought about this at length. It was initially material, leaving behind something tangible of "value." But now Im not so sure. They are not trying to teach you anything. They're looking for leadership. I see why because your OYS reads like a ruddersless ship at sea. I think the utilitarian approach to thinking about your wife, e.g. the "force multiplier" as you put it, is something that might be helpful further down the line. But for now, I think you'll get more investing in removing "her" from your vocabulary/thoughts. but what I don't want to do is LARP these alpha traits without even realizing that I'm LARPing Too much time conceptualizing something that you don't need to worry about. OYS #39: 38, 6’2, 200lbs, kids, married. Lifting/Diet: 1RM (DL 315, BP 225, SQ 265). Lifted two-three times in the last few weeks. Put together a PPL program from information I found on the web. But then I got a little too busy and my wife turned into a harpy, rancid bitch. I grew really frustrated because in a moment where I could have used some support and help, my force multiplier turned into a detractor. She wasn’t a force multiplier at all when it wasn’t convenient or easy for her. I didn’t have sex for a week and a half and had to suddenly go back to I'm not sure what a force multiplier is. That post was gold. I've always struggled with remaining invested to a degree but also indifferent. They are either/or propositions for me. And IMO women can smell the difference. Thus, something I'm struggling with in my current marriage, i.e. avoiding any sort of oneities with my wife vs being invested in her through my own point of origin while also being able to walk away at any point. This is a great analysis of why lifting matters. I'll add that lifting, and success therein, gives you a mental model you can then (hopefully) transpose onto other areas and issues you are dealing with in your life. If you are consistent and put in real effort, it will give you a personal roadmap and barometer of personal success from within that you can take with you in addressing the other failures currently in front of you. That's because the trials and tribulations you will go through just p…

u/oobertas is spot on. I think you will get more out of exploring "why" you are asking her to make you a sandwich then you will with the "why" you are receiving eye rolls. Yes, you are articulating it well and making strides. What you are explaining are well thought out progressive changes both in thought and action. What I was getting at is a situation where one is using these mental exercises to avoid initiating at all, which is sometimes seen and done. E.g. "I'm only going to initiate when I feel like doing it and it's authentic [insert other bs excuse here]." Clearly from your explanation of just this past week alone, that is not you.

This past week I tried to view my daily interactions with my wife in this way. Nothing I’m doing is a tactic to control her behaviors in order to satisfy my needs. It’s just how I want my behavior to be when I’m with her. The success isn’t seen in the number of times I “score” but rather in how satisfied I am in how I behave naturally on a regular basis. Man, you start making progress and then every few weeks take a step back. It's painful to watch likely because it's so familiar (I've been there). One thing that sticks out: you're still way too concerned about MRP and what your wife thinks/feels/is doing. But you knew that right? So what should you do about it? I don't have an easy answer, it's for you to figure out. But you've obviously made progress in areas such as lifting, hobbies, social, etc. So might I suggest you promote those areas to …

This whole thing was a bit cringey to read and I loathe the treatment of your "plate" you describe herein. Should've just been a field report at TRP on how to treat a chick like shit. First, mate guarding this plate? C'mon man, you are far enough along to know better, right? You then start purposefully treating her like shit, why? Because your ego was bruised, you have scarcity mentality, and your butthurt she's f'ing other guys. Oh yeah, like, your supposed to f' whoever you want but your plate…

Science behind it says women are often higher libido during that week. Even more proof that she just doesn’t want to fuck YOU if she’s doubling down on rejections during that time. Who cares tho as OP correctly pointed out. You wanna fuck that week then do it. What’s the worst she could do, say no? Are you really that scared of what she thinks? Yeah of course you are why did I even ask. Precisely why she doesn’t get wet for you; too worried about what she and everyone else thinks.

You're navigating very closely to rocky shores of making it your job, but I'm sure you know that. I've definitely improved myself, but ultimately I understand that I need to become a legit Captain here. First time happened in the middle of last week. I signed up for a work volleyball league for 6 weeks without telling my wife, which would make me absent when we pick up our kids in the evening for about 2 hours on Wednesdays for 6 weeks in early summer. For context, I have been doing BJJ weekly with about an hour absence at night which motivated my wife to do a girls dinner that has become almost weekly and takes the whole night. I told her about it and now realized I likely DEER-ed a lot instea…

That's a thought. I think it's more me being pissed and ego hurt that she isnt on board with my fucktard program I came up with. Me or the highway. Instead of treating her like a human being I treated her like something to be dealt with.

