Something is off, child support is a formula and it’s not 70%. If it’s based on his gross income from taxes and his business is ruined he needs an attorney to help him navigate.

Her being illegal is as material as your friend choosing to marry and father two kids with an illegal resident.

ouch that is horrible... how can the judge justify that??? literally leaving the guy nothing to live on.. THIS is how men, innocent men, get in an endless cycle of jail and high likelihood of homelessness. what a dickhead judge

Odd that a judge would go to that extreme, does not seem realistic to demand that from somebody regardless of gender. I imagine if you were to get a lawyer you could easily work a better deal out for yourself, chances are you won’t be getting 50/50 because you don’t have the resources to care for a child ( which is a shame considering it was the judge who took everything from you ). If you believe in God, keep praying and get a lawyer. If you don’t believe in God, get a lawyer. Either way, you don’t know all your rights and you probably need someone to represent you professionally anyway. Get a lawyer.

Stay calm, don't respond to threats
don't get too caught up the details of 'now' and look forward to how it will end
do your research, and have a goal to get 50/50 custody if at all possible
realize this is kind of normal, divorce is like Thunderdome for damaged women- it's never as bad as they make it seem.
lean on friends, vent, talk it out all while cutting off contact with the ex.
join a men's group
take a deep breath
it's going to be ok.

He needs a lawyer, clear and simple. The amount he will spend on a lawyer he will save in this atrocious child support order.

damn that's terrible. maybe he can legally take the kids and run away to mexico ? (the kids probably have duel citizenship and maybe he can meet the requirements of asylum )

yes that's an ass backwards idea but if he's gonna try and live off of 400-700 a month (after paying taxes on 1500 a month) he would probably be better off down in mexico.

what is wrong with that judge ? seems like some insane favoritism

1500 a month is making 9.36 an hour ... he would make more money at what a burger working the fries .. this post makes no sense.

He should only be paying 29-30% of his income in Texas. If what you’re saying is the truth than he needs borrow cheat and steal before he gets screwed for the next 15-18yrs of his life

It’s not odd at all about the money. Judges automatically assume that if the father doesn’t make a lot then he’s just lazy. I was the stay at home dad by my wife’s request AND worked on weekends and the first judge came down hard on me... not this hard but my wife was supposed to pay me $2k alimony a month and only ever wound up paying $1k
