Veteran here, post-service in college going for computer engineering. It's worth it. The military, if used correctly will give you a great shot at life. Join the airforce though, you will be able to get the most schooling done while in service and have the best living conditions.

Good job man, she will respect you a lot more if you identify her shit tests and shut them down. It really is a constant power struggle. I dont think the Gf/Wife/SO even know they are doing it, its just automatic for them to want to make you feel bad about yourself, or that you have affronted them in some way or another.

Funnily enough thats the exact opposite of their teaching. If you have no desire or passion, you have a clear mind and can make rational decisions for the betterment of yourself and your fellow man(or something to that extent). If a person fails at their passions, dissapointment/suffering follows. You can disagree with this philosopy, its just one of the many out there.

This reminds me of the Buddhist philosophy, desire being the root of all suffering in the world, once someone removes desire from their life a person can be truly happy.