Exactly. Ego butthurt over what my kids are doing. Mad they aren't falling in line with my dipshit program. Are you sure this isn't a trap to allow your oneitis to flourish? The whole point of platting is to explore and build OI in this area of your life. This is never more true than when exiting a long term relationship. I don’t really have to do anything except show up. So it's easy then? It doesnt seem like the stay plan is the go plan here. I agree completely. I'm not living OI from the "other person" in my life. I've allowed the idea of keeping a home to distract me from my mission and exploring new interests and expanding my social life. Let's just get one thing out of the way first: If you come at a woman emotionally charged and say "divorce"...its more likely she will reconsider than if you come at her logically and say "divorce". I did, however, tell her what specific days to book the hotel based on my work schedule after she asked me if it was okay for us to go since her sister sent her the Groupon in the first place. As much as I’ve enjoyed your sexcapades (as a married man with 4 kids who hasn’t spun plates since Obama was in office) you need to shift your focus from this exciting chapter of flavors of the world to YOU. That was my point that this could benefit greatly form a re-working and editing down to the core of what you learned. There were several useful points made but were surrounded by filler that could have been removed without affecting the substance of the post. Just my opinion which shouldn't matter unless you're looking for feedback.

I nominate this post to a newly created play pen sub titled “tellMRP” for such rants. Tell us you’re a MRP stud without telling us your a stud. OP, did you read back to yourself what you wrote before posting? Did you sleep on it a few days before returning to then edit this manifesto?

I see it clearly now. Still 100% in what she's doing, thinking, etc. I don't have the skill yet to lead from a place of strength so I'm dialing back to focus on self improvement the next few months.

You're right and I should've had the conversation with her before I decided to do what I did. That would've been better leadership. Comfort tests - yeah I thought I understood them but realized the last few weeks I didn't, at least not in how they played out in my house. So I've been reviewing the posts again the past few days. And agreed that I shouldn't not be lecturing her on not making dinner. She either does it bc she wants to from a place of desire or she would be doing it so I don't compl…

The position as advertised for her is not worth it. My stability is lacking and I'm not creating a safe place or consistent leadership for her to desire. I'm going to focus on myself and not barking orders and arbitrarily undermining her from here on.
/r/askMRP15/02/22 08:15 PM

That's a huge jump. I'm going to hold off until my one year (May) and see how I feel after my lifts have had a full year to develop. I appreciate the input.

I'm not sure I do want her around but I also don't have my shit 100% where it needs to be so need to focus on that before I do anything stupid.
/r/askMRP15/02/22 08:12 PM
1

Yeah, pretty demoralizing from her POV. I see it now, that I was not acting like someone she would lovingly follow. I confirmed your conclusion this week and decided I need to to simply stop telling her shit and trying to lead her from a poor position that lacks strength and congruency. Focusing on myself and keeping peace around the house (within boundaries of course) is what I'll be doing.
/r/askMRP15/02/22 08:11 PM

That's a great way too look at it. Thanks again.
/r/askMRP15/02/22 08:09 PM

Agreed. I need to stop thinking so much about her getting on board and just do the mission without regard to if she's on board or not.
/r/askMRP15/02/22 08:04 PM

I honestly don't recall who actually set the boundary but we both understood it was in effect. I concluded I should've gotten on the same page with her before changing the boundary myself.

This reply was hugely beneficial. What you are saying hurts but is 100% true. I am one of those micromanaging assholes. And I'm grateful for the amount of information in this succinct reply. I've already started watching the last few days to make sure I'm consistent with my wife on how these issues are handled. Incidentally, just as you pointed out attraction has been suffering with the likely cause being my shitty leadership style, i.e. overbearing and disdainful.

