My boyfriend’s kids want 50/50 and we are going back to court with the kid’s lawyer to get it. From what we have been told if the kids want it then it shouldn’t be an issue. 🤞🏼

My roommate lost everything except his vehicle and 40% visitation with his kids. She got the house, his workshop, everything in the house and insane amount of child support even though for the last 5 years he was the stay at home dad... he got fucked

He will have to take it to a higher court if the divorce is finalized with these numbers. If it does I’d like to file something against the judge himself for favoritism

I think the judge has a soft spot for her because she works for the court system and my friend brought up the fact she’s illegal in the country and had deportation orders twice, 2000 and 2011...

Yea, I was really hoping one might be in this group and could give us some direction. His lawyer seems...unhelpful. And yes, I’m appalled by this judge and the unfairness. Every time my friend goes to court I get blown away by the rulings. Each time is more fucked up. It’s insane!

Yea, I hear ya. Being in Texas that’s a good guess. Neither are USA born but he went through proper channels and became a US Citizen. She tried but got denied.

Kids don’t have duel citizenship. Neither parent is from Mexico. I don’t know if after the divorce is finalized if he can have a higher court overturn the entire thing. He will fight the child support issue if it gets left that high. He’s been looking for a 9-5 type job now but he’s old enough that he gets no response from employers.

No, he’s never made much money. He has his own business that makes a little money (1200-1500/mo) and took care of the kids. He basically did jobs around the kids

No, In fact the judge based it on the money “he could make”. The judge literally said “how long does she have to support you?” Told him to mow lawns to pay the child support

He has a lawyer and did get extended visitation with the kids. If the final decision by the judge keeps the $800/mo child support he will file for reduction immediately. I just wasn’t sure what happens at mediation. He nor his lawyer seem to get equal time to explain their situation so he was hoping to be able to enter evidence into mediation.

I know!!! Judge doesn’t care. Destroyed his business. I guess her being illegal means a lot less than the fact she works for the courts so I believe there is favoritism.
