Have I just lost my gf? probably (who cares, she wasn't yours anyhow) Was my approach to TRP state of mind correct? not really. You poked your know-it-all nose in but didn't finish the job. If you had to be the hero and show her how to buy the car, you should have been available by phone if she had questions. You created a dependency situation and then abandoned the person. Shit move. Next time just let her buy whatever car, however she wants. However, I don't see how I could've handled it diffe…

What's Owning Me Shit Test Failed a shit test somewhat on the weekend and documented it on MRP. Snapped at my wife and issued a bit of a stinger. When I think of me in proper form, something like that would have washed right off and I would have chuckled as she tried testing me. Will fix that. Work Normally this wouldn't appear in the part owning me but work, lately, is getting out in front of me. Too many things to accomplish and a cluttered mind preventing me from tackling them properly. That'…

It's been handled and I agree, should never have gotten to that point. That's why I posted, trying to show the missteps along with the wins. I enjoy feedback on both

She's usually pretty good, shit testing right in the PMS kill zone. Above everything else, I find her to be really respectful. That's why a disrespectful comment caught me off guard. Especially in front of the kids. I like your comment about Or rather than And. I can end this way by not engaging. Thanks. if you smell pussy, you should close your legs...

If a good life was easy, everyone would have one. Stay of the meds and cut down on the complexity in your life. With each bit of anxiety, your brain is crying out for a coping path. Break from the plate. This is not for moral reasons, I don't care if you fuck other women but a plate with a chip in it isn't a plate anyone should eat off. That's an easy one to bring down your complexities.

I'm not really here nor there about breaking up. I am fond of her, but I'd rather break up before we're married. I can watch for red flags, but we're getting married in November. Don't wanna wait too long. Really poorly written. A couple of things. Using a throwaway is a way to tell us that you're here for a quick bit of advice and then you're fucking off. Create an MRP account and use it, commit to being a better man. I would have joked with her and said a hyphenated name or title that comes to…
/r/askMRP22/02/17 03:24 PM

Agreed most of the time. If she's an established professional, I could see her wanting to keep her name. A doctor, for instance, will usually keep their last name in my country Before we get to that, however, I want to see a better post. If a guy can't articulate what he wants to us, it's unlikely he can say it to her.
/r/askMRP22/02/17 01:59 PM

throwaway obviously fuck that's annoying. I'm going out on a limb and guessing English is your second language. Do you want her to have a hyphenated last name? You haven't really said what you want. Tell us what you want and maybe we can help you.

Do you have a timetable on your business? Maybe she sees something you don't, that your startups is stalled. Aside from her being influenced by social media, I don't think she's wrong. The two of you want something different out of life. Only one of you is willing to say something about it. When I've started businesses in the past, when they're progressing well, my wife can tell, easily tell, from how I conduct myself. Maybe she sees this is how life is going to be and that you're delusional abo…

Nobody needs a kick in the nuts. Stop being lazy and asking us to fix you. You know what you need to do, go do that. You're getting fit? great. Go be interesting, pursue some sort of hobby that interests you. When your wife is also being interesting, take her out. Show her a good time. When she's loafing about being a scroll addict on instagram, ignore her.

This isn't very good. On this chart, there is one outcome, divorce. According to this, if you've done everything right and are fun and happy to be around, it's time to divorce. By your logic, it makes more sense to divorce out of the gate. There is no other outcome.

Mark my words, you tell a guy this new with this big a hag at home to man up, he's going Rambo. I guarantee it. It'll be a shit show. There is no reason he can't be working on himself while making himself somewhat available to listen to her crow for 5 minutes. In all but kids under the age of two would I agree with you, 100%. Kids fuck things up.

that's an awesome video. look, right now our man is in triage mode without any clue as to what he's dealing with. you lioness in the wild is stretching what I was trying to say (hopefully so you could post that video, again, that was awesome). A guy new to MRP, with a wild woman and 2 babes at home, is likely to do something really, really dumb. On that, I think we can agree. Rambo, in this setting, is a catastrophe waiting to happen. So ease her off of the text by listening to her for a bit. Ge…

This probably won't be popular. But you're living with a wild animal (woman with 2 kids under 3, SAHM) at the moment and sometimes, drastic measures need to be taken. Call her after the first anxious text of the day and just listen (or just pretend to listen). She just wants to unload. She doesn't care if you're listening or not. Let her unload for 5 minutes and then let her know you gotta go, you hope the day turns around and that you think she's doing a great job. Ignore all other non logistic…

I could see myself expanding this approach to include an event that we both enjoy (we have 4 young kids, events tend to involved a lot of planning...in this case, on my part). It's a good suggestion. I'm not saying, "so they can have their way", I'm saying this day is important to most women. If it's important to yours, don't fight it and don't act in a way you don't believe. Find some casual middle ground that you're comfortable with and move on.