Sounds about where I'm at. How long have you been at this? I'm still uncovering massive contracts and beyond frustrated with them not coming to fruition or her "lining up to my wants." And like you, I concluded sometime last week that I need to just build out a complete life - like I'm single - and a life that makes me happy with or without her. Then, if I'm at a point that I feel I've worked hard enough on that life for me and it's where I want it to be (with or without her) and she's still not…

Really good points. I was worried when I circled back with her and tried to lead the discussion by talking about it again that I was wasting my time and rewarding her bad behavior. Scared of divorce? I act as though I'm not often. But it really happening? I don't know. Great Q. She threatens it at least once a week. My response is usually, "you're welcome to do that, I'm not helping you find an attorney, you'll need to do that on your own." If she continues past that, which is rare as she usuall…

This. Ask yourself why you bought all that shit? Because society said you should, e.g. happy wife happy life bs? Does she even like it? More importantly, do you like doing it? What is it you want to do, if anything, to celebrate this joyous hallmark holiday? If nothing, do that. And when she asks why you didn't do shit for the date, you can proudly say "I didn't feel like doing anything."

Def. a covert contract still on improving my life vs where she's at. And I thought something about my SMV similar to what you mention this morning. Basically, if what I'm doing is not working that my SMV isn't high enough. But I also see that as, again, the same contract. And true that she's calling my bluffs, which I hadn't really seen before. Because if I call her out on shit I want her to do that she's not doing, she simply can say "so what" and what do I do? Continue on just like I have in t…

No I don't agree to the extent she runs my life. I do nearly anything I want and she frequently voices her concern about me doing whatever I want and I nearly never ask her input on anything I do or plan. I just do it. ButI care (maybe too much) about what she thinks to the extent that I want her to get on my path and support my mission 100% with her full ability to bring value to my marriage. And you are correct that I thought way too much about it after it occurred and from her POV.
/r/askMRP11/02/22 06:58 PM
1

I don't disagree with what your saying. But I differ in that I'm looking for a rope to hand to my wife instead of being a stone cold ass 100% of the time. I'm not someone that has an issue being a dick head or doing whatever I want. That's not my issue in my marriage. The opposite actually to some degree. But the point you make is valid to the extent I counted to stew on all of this and what she was thinking far after it occurred.

I didn't miss this entirely. I thought about that earlier today, exactly what you said. With him I've been seeing so much improvement that I wanted to point it out in way that made sense to him and that he would appreciate. But like you said, I could've done it in a different way and avoided the issue entirely.

Sure, I've seen that simple advice recc around her before, "treat her like a teenager, etc." But I'm looking for real insight. I don't agree that what you are suggesting would have at all been helpful. In certain other situations, e.g her adult tantrums, sure, it works great.

I don't follow your input at all. My last sentence was about being more flexible and welcoming input as leader of my family. I don't see how I was kissing her ass. I know the difference when my wife is being unreasonable or shit testing vs genuinely pleading to be involved on a decision that's important to her. I could be an inflexible dick about everything but that would not bring anyone on board with my path.

I seek the same thing as everyone else here Which is what? Who cares why everyone else is here. Why are YOU here? Trust me, it matters. What are your stated goals? This post reads like a journal entry, random thoughts with little on what you actually did this past week. For example, how many times did you lift? How many times did you try and smash your wife?
/r/MarriedRedPill09/02/22 04:02 PM
1

I'm not lifting more than (4) days because I lift on a program. But I think your point is valid that I could be doing something to exert and reset on the off days. I'm making excuses for why I feel the way I do that don't originate with me. Beyond that, your 100% on that I'm certainly giving more from a lack of abundance and still expecting outcomes. Which has led to fatigue. I'm going to continue to hone in on my wants and desires, while working to give from a place of not expectations. When I …

Dood - this reads like a f’ing white paper. You need to get out of your head. First step for that is to LIFT A REAL WEIGHT. Until you cry. Then do that 4 days of each week. I can tell you are a binary computer thinking type. So your focus should not be on more of what has not worked for you (over analyzing). These are great Q's and deep down I anticipated some of this. 1- I am upset with a lack of desire from her and other women. That's an ego issue as well as it is a contract I still haven't gotten rid of, "I'm attractive (or so I think) so they should throw them selves at me." I'm embellishing a bit but that's how the 12 year old in me feels. I have huge room for improvement in what comes out of my mouth, how I act, and how I "feel" around others. I agree. It does not sound like much. But after prioritizing my other work (health/career/family/social) it’s what I’ve decided I can feasibly begin with. But maybe you have a better suggestion for time management, specific techniques, etc. to organize my priorities more effectively. I see atomic habits tossed around here often and would appreciate other like suggestions. Otherwise, I’m going to think more about it in terms of how important is it. If it’s paramount, then I should be able to find…

Your vision and some of your goals are pretty vague with no indication of how you are going to accomplish them. I recognize this because I am the same way. First, good on you for quitting alcohol if that was an issue. Now take the same approach to smoking and managing your family's finances. Why put off for tomorrow what you can accomplish today? Why not just have conversation with your wife about you taking over the finances? Like, today when you get off work. Make a list of shit that needs to …

This was pretty helpful for me. I’m at one of the early stages mentioned here and it’s helped me rethink my outlook on some things. My takeaway was: picture the desired end result, lead by example toward it using positive reinforcement (demonstrating true leadership), then effectively hand off the tasks that serve the end. I intend to use this going forward. Cheers.

