He has done through sex addiction therapy. He claims he wants only me since I am his "ideal woman" and that Single "insert his name" is different from Relationship "insert his name"...

Unfortunately I just learned this about my new bf (29m), and he had no problem admitting to being a degenerate. SMH. I’m struggling with his past honestly.

Well that's circumstantial, in previous relationships based of conversations about similar topics and/or previous relationships: it can be assumed. If you are unsure at any point, a discussion should be had. It's completely harmless to have that discussion, setting boundaries and expectations when coming into a new relationship is crucial to knowing what is acceptable with your partner. Yeah I’m not down for my guy getting all physical, flirty, and/or rubbing up on some chick at a bar. He would be kicked to the curb SO FAST.

I've been in this EXACT boat. All you do by choosing the "lesser man" is hurt yourself and detract from you fulfillment and happiness. Do everyone a favor and do what's best for you! Don't settle!

Thank you for this post, I found it very thoughtful and thought provoking. I feel at times I struggle with the same issue of working towards self improvement but falling into being the old me & habits. This really put things into perspective and now made me realize I do see a better me that is obtainable. Thank you! Thank your hubby too!

Try bringing up what you state here. Ask HIM how can you be with him if he never allows input. If he can't see things from your perspective or chooses not to see things from your perspective, that is a big red flag. There is no way to be with someone like that unless you intend to fold every time you have an issue and he challenges you. Give him a chance to rectify his actions/behavior, and if nothing changes then sadly you'll have to move on if you want to do what's in your best interest.