I would laugh hysterically if she suggested that and remind her that I already have a mother. Your whole operation sounds shitty. Things I own Work is going well. Continue to take on the challenging projects in the office. Lucky to work on a strong, dynamic team with plenty of opportunities to learn, to grow. I continue spening time away from the home, working on my hobbies, spending time in the back country and bonding with my friends. This continues to grow, month over month. I can't think of any downside to improving your life, whatever aspect of your life requires it. At worst, you're training yourself how to conduct your affairs the next time around, or never at all. At best, you are living happily in a life that betters society through the example your family sets around others. What do you have to lose?

your ego observation is on point. I'm focusing on keeping my ego from factoring into things, it's a progression and I'm slowly moving forward there. While I know there's nothing special about most women, HB9s tend to have much better game, they defend well and they're used to guys trying to get close. An HB6, that's just not all that much of a challenge. So then I asked myself, what's the point here. Getting a number from an HB9 is more of a trophy than an HB6. At least that's how I see it. I en…

I'll think about that for a while. I don't think I mentally disengaged because I was failing. I was pretty sure I had this fish in the boat if I wanted, I just realized, I didn't want this fish. The initial attraction was also really interesting, to me. I was totally attracted to her. Well, I thought I was. This was the awakening as I think back over the past 10 years and realize I was attracted to anyone who might smile at me. This story seems pretty similar to all those IM screenshots you can …

so I posted this morning but continued to think and /u/ecrasez posted a question: What would you have done if she was a 9? And that's what I needed. I was bored because this woman was nothing special, nothing interesting and very, very easy to get attention from. It would be like getting excited about a snickers bar vs. a perfectly grilled steak. it's a good question. I'm pretty sure I would have stayed engaged, I think. The more I think about it this morning, the more I realize that this woman wasn't anything special and therefore, not really enough to keep me interested. A year ago, attention from a solid 2/10 would have made me blush. So that's my takeaway. It's pretty easy to get attention from a 6. So don't waste time doing it.

You're doing the right things for you. Reading, lifting, getting out. Nice work. Seriously. But here's the thing. Your wife is shit. You are living with someone who isn't, and may never, be on your page. My cheating wife does blow on a girl's weekend, I STFU as I hand the divorce papers to her. 100%. you ever go to a party and after wandering around for a while, discover a room where all the good stuff is happening? You're in the hall and you're about to enter that room. Keep going. You asking for (and receiving) a blowjob? You'll laugh at the idea you had to ask. She'll need it. And this if from a guy who only has one foot in the great party room. Keep going.

I can hire someone to cook and clean while I am at work And there it is, right there. A wife shouldn't measure herself by the tasks she completes but rather how well she does as your lover, as your wife, not your maid. And let's be honest, cleaning is hardly a challenge worth noting. Those are not texts to respond to. Besides, she didn't send it looking for your response. She sent it because it makes her feel special. She can do that with her mom or her friends.
/r/askMRP04/02/17 02:26 AM

I roll in from work and my wife doesn't reward me for working hard. It's my role and I gladly take it on. Sounds like she stays at home if she's cleaning all day. So she's committed to her role and that's great. You want to know how to reward her? Continue to lead her.

Agreed. Not a good strategy. But I was playing a bad hand and needed the best strategy for the situation I was in. For me, that was establishing a boundary in the event something may have happened. More importantly, an understanding on her part as to what would happen should she choose to pursue this sort of thing in the future. What would you have done?

They serve as a reference point. If she's innocent and down the road wonders what might happen should she ever decide to play around, she knows the consequence. If she's guilty, well, fuck, not much else I can do but wait to find out (it always comes out) and divorce her. I've been emotionally lifting for about 2 years on top of being in the best physical shape of my life. She's actually a good wife but if she ever wondered about greener grass, I'd be quite fine.

"Assuming I'm not totally screwing up here, how can I help her going over this phase and comfort her through the transformation?" You can't. When you're ready, she'll get over this phase juuuust fine. Pulling your wang out when you're trying to improve yourself? That ain't it. That's when you smile, give her a kiss on the cheek and tell her you won't up. And go back to lifting.