You're right, I didn't see that until now. That if I do my MAP then she will surely f' me. But what is the end goal of all of this? My mission. That’s a great question. I don’t know the answer yet, because what I always liked about her was the validation she brought to my life. I tried to take that approach as well but I had billables to meet and couldn't be picky about my cases or work. YMMV. Our state has a new statute that allows one atty to serve as a neutral mediator/drafter for both parties. That way they both spend a limited amount that is shared. If any part of the agreement goes contested then the drafter withdraws and the parties have to retain separate counsel or go pro se.
/r/MarriedRedPill01/10/21 03:22 PM
2

I'm not sure where you practice but in my state pro se divorces have been trending upwards for years and now represent 2/3+ of all divorces here. Likewise, most cases involving uncontested with limited assets are better served by a neutral drafter/scrivener if your state/county allow it. The small percentage of highly contested, complex, or high net worth cases will always have attys but I maintain that the vast majority need not. And in those cases that do require attys, most of the time I felt…

Just saying “I want to fuck” is typically not going to work. Trust me I’ve tried all this shit. I am trying to change and if you have any specific feedback on better ways to parent and provide the stability and love they need in a way that is not based in fear or authority I would appreciate your further input.

Absolutely spot on. I need to focus on destroying my ego which is serving no purpose in my life other than harming others and myself. This was helpful pointing that out to me so that I can shift my work internally from the flawed focus of sex and power to love and support.

haha right yes true. I am still a bitch and find myself scared of her even if only inside. What I'm really unsure of though is how to not reward the bad behavior, like I can't sulk and immediately leave, I feel like I need to remain calm and positive but that shit is tough when her attitude is shit and I just want to get away from her. It's even more difficult if she starts saying disrespectful shit. I'm finding some success (internally) with just leaving at a time when it does not arouse suspic…

Thanks and that is helpful. I'm definitely struggling with rewarding good behavior. Not sure how to do that in a way that does not come off as disingenuous or condescending.

Still slacking on reading. This past week was very busy and I slacked on planning in my life overall which led to no time for OYS on time. I also left for a family vacation late because of work slacking on my part and poor planning with the family. Decided to post late instead of skipping OYS all together. Lifting: …

I thought about this for a few hours today and you are absolutely correct. I think my focus on a therapist was misguided, I think you have properly challenged me to look in myself and do the extra work I need to do, not rely on someone else to listen to me victim puke for an hour per week. I really appreciate this direct feedback.

You raise a great point and this negative self focus has been a weight behind me for too long. I really appreciate the direct feedback. As far as therapy, I'm not sure I follow you. Could you explain?

You still remind me of my outlook, overthinking the whole thing. Do you have a problem with alcohol or not? You know the answer. If so, how is anything but abstinence not a run around to the goal? Why are you afraid of not drinking? Are you worried about what your social circle will think? I was. I don't care anymore and it is one of the most liberating feelings ever.

Sinclair with Naltrexone worked for me for about three weeks. Then I was back to business as usual even with the pill. YMMV. I finally quit cold with therapy. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk more.

OYS #6 Stats: 37, Married 5 years, (4) kids under 7. Sidebar: NMMNG, MMSLP, WISNIFG, MAP, TRM (book), TWOTSM, The Game (reading), Sidebar Posts (reading). TRM was a mind-blowing book. The Game has been amazing so far, more of a coming-of-age novel (like Huck Finn, The Great Gatsby) while also expertly detailing a first person account of the PUA community of the early 00’s and the history of it all before #meetoo blew it all to shit. Something of a much-needed break of entertainment from the conc…

Amen. Models has a good chapter on this. Men need to dress up instead of down much like the old days or if you go to Europe or Latin America, many men and women still do. They dress their roles, women also much more genuinely feminine.