When I walked away from the conversation, I was confident that there was nothing else that could be done. She looked the same way as she did when I saw them, terrified and somewhat embarrassed. Three scenarios: She is telling the truth. Nothing in my world changes. She is lying and I find out. We get divorced. I started the conversation ONLY when I was ready to divorce her. Had she come clean, in that moment, I was filing that day. She is lying and is really, really good and hopes I never find out. She now knows that she conducted divorce worthy activities and doing so in the future (and this time getting caught) will lead to divorce. Hard stop. So taking the direct route has enabled m…

agree. be sure a steady stream of txts are sent throughout the day. It's important she understands how important she is to him. Keeping those txts coming tells her: He is thinking of her and her needs She is more important than whatever else he has on the go txt is great for that. keeps the love felt remotely and stored so she can reflect on it later. I would express my feelings of upset and really talk this thing out. Make sure she understands exactly how upset this made you, try and have her see it your way. And your one trip to the gym might actually be the cure. I've found 15 minutes on that recumbent bike really gets my juices flowing, makes me a bit of a beast. More than that and I can cramp. no worries. funny thing, a similar exchange took place about four years ago. By 2:00pm that day, I seriously couldn't take the thought of her being really upset with me, that I had somehow offended this innocent wife of mine. I left work early, drove home to apologize in person. Expecting her to just throw herself at my chivalrous self, I was crushed when she didn't really care (and in looking back, seemed not to really remember why I would be apologizing). what a fag.

I forget who said it on here a few weeks back but something to consider: She is not the gatekeeper of sex. She is the gatekeeper of sex with her. Next time you're out, flirt with someone. Remind yourself that you're not dead. Allow someone else to enjoy this new found confidence that your journey has brought you. And ignore her for almost everything outside of logistical requirements. Right now she sounds brutal, you can thank yourself for that.

Remember the first time you parallel parked a car? Seemed like, in theory, it all made sense. Keep doing what you're doing. We both know you're going to end it with this woman. So do it properly. Next time you see her, let her know it's over. Simply. You don't want the complexity and baggage she brings. She isn't someone you see yourself with long term. This is a good chance for you to see how strong your frame is. Set your watch. If ending this relationship takes longer than 3 minutes, you're doing it wrong. Good luck and nice work getting the BF% down.

sex aside, she asked if you wanted to chat and you said "sure" but actually, you didn't want to chat. You wanted to sleep. When a struggling guy like me sees the answer this easily, you know you're off point. Say what you mean.

When it is just a get-out-of-jail-free-for-bad-behavior request, or a "shitty apology" I know that's the part I was trying to avoid. I didn't recognize that she was actually looking for a bit of a safe harbor at that moment and I would have been better off being anything BUT the "I don't deserve this" responder that I was.

I think /u/thefamilyalpha has the approach here. Get this guy into your circle and not because you want to protect your wife from her own feelings. Do it because you want high value guys in your life. Worst case, it turns out the guy loves the attention from the mums and isn't interested in having another male cramp his style (in which case, he's pretty low value and basically, fuck that guy, who needs him) Best case, you have a guy you can learn from, someone you can spend quality time with awa…

I admit that I never let any of the "lesser" degree friends (acquaintances) go completely though because you never know just who might be useful to know. There's no outward acknowledgment of letting them go. We don't break up. As for never knowing who is useful down the road. Let me ask you, is maintaining a facade for the sake of future value really worth much? To me, it isn't.

The low value friends fell away as I stopped pursuing time with them and engaging in what was important to them. The friends remaining, the ones I would actively seek for time together, were the high value friends. The existing, high value, friends became the template.

There's a place between being a servent and a douce. Be there. That places nurses her back to health using strong nutrition and insisting on her getting rest. I used an inaccurate term. Getting prepped for divorce, that's the easy part. It's logistics and generally, we're all pretty good at that stuff. I'm glad your marriage is easy, mine is too. Getting to the bottom of unacceptable behaviour when you're still wasting time with things like snapchat and chatting online is, quite frankly, a significant waste of time. The cart, in this young man's life, is well before the horse. It's not a matter of saving time, it's a matter of spending it as wisely as…

Why is it half ass to accept the things you have no control over. That's what I don't get. It's one thing to be blind to it and another to accept that she's a person who will make her own choices. The imaginary problems, in life, are far more expensive than the real ones. Preparing for divorce, honestly, is marriage on easy mode. Accepting that reality while still improving is where it gets hard. You can do your best to verify and in all honesty, you'll either turn it into a mass of insecurity o…

It's not Pollyanna, it's accepting that which you, yourself can change. A woman that wants to scratch an itch is going to scratch it. You can run around d key logging g and worrying or you can focus on your own progress. Someone this new has no chance of improving themselves if their constantly stressed about the wife's phone

He feels she's messing around online so I propose she enjoys attention from other men. Could be from living so far from home but it doesn't matter. He's early in his development so calling her out, for enjoying male attention, will make him look pretty insecure and, frankly, pathetic. The heart wants what the heart wants and that's probably what hers wants. Rather than fight the tides, just be better. Be what her heart wants and not what he says her heart should want.

she's lucky to have someone that is working on rebuilding himself. Maybe she'll see that, maybe she won't. No, it's not his problem. He can make it his problem but at his current stage of improvement, I doubt it will solve anything. His goal should be to improve him and if she's around and hasn't done something stupid when that happens, she gets to stay.

I don't think you sound like a lunatic. You just sound insecure. You're not in a place where you should be worrying about shit like this. You're rebuilding you, career and body. She's lucky enough to be in the passenger seat right now. If you're spending mental and emotional energy on your wife and her phone fun, you're not working on yourself. Some women get a thrill flirting via phone. They like the simple pleasure of cyber-orbitters. Not your problem. And don't lie to yourself and us that the…

I called her and told her to leave work early and get some rest help her break this dependency but not responding. If she's sick, she doesn't need your permission to leave work. I know you want her to think that you care and that you're trying to be supportive...but it's horseshit. You want her feeling better so you can get your dick wet. Dude, you're a year or more away from getting everything you want from your wife. Stop rushing it. Keep upping your SMV and focus on nothing else. faggot

You're thinking about this with a male brain. Of course you are. Here's the thing. If a buddy told me his wife was being a cunt, I'd probably nod, knowing most wives are cunts most of the time. And I'd certainly put a no-fly zone around her. For a couple of reasons: 1) I don't think hitting on a buddy's wife is cool 2) He's made her sound shitty. Why am I telling you this? It sounds to me like you're worried about looking bad in your wife's friends eyes (for your own reasons, I don't really care…

This will surprise you or maybe it won't. You're lucky. A lot of guys on this sub are stuck trying to fix a mess and wondering if it's worth it. You, mate, aren't in that boat. You are in a spot where you can't fix things. You could lift the Earth and you wouldn't be strong enough for someone willing to tell such a lie. So many lies. Yep, she's actually doing you a favour in that she has left you with no doubts...or at least she should have. You can't honestly want to make a go of this, can you?…

I try never to think of my wife as a friend. She's my wife. You can have many friends, you can only have one wife at a time. It's a different role. You can do stuff together but she's not a friend. A friend is someone you will lean on when you're down. Someone you can trust to see you at your worst. In my world view, a true friend is faaar harder to find than a wife. And far more valuable. My true friends will always be in my life. My wife is my wife so long as it's working.

You say you're captain, that's great. The captain commands the ship but doesn't say what goes in the soup, how beds are made or any other bit of detail that keeps the ship running. Your woman wants to look better, excellent, enjoy it. Acting like an insecure fag about it will basically confirm that this ship, despite now having a captain, will never get out of port. She'll start looking. You'll then believe she wanted out before the implants when, in fact, the two acts aren't related. tldr; quit…

I feel like your best course of action is to stfu and keeping improving yourself. She asked a question that she didn't want an honest answer to. That's 100% her problem, not yours. What you probably already know (and if she knows, she likely won't accept) is everything relationship has issues, they all carry baggage. Every one of us has come back from a situation like that. guy, you asked who wrote the list. nobody is getting pulled into anyone's frame. relax. It says 5 years ago, I would have completed it as a honeydo list. I then go on to say my day and the tasks I completed had nothing to do with that mindset. It's implied.

from the post: it hit me like a diamond bullet to the forehead (props if you know where that reference is from without looking it up). 5 years ago I would have trudged through that list because: my wife wrote it up for me, a honeydo list I figured it improved my chances of getting laid that night The list I completed on the weekend had nothing to do with either of those reasons. They were tasks that needed attention, my attention. They were done because I wanted them done. c'mon man, do better.

If it were me, I'd take the financial pain of splitting the house up. Here's why: I'd want my kids to see that I have expectations that need met and if they aren't, I'll take action. I'd want them to see that I'm willing to sacrifice what I have for what I believe in. In this case, what you have is really a bit of a facade. You're trying to get the best of both worlds without any really pain involved. Which I find ironic because you're done such a great job in dropping the weight and doing the w…

ah, I thought you meant the second sentence of the post. Yeah, I was defending it, I agree. I think that might be (and I'm still determining this) the essence of managing a comfort test. I think women get a bit crazy when they're on their period. I don't want her thinking she's nuts...that won't make my life better. So letting her get a glimpse of logic, followed by a command, I figure, is the best remedy and as you said, good results.

I think you missed my point. It's refreshing to not care about her reaction. That's what it means to be indifferent. To be in someone's Frame, to me, means you'll pattern your actions to meet their expectations. Recognizing you are doing things for yourself really means nothing as it relates to her, other than having a comparison point to something in your past.

Get honest with yourself. Being honest with myself is what lead to this post. That's what an awakening is. That what it means to be enlightened. Recognizing the value of a new behavior as it it contrasts with how you used to be. That doesn't mean you're still in that mode, it means you now recognize the difference. At least that's how I view it.

The only help I can give is leading by example. I do my best to be the best man I can be. If people want to learn from that, it's in their best interest. Beyond that, it's up to them to climb out of the hole they dug. You can't put an old head on young shoulders.
